Mount Merrion, well done to your daughters. Having twin daughters was indeed a challenge in a situation like this.
I'm well pleased at the £40 school fund. To think at one point we were nearly going down the Campbell route where we would have been paying £2100.
I've my forms all filled out now and the birth cert etc ready to go. I'm dropping them in tomorrow morning.0 -
Funny how now that the sky hasn't fallen in on most of your worlds as predicted in February, the anger and willingness to appeal all decisions has disappeared. Not much support for mumof3 who wanted to appeal her decision. The "fight her on the beaches" and we will all see her in court has morphed into " appeal if you can be bothered". A clear case of pull the laddder up Jack! Is it because the end result was what you wanted that you really don't care about the mess that we were all in when this forum started?
I assume that this view will be as unwelcome as my original views, (yes, i do have a child going through the process, who got 1st choice thanks) but don't waste your time replying, I only checked in to see if the forum was still going. As I said in February, i'm going to enjoy spending time with my children and family. Good Luck to all the children in September (most of you are going to need it with parents like the ones on here!)0 -

A bit over the top I think!!. It's one day after the results, of course most people on here will be excited and relieved.
It is not to say there is no concern for those who did not get the results they wished for. Support and advice will be available for those who seek it on this thread, from parents who do care.
Relax, with all due respect, haven't noticed much, if any, support or input from you over the past few months........0 -

Relax, I don't see why you have got such an attitude. I said to Momof3 that she had nothing to lose in appeal. If I was in that situation then I would be appealing. I also really feel for Stanjnr as location seems to have been his downfall. The score his child got would have got him a grammar school place elsewhere but not in his locality which is very unfortunate. Oh and for me yes the sky would have fallen in if my child hadn't got a decent school place. I fully admit that and don't try to hide it. There is nothing wrong with wanting nothing but the best for your child. I will continue to hassle AQE for the information that I have been looking for over the past few months. I'll continue to enjoy time with my children and family too - there is no law against visiting an online forum if you have kids.
Notasnobmum, I have heard of some horrific stories regarding kids in Bangor not getting into the Academy and being offered schools in Ballynahinch, Crossgar and the likes whereas kids in Comber and further afield are getting into the Academy. So unfair that this has happened. What are you going to do?0 -

I do genuinely feel for you. I have a friend whose son applied for Slemish college. This has a grammar and secondary stream, very heavily over subscribed. She was faced with the decision does she put it down as 1st choice and not get a place. Their 2nd choice was Ballyclare Secondary which was only taking pupils who put it down as 1st choice and Parkhall secondary as 3rd. Luckily they took the risk and her son has been accepted into Slemish. My son got into his 1st choice but I know he really wasnt interested in his 2nd or 3rd choice. What are you going to do? Will you appeal it? I wish you well and do please keep us informed via the forum.0 -

How Rude!!! For your information, my whole life revolves around my children, my hours of work, organisaton of how to be with them as much as I possibly can, as I am sure is the same as most of the good parents on this forum! When my daughter was practising for AQE I was with her the whole way and in this new chapter of her life I will be there to support her and will hopefully join in with Hunterhouse life! This forum has been a place to share feelings, my daughter never once knew how I was feeling!
No one ever made anyone read or contribute to this forum! Why did you feel the need to be so horrible! Hopefully my child will not have to deal with too many people like you!0 -

Congratulations to your child on being allocated a place in her first choice school. My children don't need the luck you wish them, they have great parents so please don't judge anyone - you have no right.0 -
