  • Thats it basically. It doesn't give us any information - in fact Simon Doyle the Education Correspondent had to read our thread to do the article. :rotfl: There is a picture of the first 2 posts on the thread by Stephenni1971 an money19.

There is an article below regarding the Governing Bodies Associations concerns with regards to Special Circumstances.
  • Ahh, this whole idea of grammars being able to predict cut off points is beginning to make sense. They may not know exactly who will apply but they have a fair idea, especially when, as in my case we only have 1 grammar in our town and one in the next to choose from so it is looking more favourable for my wee girl. Thanks for that insight.
  • hi everyone i have posted before but i dont think anyone noticed ;; boo hoo,,

just to say what a great site this is and very helpfull too. What i wanted to know was did anyone elses child get a score of 99 ,and do you think it would be a good enough score for Methody.
  • Tinkerbell, my child has 104 and has put Methody as choice number 2. No-one really knows what the cut off point will be at each school.
  • Beccasmum, have you phoned the school? I phoned ours (although I did it on the Monday morning just after the results were out). :rotfl: The VP told me that he was expecting to be taking at least the top of quintile 3. I live in hope at those words and hope that he is right.
  • thankyou ,it is all so confusing:(
  • Hi Tinkerbelle. Welcome to our famous thread!!! In my opinion 99 should be good enough for Methody given past 3 years intake especially if AQE stats are pessimistic (as i have been led to believe by several grammar school principles.)
  • What we need is Kathryn Torney at the Telegraph or Maggie Taggart at UTV to get onto the case with this. I'm not dissing the Irish News but lets face it most of its readership will probably have done GL as opposed to AQE. Still it is nice to see a bit of media coverage at last, so well done to the Irish News. :T
  • Ex-spendaholic, thanks for copying that out for us xo
  • thankyou ,it is all so confusing:(

Stick with us and we'll confuse you even further. :rotfl: Seriously though this thread is my only sanity. I wake in the morning and my first thoughts are schools, marks, quintiles and AQE. There is no getting away from it.
