Taplady So sorry to read about your Aunt. Big hugs for you xx

NicLou It's a hard decision to make I know. I had my old lady Labrador put to sleep last March. Her back legs went in the end and she was obviously in pain and couldn't walk. Big hugs to you xxx

Pipkin and Sandy Im in the same situation. I wobble -and fall over on a regular basis as in yesterday! I totally understand the confidence thing.

I have had a call from Lakeland and they are taking what happened very seriously. They have excellent customer service so I feel happy that they are trying to resolve the situation x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • :rotfl:OMG that is so funny! I'm sure it isn't for the other lad's mum, or if it were my boys, but that's put a good smile on my face, I've just been reading something really serious and you've brightened up my evening! :)

:wave: Hi to everyone else, I'll be back later!

Yep - me too. Last time I had Molly Dog to stay, I fell over in the hallway, and she just stood there looking at me as if I'd gone daft! And we're just not going to mention the amount of times I've found myself hitting the deck trying to do my WiiFit+ exercises. Phew I am cream crackered!
Made savoury flapjack with mindee this morning which is very tasty.
Made chinese paper lanterns this afternoon with her - I know it's not til next week but it's the same day as Valentines day and if I didn't do it today we probably wouldn't be able to do both next Friday.
Having cajun chicken for tea although I am too tired to make some tortillas so H is going to buy some (oh the shame of it :o).

Am definately going to have a beer or maybe I should stock up on some guiness for the iron in it? Actually scrap that I only like the Guiness they sell in Ireland - the stuff over here is vile.

NPM - Have got a telephone appointment with Doc on Monday to discuss results. I've got some tablets to help ease the blood loss at the time of the month so that should help somewhat. No way am I taking iron tablets - had to have them in pregnancy and won't be going down that route again ;) I bought some Spatone but with it being related to my periods I think trying to catch up with iron via food etc is bit like bailing out a sinking ship with a teaspoon. I think mirena coil it has to be. Sorry if all of that was TMI :rotfl:

Nic - My mum's eldest labrador is the same. She's crippled with arthritis so very unsteady somedays on her back legs, her front are bearing all the weight. BUT she's at the front door with her boots blacked for a little walk in the morning. She still fights about having her claws clipped so my parents aren't prepared yet to make the final decision. She has bad days and we think the end is near and then she rally's round again. Been going on like this for a year now! Hugs to you - it's awful to have to make the decision x

Taplady - very sorry to hear about your aunt. Thinking of you and the family xxx

Anguk - glad to hear Martyn just keeps on improving :D

Friend sent me River Cottage recipe for pear and almond cake - I am definately going to make that tomorrow :D

Happy birthday Churchmouse.....glad to hear that you are being spoilt...

Molly...so sorry to hear about the whole debacle with the delivery person...those kind of people should not be allowed into contact with others.

We took DD3 out for lunch to-day as its her 30th birthday....only one of my children still in their 20s....makes me sound so old!

Had to leave for two hours due to interruption from brother and DS3, so have forgotten all I wanted to say.

Hugs to all in need or want, back later if brain returns

I was told that Mackesons stout has more iron in it than Guiness ;)

Fingers crossed that will help with the anaemia :) but don't forget to take a painkiller before you have it fitted ;)

    Morning all

Sorry to hear about your work problems Purple Ivy.

    Hugs Hester
    Hi HEster
Don't think my work problems come anywhere near to yours, did the paper arrive?

Afternoon all. Late here again. I rang into work this morning to find out if I was needed. I was put back in the class I was with before for today. FIne. At least if I'm there I get paid. Apparently 'she' sent an email sometime after 8pm last night to let me know. Hellllooooo! WHo's checking their work email that time of night unless they have forgotten to do it in the day!

So I went in for 2 lessons. There was more but won't bore you with the details. It seems I need to clock in for my usual time next Wednesday.

Sewing went in the post. Cheque arr for the last lot yesterday and hoping it isn't too long before the cheque for the current lot arrives. I have someone coming for manicure on Monday.

DH has had day off today, doing 9 day fortnights and today is day 10. We decided last time he had this that we should do something, e.g. go out for lunch , pictures or whatever where he's home for the day, as he is actually working away at the moment. It's Day 5 of my Careful Eating, but was diffficult not to do too much damage. I didn't go at all mad. It was 3 before we went, so at least I shan't need much for dinner. Diva said she had porridge, that might be a good idea for later!

DS away for music weekend with school, so we go to the concert on Sun afternoon when we pick him up. Other than that a quiet weekend I hope, so that I can catch up with housework, which has been rather neglected while I've been sewing.

    Have a good weekend everyone.
