    afternoon,
well i weighed myself this morning and was gutted to have put on 3lb
i do deserve it, we had a chinese last night and yet ANOTHER 2 glasses of wine. i know i am comfort eating as i am having a worrying time at the moment. its that real - 'treat myself, i deserve it mentality' which is rubbish and has to stop!
a friend who has just lost a load of weight has just called round and very kindly given me some of her clothes because they are too big for her. i know i cant compare myself to other people, she is naturally a much smaller build than me so its ridiculous to but i dont want to be the one who gets given the 'fat clothes' i know that is a totally irrational statement as even if i lost stones and stones (which i once did) i would never be a size 8 or 10, its just not my build.
i am sorry for the self pity but as i say i am very stressed and worried at the minute and putting weight on just felt a little like the straw that broke the camels back.
i have just read that back and i actually feel a lot better for it, i know its all about control and i really need to regain some.

    today is looking like.
breakfast: 2 x wm toast, scrape of butter and primula
lunch will probably be smokes mackeral pate (that im about to make) with pita and salad
not sure about dinner, may be the pasta and tom/veg sauce that i didnt have yesterday.

i will be having no snacks or wine!! (may have an apple)

    hope you are all well

Sams247 - me too think that's why my will power gave in.

Anyway I got home from work and the sweeties looked at me AGAIN! So I decided the simple way not be to tempted by them is to scoff the lot. Which I did and then felt sick whilst walking the dog - served me right too.

I didn't fancy any dinner (unsurprisely!) but did finish two mouthful's of my fella's kebab and had 1 large potato wedge.

So today is a new day, I do have my Mum staying with me on and off over the next month but it shouldn't have too much effect on my meals.....

    Today:
B: 1 slice of HM bread with butter spread
S: l/fat crisps and a slice of HM choc cake
D: cheese, ham & coleslaw sandwich
S: melon and last of banana milkshake
    D: mince probably as chilli

I have found that I haven't been hungry and it has kept my blood sugar stable. It is possible to eat too little and the body panics at the threat of starvation and so holds onto the fat it has. Or so I have been told, think it may have been on here but seen it other places as well. My son told me to stick with the six times a day and I would lose weight and I was very doubtful. I don't weigh or limit my main evening meal and only weigh breakfast because before i didn't used to eat breakfast so made myself have that ounce.
    [/QUOTE]

Estherh I'm glad that you are taking your sons advice and you have realised my advice (and his) makes sense. You should do well.

Ladies, please cut back on the pasta of an evening, if you are going to have it, make sure you include some protein with it. It will be digested really quickly otherwise, and you will feel hungry before you know it. Heavy carbs aren't the best thing to have at night - unless you have been to the gym or had a good workout and need to replace lost energy quickly.

Look into low G.I. recipes, these will stop the blood sugar peaks that make you store fat. White flour, white sugar, some rice types, Parsnips (!) are the worst.

    evening :D
well even after just one day of sticking to things, i feel more in control and generally better. i even forced (and i really mean forced) myself to run 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill!
    today has been:

2 slices wm toast & primula
2 slices wm toast with v scrummy hm mackerel pate and cucumber
sausages with beans & hm low fat pot salad

i have not sneaked any treats and will try not to do tonight, if i am starving it may be a scrape of mackerel pate on an oatcake

thanks for listening to my self pity :o

Morning everyone :). Lots to catch up and some really good advice. I have managed to loose 2lb since last Saturday, so happy with that. I will need to watch the carbs in the evening from reading here. Also managed to build in a bit more exercise. Back to work next week, so will need to keep the same will power then!

    Hi everyone :)

    Well done Prudent - that's fab :j
Sorry I can't always keep on top of the thread so well done to everyone who is posting :)

    Yesterday:
B: 30g instant oats made with water + 3 dates
L: 3 veggie fingers, 4 (!) microwave French fries + 2 slices of bread scraped with spread (was being treat to lunch as a guest in someone else's house... its tough to keep up with good choices at times like these.)
S: Cup of tea + splash of oat milk, hm lemon cake bar (small)
    D: 40g rice + hm tomato-based veg curry

    Today:
B: 30g instant oats made with water + 1 date
L: 1 large hm wrap with 1/4 avocado, dressing made with thai green curry paste mixed with a little dissolved grated coconut + soy milk, + salad. 2 cups coffee with splash of oat milk.
D: Plan on 1/4 hm thinnish crust pizza - oil-free tomato sauce made with spinach and garlic on top with tofutti mozzarella. Possibly some hm coleslaw too. Maybe a bean salad for some extra protein. Probably a small glass dry white too :o
Love and compassion to all x

Well done Prudent on losing 2lbs.
Marie, 2lbs isn't bad at all after being on holiday, just make sure you're back on board and not still in holiday mode now your back. That's the hard part.

    Today so far:
    B: 1oz cereal
S: Banana and small handful sultanas
L: Leftover stirfry rice/veg from last night - smaller portion plus a tomato
S: Some fruit or the rest of the homemade veg soup
D: Out at friends so could be high calorie

The thing is, in the past slips like last nights chocholate and going out today would have been enough to make me think it's not worth it and pack it in. But now I'm just going to eat what I'm given, not overdo it too much but will have dessert and then carry on as normal.

The regular snacks in between meals have made a big difference to me, and even though it took a few weeks before anything came off, I haven't felt hungry at all so haven't been tempted to binge.
