AQE Exam Results

can i just put this wee thought out there please? I have been reading all these posts with interest having promised myself that i wouldn't get involved again. A lot of people have complained that by giving a score not a grade some children are dealing with being the 'bottom' score amongst friends and in their class. Why then are some people so eager for aqe to publish results by area and overall? It can only cause more upset for those children and parents. It won't change anything else. Be careful what you wish for people.
I think it would be good if AQE published Stats. There should be nothing to hide and it would make very interesting reading!! - for parents not the children.
Ok the system was not perfect, but I think AQE have handled everything very well up to now............. Only my opinion of course0 -

You would need the raw score to get an accurate percentage.0 -

I presume that to achieve a score of 145 a child would have to get full marks and have a June birthday. So on the law of averages 11 out of 12 children could never attain this score??0 -

My mind is absolutely boggling at all these calculations. I simply haven't got a clue. :rotfl:
Kingston, I'll give them a ring tomorrow hopefully and hassle them about stats. We need something else to dwell on for a few weeks. :rotfl:0 -
Why are so many people trying to knock younger kids who did well in the test? My daughter is a spring birthday and she did do well but to be honest she has sat at the top of her class for the last 3 years and her principle predicted an A even before the tests. If I thought another child told her she only got a good result because of her age, after hearing that from their parents I would not be impressed. I think this line of thought needs to be investigated through the proper channels before parents start blaming the marking system for poor results. Sorry if I sound over protective but these are children we are talking about.
I am glad you have made this comment as my child is an April birthday, he scored 113, I thought he should have done better as he has always been top of his class, I too would not be impressed hearing remarks from children that have come through the parents.0 -

I have no clue about the calculations. I did take statistics at university but that is a fleeting distant memory now I'm afraid!!:rotfl: Ex-spendaholic, if you could ring them that would be great. Their response to my email was: 'AQE will be releasing statistics in due course. I am not aware of what form this will take.'0 -
What, they let you into university? :rotfl: :rotfl: I am only joking by the way. They let me in too :rotfl: :rotfl:but I'm sure they were happier to let me out.
I'll do my best to call AQE tomorrow. I've been planning on doing it all week but things have been hectic in work. Work interfering with my personal stuff is not good. :rotfl:0 -
