Picked Carrickfergus Grammar 1st Choice then Belfast High 2nd and Larne Grammar 3rd. Tough choice between Carrick Grammar & Belfast High. Lots of good feedback from Parents of year 8 pupils (1st year in my day!!)about Carrick Grammar, so that swayed it for us. My daughter got 112 so pretty hopeful -But not counting chickens just yet!!!

Have you chosen 1st choice yet? - Thought Carrick Grammar and Belfast High open nights very good, Larne Grammar not so good!!. But all good schools and some very good secondary schools in East Antrim also.:)
I live east antrim bordering south antrim. My son got 112 and has put ist choice BRA, 2nd choice Ballyclare High. Ballyclare Secondary which is a very school only accepting those who put it down as their 1st choice.
  • no just aqe
  • My child only did the aqe and scored mark of 102. Would there be any benefit in my ringing Victoria to get percentile rank (we won't be applying to Victoria)?
  • Stephenni, you are as famous as Martin Lewis now. :rotfl:

As far as I know there is a percentile rank with GL and that is why the AQE scores are converted to a percentile rank - thus they compare percentile rank with percentile rank!!
  • i think it is only Victoria which is taking both tests so i dont think you nead to.

You can't apply to Victoria unless you put the percentile rank on the transfer form. You have to give candidate number and confirm name and address when you phone and then they ruffle through their papers literally and find your daughter's and then provide you with it.

As long as your offspring is female there should be know harm in enquiring - lots will have enquired who won't be applying..
  • oh dear, i just rang victoria to see what my child's percentile rank would be thinking that they would just look on a chart and tell me the equivalent. However, they asked me her name....as my child is a boy...I had not thought this bit through and quickly muttered the first name that came into my head. She then went checking through to try and find 'her' and said she could not find her on the list . I ended up putting the phone down . I can't honestly believe the lengths I would go to to try and shed some light on his mark. SOOOOO embarrassing and I wasn't even clever enough to block my phone number so no doubt they have it  You have to laugh though right??:rotfl:
