Thats very true Co Down Mum. At one stage we were going to put Campbell as 2nd choice. We would have been looking at £2100 per year plus £300 for music and a logistical nightmare to get there in the mornings.0

And its a commitment for at least 5 years..thats a lot of money..and it would only go up year on year.

In the end I decided that it wasn't the place for my son. He would probably been quite happy there but would have coasted along without much care. Whereas in Grosvenor I don't believe they will put up with slackers.
Inst isn't the cheapest either. I think you pay about £900 in there. I'll gladly give Grosvenor the £50 a year or whatever it is.0 -
Just want to say thanks to all you nutters for keeping me entertained over the past few months, may all your little darlings love their new schools and succeed in whatever they put the minds to. I have to do this all again in 2012 and I hope we have as favourable an outcome as we have this time. God bless and keep. Beccasmum.:A0

I thought Campbell was a beautiful school, but not really somewhere I thought my son would fit in. He wasnt overly keen on inst either. Don't know if it was the all-boys thing or the old traditionalist style. Grosvenor was just way ahead than the others from the time we went to the open night. All the kids were really confident.0 -
I think I got sucked in by the lovely building etc. I never seen Inst. Husband and son went and weren't impressed. However I think they based this on the building rather than anything else. :rotfl:It is a good school though. Grosvenor was just streets above them. Did you look at Wellington? I wasn't overly inspired with it. Nothing actually wrong with it but there was just something missing.0

She sure did,Yippee:j and we are delighted, she still can't believe it and is so excited even though none of her friends got in but they sort of knew that when the results came out. Thanks for asking.:)0 -
Thats brilliant Beccasmum. :T :T I'm sure you are all delighted. Its one of the top schools in NI. Can't think of too many schools down your way - Our Lady of Lourdes and North Coast (or is it North West) Integrated College are all that spring to mind.0
