Being distracted half way through reading this I have forgotten peeps names I wanted to mention!! So if I get your user name wrong or don't mention it please forgive me!!

anguk - glad to hear your hubby has come off the critcial list and come round.

msd - glad michelle and tris are doing well.

Molly - I read yesterday (but didn't post) and was  to hear about the courier for lakeland. I certainly think they should be treating it very seriously.

Mioliere - enjoy your trip back to the uk, bet you are so excited to catch up with the family and see your new grandchild.

Bitsy - hope you can get your iron levels up a bit and hopefully be less tired.

NPM - enjoy having a second birthday for your OH!!

Churchmouse - sounds like you've had a lovely day, Happy Birthday.

Hugs to anyone who needs them, I know there was others I wanted to mention!

Its my weekend off, hooray!! Have been a bit busier this week (in fact I didn't stop today), I suppose its just getting used to a new department. Its certainly a slower pace than I'm used to in my last department, but I'm sure when I get involved in a big job that will change.

Can I ask you why you home school your kids? I've never spoken to anyone who has done it before and I'm a nosey cow:o:rotfl:

Their primary school was offering a sub-standard education and I knew I could do better :)

I didn't want DDs to go to the local high school either as it's a haven for gang recruitment. The children are rude and foul-mouthed [although probably wonderful at home] and they could only achieve less than a third of the national standard in exams last time I checked.

It hardly filled me with confidence.

Now that they are out of school, I wouldn't put them back, as it's been the best thing for all of us :)

I have had seizures in the street before but people always call an ambulance and I hate that. I had just plucked up the courage to go out again now I'm back to square one:(
I've got the kids helping with the cleaning, not sure how long it will last though!

My weetabix cake came out well and tastes lovely so I'm not a total failure.

I would be interested to know about this. It's something I thought about, but wouldn't [STRIKE]have had the bottle[/STRIKE]support from DH!

NPM - Have got a telephone appointment with Doc on Monday to discuss results. I've got some tablets to help ease the blood loss at the time of the month so that should help somewhat. No way am I taking iron tablets - had to have them in pregnancy and won't be going down that route again ;) I bought some Spatone but with it being related to my periods I think trying to catch up with iron via food etc is bit like bailing out a sinking ship with a teaspoon. I think mirena coil it has to be. Sorry if all of that was TMI :rotfl:

    :D

When I was pregnant with dd and low on iron my midwife gave me a list of iron rich foods, including dark chocolate, with a high cocoa content :T, buy yourself a bar or two and tell the others not to touch it as its for medicinal purposes :D:rotfl:

Glad you did not get snowed in. Impressed with the Comedy Club!

    Happy Birthday Churchmouse :bdaycake::bdaycake:

Feeling a bit better so went out for short walk and managed to get a bit further than have been doing. Went to library, then chemist, then corner shop for eggs. Came home and made two huge pizzas with onions, red, green and yellow peppers and chopped chicken and pesto in bacon on top for tea, had shower and washed my hair - and then had to go and put feet up.

DD has just asked me to get some books for her - she hates teenage stuff as it is shallow and badly written and wants "a good story". Going to order her "The Notebook" "Emma" and "Catcher in the Rye" and see how she likes them.

Hugs to all and see you later.

Happy birthday Churchmouse.....glad to hear that you are being spoilt...

Molly...so sorry to hear about the whole debacle with the delivery person...those kind of people should not be allowed into contact with others.

We took DD3 out for lunch to-day as its her 30th birthday....only one of my children still in their 20s....makes me sound so old!

Had to leave for two hours due to interruption from brother and DS3, so have forgotten all I wanted to say.

Hugs to all in need or want, back later if brain returns

    Marie

Marie my baby son id 40 this year his elder sister is 50!!! OMG I must be old!!!

Today has been one of those days…….we were up breakfasted and on our way by 9.30am.

We called at the Doctors and collected forms to fill in to register, they did not want our medical cards.

Straiton was the next stop; we went to Dunelm first and bought a 13.5tog duvet, a rubbish bin for the kitchen curtains for the guest bedroom and posh tiebacks. I found a rubber mat for boots and wellies to go in the boot room. We called in to Dreams to look at a metal bed, but came out and made our way to Ikea.

We decided to treat ourselves, fish, chips and peas with hot choccy for OH and coffee for me. We set off to have a look round and found a cabinet we really liked but it was too big for the car, we enquired about delivery £50, I think not…..we did buy 2 units for the kitchen, 2 shelf units for the store cupboard., and a new seat for the toilet. I managed to sneak in some scented tea lights. We called at Aldi for pork chops for Sunday supper and I picked up 2 packets of fire lighters, they made a great difference to lighting the stove when we got home………..

We changed our mind about the tables in the sewing room, I have put the other table back and K has taken the kitchen table for the tea rooms at the garden centre. He also offered to lend us the pickup to go and collect the unit from Ikea………

We have unpacked a few more boxes and have the bookcase in the sitting room so books are getting put back as we find them.

Made some progress in the sewing room, I have far too many quilting books, I am sure I am never going to use them, think I will have to have a book sale……….

By 6pm I was crackered, so I made 2 ham and tomato rolls, OH had a yogurt and I had an apple…….we have just finished listening to ‘The Archers’…….I found the wireless!!!!

    Think I will need a shower tonight…………
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Good Evening Everyone,

I feel like settling down now for a natter, have been popping in and out all day, and have read the thread but don't remember everything, so apologies if I've forgotten anything important.

Welcome to all the newbies!:j You'll love it here, and you're right CaptainHaggis it is the nicest board on the forum!!

Anguk I'll just say again how happy we are in this house to hear things with Martyn are going well:T

Taplady so sorry to hear your news, hope Taplord is ok today.

Churchmouse Happy Birthday - sound like a great day, exactly how a birthday should be!

Today was a lazy one, my funk has returned with a vengeance, OH thinks I have SAD and although I have been fighting it for ages, I'm beginning to think he might be right! We had Cajun Wraps with quorn, peppers and onion for dinner. Delish, but I didn't make enough and only had 1 myself, and whilst my waistline might like it, my belly doesn't and I'm hungry! Off to do some baking, will do flapjacks, Millies Cookies for a wee treat and some muffins. I also have some sausage rolls to make and a veggie haggis to use up, so some pasties or similar with that!

Tomorrow I need to touch up my roots and do a food shop. I need some retail therapy, so will possibly pop to Ikea for a wee browse, plan on doing a bit of decorating soon, so need some inspiration. Might go car booting too if I get up early enough, haven't been there for ages and ages!

To all our poorly and worried friends, have a huge hug. Lowesy and OH, Jayne and George, and Diva, hope you are all taking care of yourselves.

    Have a lovely evening everyone!

ETA I keep forgetting to say Good Luck in the new house Csarina! Welcome to Scotland!
