However I think they based this on the building rather than anything else. :rotfl:It is a good school though. Grosvenor was just streets above them. Did you look at Wellington? I wasn't overly inspired with it. Nothing actually wrong with it but there was just something missing.
We did look at Wellington and really liked it. It was different to what I was expecting. I thought the same as your hubbie about Inst - good school but just didnt get the same warmth about it as I did about Grosvenor. I suppose everyone is looking for different things and Grosvenor just suits what our son wanted.
Do you know the kids get to have a trip away at the beginning of term - a get to know your new friends trip. I think its a great idea and a great way to get them settled in.0 -

Coleraine Girls High and Coleraine Inst. Loretto and Dominican are the grammar choices but Dalriada would have pupils from all over as they never took geography as a criteria and children from Ballymoney have lost out on a place in the past so it is such a relief to get her in as we have no connections with the school apart from geography. The real fun all begins now as my wee girl starts her life in BIG school.:eek:0 -
Yes I was telling him about it today. I think its to Crawfordsburn possibly. Can't remember how long its for. It was mentioned at one of the open nights or something. Its good that they do it as it must be scary starting a big new school.0

More than I thought then Beccasmum. Yes it really is scary. It seems like yesterday when it was all just beginning in P1.0

That pale green booklet from Grosvenor has just magically appeared on my dressing table. I never seen it before and it had become part of the junk mail we got this morning.
I've been going back and forward to the website all day looking for information when it was all there in front of me. :rotfl:
£40 for school fund which can be paid half in October, half in February - absolute bargain. :rotfl:0 -
So glad we all know where we are now!
We did go out and buy the Hunterhouse tie £9.95!!!! But hey I would have paid more just to have the day we have had! Good luck to everyone and their children for the future. What a journey - it really only begins now!
Our wee primary school is the best, at the minute (as far as we can tell from talking to the children - we have a total of 36 P7's with 22 getting grammar places, most of them their first choice school!
Our primary school have been wonderful and prepared the children well, but never once did they make the children feel under pressure! We did not even have a meeting our principals view was to just get on with what needed to be done what was the point of talking and talking when it was out of our control.
I am gonna adopt that attitude for the future!
