    wise buyers guide is 1.200(it has 60ths miles) tht extra 200 is alot to me, and it hasnt got extra rust because it was fixed. whats with all the sarcy comments?? grow up

    What is "wise buyers guide" ?

    Glasses guide is the one you want. I bet its less than 1k

    Also maybe your mot hadnt quite ran out but its illegal and uninsurable to drive a dangerous car which yours was hence the payment could have been reduced without the MOT

    try refusing the payout and see if they will up it. its been known to happen. if they say no then nothing ventured nothing gained.
    This.
    Also look on autotrader and ebay for similar cars, you'll probably be surprised at what you get for your money. I know its annoying when this kind of thing happens but at the end of the day the insurance company is offering a fair amount and no one's really messing you around in all this.

    My daughter was only offered £1,000 part exchange for her 2002 Ford Ka so grab their hands off and £1050 - I understand what you are getting at you've just paid £370 to get it through the MOT but that's life.
    Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

    Hi Becki,

    I think you've misunderstood the valuation given on wisebuyers;

    Retail:£1,200
    Private Good:£880
    Private Average:£610
    Private Poor:£350
    Part Exchange:£710
    Trade:£620

    I honestly think that the offer you've had is pretty darn good. I appreciate that you're hacked off about losing your car but, having paid out for repairs doesn't make your car worth any more. If you really believe your car is worth more then challenge the insurers with your evidence, you have nothing to lose

    If you're interested in the scrappage scheme, speak to the insurer of the car who collided with it and offer to take (say) £750 plus retaining the salvage. You have a car with a valid MOT and can still use the scrappage scheme.

  • also i have spoken to a few garages today and all of them said the mechanic should not have been driving it after it had all the work done and passed the mot it should have been left on site.
