Hi, had intended to post regularly, but haven't. However, I have lost a few pounds so really pleased with that. I have found that although it took a few weeks before I did lose anything, that eating six times a day seems to work. It has been something like this:
B: 1oz cereal with little oat milk
S: Couple of portions of fruit/veg
L: Soup or salmon and couscous with a tomato
S: More fruit/veg with soya yoghurt when I have it in.
D: normal evening meal - meat/veg/potato or rice or pasta
S: 1oz cereal with little oat milk - possibly different cereal from morning but depends what I fancy.

I have found that I haven't been hungry and it has kept my blood sugar stable. It is possible to eat too little and the body panics at the threat of starvation and so holds onto the fat it has. Or so I have been told, think it may have been on here but seen it other places as well. My son told me to stick with the six times a day and I would lose weight and I was very doubtful. I don't weigh or limit my main evening meal and only weigh breakfast because before i didn't used to eat breakfast so made myself have that ounce.

Maybe this might be of help to someone?

Boodle, I have never known anyone else who drinks oat milk. It is always commented on at the checkout in Tesco.
Prudent, maybe if you were able to make the veg soup and keep having it through out the day it would help? That's something else I may do.

Hi all and welcome to all the new folk :)

Had a rough few days, too much alcohol and not enough food beforehand resulted in tremendous hangover and dodgy stomach for a few days so I've just been eating white starchy carbs so that I didn't upset it again!

B: Toasted bagel and light cream cheese

L: Falafel salad wrap and small low fat chocolate mousse

D: Oven baked fish and HM potato wedges with mushy peas

    S: Sultana scone

Hoping tomorrow will be better but I doubt it, off to Alton Towers with work colleagues and I remember last time I was there nearly bursting into tears because I was so hungry and the nearest place that sold anything remotely healthy was on completely the other side of the park :(

Hi vix, sometimes it's easier when there is a lot to lose, rather than just half a stone, I'm typical yo-yo dieter. I know it's not good, I vow every time that this time it'll stay off, but slowly it creeps up again. How did you lose the three stone?

thanks, the vast majority of it really was through just eating less, proper os, no fancy diets. coming on here most days and, most importantly, when i did (frequently) fall off the wagon, i made sure i got straight back to it asap. my usual attitude is 'ah, well, i've blown it now, i may as well eat what i want'

i really need to get back to it, i know its only 1/2 stone (10lb ideally) but it makes a real differeence to how i feel.

well done on your loss :T

I think the important thing is the getting back on the wagon when you fall off. Also, not getting too hung up on the overall amount, but making sure that the pound that's come off, stays off, iyswim. I want to get down to about 9st but for now I am happy that I am 10st4lb rather than ten and a half that I was a couple of weeks ago. In the past I would have been looking at 9st and thinking I had a long way to go.

    :D morning all,
ester, you are so right. i started at 14st last year with an aim of getting to 11. i just took it 1/2 stone at a time and got to 10st 10lb :T:T
i am now at about 11st4 (i am 5'10) an really want to get those few lbs off again. i know its not much but having taken a real knock to my confidence recently it makes a big difference to how my clothes fit that feeling of control (that makes me sound soooo shallow :o )

so here i am, back again!! i am on 2 weeks annual leave with the kids this week and next so things arent quite normal, i am determined to take picnics on day trips both for diet and money reasons.

    today is:
    breakfast:
2 x wholemeal toast with a scrape of butter and a scrape of peanut butter.

lunch: picnic, egg & vlf mayo sandwiches, maybe reduced fat crisps and some fruit.

dinner: spagetti with hm veg/tom sauce and maybe a couple of meatballs.

will try and keep the snacks and wine to a minimum (wine has certainly NOT helped my weight)

    have a good day

    Hi all,

Last night I ended up having a quick pasta/toms/pepper/mushroom dinner so did well over all yesterday.

But I have done staggering badly today :o, by 9am I had eaten:
6 rum&rasin fudge pieces, 3 pieces of peanut brittle and a large sausage roll :o All the sweets were given to me by a friend for feeding her cats at the weekend - but the lack of will power was entirely my fault :o

    B: see above:o
S: amazingly made it from 9am to 12.30 without anything else :p
    L: tin of soup
S: (I have with me) piece of HM cake, L/fat crisps and 1/2 the banana milkshake that I did have the will power to put back in the fridge yesterday.
D: probably don't have enough calories left to justify eating anything else! but will try and eat something remotely 'normal' and 'healthy' (if my will power takes the sweeties out of reach)

Please feel free to kick me.

Oh wow, peanut brittle ! Haven't had that in years! Used to love it

Last night I somehow added HM bread to eat with the kedgeree, and all with butter on, so that was not so great (well, yummy but not weight loss inducing)

    Today.
    Bfast - weetabix
Lunch - cheese n pickle sandwich (got up late so rushed packed lunch), dried mango
Tea will be HM veggie chilli
    Apricot Yoghurt

Excercise will be the new sit backs my DD taught me . Sit on the floor, sit up very straight, feet slightly apart, arms in front of you, chest height, holding hands (with yourself), then very slowly, keeping your back straight, lean back. Lean forward, lean back a little more, forward etc until you reach the point where you feel a slight shake, hold it, then sit up. Relax. But please only try it if you know you and your back are ok and user friendly.
