  • yes, i did they said it was an excellent score, and to make sure i applied . but i thought maybe they where telling everyone the same thing:o
  • thats my understanding aswell
  • What we need is Kathryn Torney at the Telegraph or Maggie Taggart at UTV to get onto the case with this. I'm not dissing the Irish News but lets face it most of its readership will probably have done GL as opposed to AQE. Still it is nice to see a bit of media coverage at last, so well done to the Irish News. :T

good idea...anyone with a fiesty disposition fancy contacting the Telegraph?
  • Tinkerbell go with your first choice and your next preferred choices regardless of the score. Put a number of schools down to try to cover all bases.

thankyou EVERYONE that makes me a bit happier for today anyway :j xxx
  • Beccasmum, have you phoned the school? I phoned ours (although I did it on the Monday morning just after the results were out). :rotfl: The VP told me that he was expecting to be taking at least the top of quintile 3. I live in hope at those words and hope that he is right.

    Which school is that?
  • Ex Spendaholic - thank you for typing that out! The one day work didn't get the Irish News and there was something I wanted to read!! Though as you said we had read it before because it was this forum's postings.

The equivalence to GL and AQE interesting - I know a couple of people whose kids got As in GL and high 90s in AQE.

PACE NI - before they were removed from the forum - I think they said that GL was tested at Level 4 and AQE at Level5/6. I think Level 5/6 is what they expect students to be at when they enter post primary edcuation. Not sure if this is correct however I am sure that I heard at an event prior to exams at Methody saying that AQE CEA test is set at Level 5.
  • Kingston, it was Grosvenor.

Josiejo, I've been trying to find out where I read that about the level 4 and 5 thing.

Kathryn Torney is currently not available. :(
  • Thanks for trying Ex-spendaholic xx

So what exactly does a score of 119 mean? I wish I knew how far down the list this makes my daughter, any ideas anyone? Do you think AQE will ever give us more detailed info?:(

119 is an absolutely superb mark and I would imagine one of the very top in the province. You have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to worry about :T
