I wanted to do a poll but not sure how to. I have just accepted a job, have been out of work for a year. The job is 25 miles away, is this excessive? Just wondering what others do.
Whether we win or lose,
that we played at all was a winning decision.

I used to do 30 miles each way, I now do none because I work from home full time. If I have to leave the house then I get paid for my mileage.
Rather than thinking about the distance, consider more how long it will actually take you to do the journey at peak times.
When I did my 30 mile commute, if I left the house after 7.30am, it took me about an hour but if I left at 7.10am, then it took me about 35 to 40 minutes. I hated the sitting in traffic and preferred to get up early on have a smooth journey.0 -
40 miles there, 40 back. All on single lane too, not one bit of dual carriageway.
I don't mind it though as it gives me a chance to chill out, listen to my CDs that i would be too embarrasses for anyone else to listen to, think about my day ahead etc before i get in.
(I actually had some Rick Astley on today; ssssssssh!!!!!:o)0 -

Driving time as well as mileage has to be taken into consideration. 25 miles on the M25 is somewhat different to 25 miles on reasonably traffic free roads..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0
