I would love to hear from folk whose child got into Belfast High School and what their score was. Trying to get a sense of what the cut off might have been.

ladyb1rd, Assumption was my old school, oh, the memories! Kingston, as you know, we went and let her try on everything and and then put down the deposit, the girl who was dealing with us (who was lovely, btw) said they had been v busy all morning. At least I know what they need and how much I've left to pay etc. My daughter, who is not very sentimental or excitable made her daddy put the picture of her in her wee uniform as the screen saver on his phone! I've had a lovely evening filling in forms and reading the bumpf we got sent, ahhhh, bliss - and I'm not being sarcastic!

Sounds like you've had a lovely day! I have around 15 P7s here at minute. They are busy watching a scary movie and all I can hear from downstairs is screaming, mostly from the girls!! I might call in next week and get bits and pieces of the uniform. Any idea what the final damage will be for the uniform?

Vido, I know of a 92 who got Grosvenor. Son doesn't think there were any special circumstances.

Kingston can one of you go to Dublin with your daughter and the other go to BHS with your son?

Kingston, it was lovely, although I have chronic indigestion brought on by chocolate fountains and other assorted party foods and dashing from here, to collect daughter, back here, then to Carrick, then to forestside and then home again. She bought her own tie for £3:99 and a blazer, 3 shirts, a cardigan, 1 pair of P.E socks, 1 pair of ordinary socks, a tracksuit, t shirt, shorts and 2 skirts came to £291!!!!!!!! Although if you have it all paid by end of July you do get 10% off. I have to say, it looks like a lot more were celebrating than commiserating today than what I had expected, it just shows you that AQE's 'averages' and 'quintiles' really were a load of old tripe.

Did you buy the whole uniform? What colours etc..is victoria? I am very tempted to get son's BHS uniform. Just thought it was a bit early yet. Anyone else going to buy uniform?

Bought most of it I think, spent about £280....that was uniform and track suit and hockey out fit etc...not much left to get, just shoes i think.

Warnocks let you exchange it for a bigger size near the time if she grows to fast between now and sept. They gave us 10% discount, £310 was the original price....

colours are grey and maroon.....lovely... I will try and post a photo of her that I took in the shop today

    Whatever happened to only 'A's??
Did folk think that they had no chance so many didn't apply?
Our Primary Principal was suggesting back in Feb that it would be over subscribed due to the new school - I think he put many off!!
    Regards

Inst didn't look at marks, they looked at bands. I think 90 is at the top of Band 5.

Worked to my sons advantage thankfully.

You need to see how many from Bands 4 and 5 were offered places.

EDIT: 90 is in Band 4, so he went to the wrong primary school then, as my son got in from Band 4 with no previous connection to the school.

  • Hello All
Only posted once before. My son got his 2nd choice which was Saintfield High.Got a score of 88 and he changed to Wellington as his 1st choice on the final day for changes. As I attended Annadale I was always hoping that maybe he would have a chance but I knew it would probably be close to the cut off mark and I see someone with 94 got in.But we are all happy and have had a good day out and know that Saintfield is a very good school and he will do well.
Well done to all as this has been a long process.
