beccasmum, you're right @ the table in examswot, but look at the example of another standardised table:-elevenplus.co.uk/standardised scores- you'll have to www it!0

I think what happened with Grosvenor is that they got so many nutters (me included) on the phone just after the results were out and worried that all the confusion about marks etc would put people off applying. For years Grosvenor were oversubscribed and on occasion had to turn away A grades but last year they took 14 B2s.0

I dont think that there are many applying from my sons school and some of the kids from other I had expected to apply there are going elsewhere. I think that parents this year think that the lower grades aren't enough so are choosing elsewhere.0 -

I think another problem is the completely differing advice from primary principals who are as in the dark as the rest of us - my twins (October birthday!) got 118 and 121, so we are in the very fortunate position of 99.9% knowing that they will get into their 1st choice school - however we were advised by our principal to put 2 other choices - one of which should be a secondary.
I also hear from other mums today that there was a very specific way of filling in the transfer form (the candidate number and result were to be written in a particular way) - this is news to me - we were among first parents filling in forms in our school and trusted what the principal told us to write - but now I'm worrying about there being a problem because I haven't put brackets round the score (!) or something equally pedantic - apparently a number of mums from our school got new forms to fill out again and correct this - aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!0 -

just check the transfer booklet that you will have received from the ELB/school the specific instructions/requirements are in there. I know some in my board required letter from principal that child was eldest etc, p'copy of results - all the info was in their admissions details....0 -
Grahamjo30, First of all congrats to your 2 Super Stars! Regarding your transfer form:- Mon morning ring the school, get down there and fill in another form. Take no chances!!0

I don't think this is an actual NFER standardisation table as it implies that a child gets a mark for every month of the year, which I know from speaking to teachers who use NFER tests is not the case. NFER's are the tests used in most schools and the scores between younger children and their older friends of similar ability don't differ that much so I would still reackon that the schools type are probably more like the one used by AQE especially since these are the scores they will look at in special circumstance cases.0 -
Thanks folks.
Unfortunately the school says the forms were sent away at lunchtime today!
I feel a right prat for not reading booklet closely enough (Regent state that the words 'AQE CEA score, followed by the Score with the AQE Candidate Number in brackets' should be entered on the form) - I would die if kids were penalised for me having entered the required info, but not in the proper way they want - maybe my best bet would be to ring Regent on Mon and 'fess up!0 -

Think they were straightforward - according to the criteria this is what they required:
Please ensure that you enter the score awarded by the Association for Quality Education for theCommon Entrance Assessment in Section C of the Transfer Form in the following format:‘AQE CEA score’, followed by the score.
that is what I did....0
