Have to admit that I tend to wear them under jumper dresses or as thicker tights, rather than how I used to wear them!

Ooh, who are you playing? Have you got tickets for any of the Six Nations matches? We're going to the Calcutta Cup next month :j

She then got very arsey with my DD and I asked her to stop. As I was talking I was concentrating on woman and not on my balance and totally lost it and fell backwards and landed on the floor. I winded myself and have hurt my back. Upset all my children and they phoned their dad. I just phoned Lakeland as am mortified that they might think I stole the items. Of course they did not think that but it has really upset me and im really wobbly....

Molly, I hope you complained bitterly about her behaviour, and I hope you haven't had a setback as a result of your fall :grouphug:
  • Good morning all!

I'm not sure last time I posted, I know it's been a day or two, I have been reading though, but my head's in a funny place just now, and didn't feel much like chatting. I've given myself a shake this morning though, and am much more with it.

Boys had branflakes and pancakes for breakfast. I shall have to shove the extras in the freezer soon, else I shall be snacking on them all day. I only needed 8, but ended up making about 24!!! I should really measure it out, but I do it by eye, and always end up with too many. Not that they go to waist!;)

Lunch today for me will be leftover rice make into some sort of stirfry type yumminess. Dinner tonight is soup of some sort. I have a butternut squash languishing ath the bottom of the fridge, I might make it with some sweet potato, but it might be a bit sweet. Ooh I know, I'll maybe stick some curry powder in, what do you think?

Plan for the day is to conquer mount laundry.

Anguk so glad to hear there are signs of improvement with Martyn.
    Haribo hope things are ok
Zippychick I hope things are good with you too!

I thought about FairyElephant again, yesterday, is anyone still in touch with her?

To everyone else, those of us with stresses, those of you with health problems (there are quite a few of us at the moment!) I hope today brings new blessings. Have a fabby day!

    Morning all

Foggy and snowy (although not snowing at the moment) here. When will spring come? Can't wait to have my washing out on the line instead of on airers around the house!

Don't think I posted yest. This week has been amazingly busy and I just don't seem to have time for everything. I went to my knitting class on tuesday and instead of homework to practice we have a project! I am knitting a cardigan and have nearly finished the back!!!!!! It is chunky wool and really big needles so grows quite quickly which is what I need at the moment so that I am encouraged (or so I am told lol:rotfl:) I only have one class left to go to but we can call in anytime if we are stuck so feel quite good about it. Wish me luck!

Haven't read the thread yet but am going to nip out shopping and will catch up with all the news when I get back. ((((Hugs)))) to anyone who needs or wants them. Have a good day everyone x

    Morning peeps

well i feel wide awake for a change, i managed to get a full 8 hours of sleep last night for the first time since before Christmas. It was only broken once and i managed to get straight back off which is a miracle in itself.

The houndies have been walked, little houndie went tearing off around the park like a loon, it was so funny to see as he is usually as slow plodding along old man type of doggie, both of them are now fast asleep.

The washing has been hung on the airers upstairs and the place has been tidied so i`m happy now :D I`ve also filled some small plant pots with potting compost and brought them inside to warm the soil ready for some plants once i`ve sprouted some seeds - thats my next job and then i shall check my meal planner and start off some food and hop in the shower.

Lots of snow here last night but this morning its all thawing :j i`m fed up with it now and just want spring to arrive early! the garden is full of birdies again as i`ve put plenty of extra food out for them and a couple of handfuls of sultanas as a treat.

Taplady - Good to hear that Janet is doing so well, hope that DH`s x-rays and bloods come back with good news. Sorry to hear about your Auntie.

Csarina - Hope that all the "hidden" items are found soon :D

Aplaceinthesun - To make the dog food i use either pet chicken mince, plain old minced beef or like last time ox heart all chopped up. I put it in the slowcooker with plenty of sliced carrots, rinsed pearl barley, brown rice and red lentils and a kettle full of hot water. The flavours from the meat cook into the pulses and they love it. I portion it up and freeze it and when i feed it i microwave it until piping hot and leave it to cool before mixing it in with whatever is left in their bowls at night and they lick the bowls clean so that i can shove them into the dishwasher :D I usually need to add a bit more water during cooking but its really easy and moneysaving too.

Lol at all the leggings talk, i used to live in the things and had several pairs, doubt they`d look so good now. Dunno if i could even get any big enough to keep my ample behind contained :rotfl:

I`m off to look for the lovely bouillabaise recipe that i saved after a lovely oldstyler pm`d it to me when i`d lost my copy. Thankyou!

    Have a lovely day everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Molly, that's appalling behaviour. I don't suppose she's a direct employee of Lakeland, probably from a courier firm? Maybe you could find out exactly who does employ her and then send off an extremely strongly worded complaint. I hope you feel OK now - it must have been very unsettling, even without the fall.
My "10 minute day" is going surprisingly well - loads ticked off already. I'm being very good and tending to finish a task when I hear the buzzer, but stopping my rest immediately!
Have had call from DS, they are coming tomorrow afternoon.
Oh well, onward and upwards as Mum used to say!

    Hi all,

Can I join in please? I've been lurking for a while but have finally introduced myself :)

So far today I have washed the bfast pots, hoovered the living room and stairs, tidied the under sink cupboard and tidied the living room. I'm quite chuffed with myself as having 2 kids 3yrs and under my excuse for the house being a mess for the past 2 years at least is 'I can't clean while the kids are around' and then being too tired when they go to bed. Oh and I took 2 loads of washing round to my sister's house as the door's fallen off our washing machine!

So most of my major jobs are done for the day, just got to think what to do with steak for tea (have a very cheap mobile butchers near us - I get steak from him cheaper than I can get value chicken breasts!)

Hopefully dd will refrain from drawing on any more walls today as my parents are moving house tomorrow to be nearer to us and fil and mil are coming to stop with us to help!
I'm playing all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order!

Thanks for the support. She is a self-employed courier but Lakeland need to complain to company as she is effectively working for them. She has been back twice! Once because she was so worried about me. Pity she didnt think about the effect she has on people before she acted in the manner she did. My kids dad has just emailed Lakeland the issues and is on my case now. I was going to get so much done today. I have managed to put WM on.

Im now sitting with my curtains closed as she says she will come back later? Feel like she stalking me now. Im such a wimp.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good morning everyone I have been offline for a couple of days as I was getting my study sorted out.My pal came down from Dartford on Tuesday and bless her she not only got the big wooden unit broken down to size so we could get it into my car and up the tip but she glossed all the paintwork twice and then emulsioed the walls with the first coat AND shampooed the carpet for me as well. She is an absolute star and she is coming one day next week to put the top coat on the walls. It looks so much better in ther and nice and bright and freash as well.My son-in-law picked me up a new monitor so the old one which was huge and bulky has gone to the tip as well and I have a smart new slim line one which is amazing as I can see things so much better on it.
I am only having a light soup and salad lunch today as my two lovely DDs are taking me out to dinner tonight I have no idea where but I have to be ready for 7.30.p.m. when I will be picked up.Its all 'secret squirrel' this week with the two of them giggling in corners. They have something up their sleeve for Sunday when its my birthday but they won't tell me what it is,very mysterious.
The weather is a bit milder at the moment but I still haven't seen any bulbs yet poking their heads up. Well time to get a wriggle on as I have lots of clearing up to do and I want to get my nets back up in the study ,although its nice to look out of the window as I can see across the River Medway from the back of the house, but its a bit distracting when i have to get some more of my essay done
    Have a good day everyone

Good morning everyone :) I have only been on here once, but life is starting to calm down so may be on a little more often.

This morning i woke up with a menu plan in my head and was feeling quite proud of myself! Last night i got home from work, feeling ill (have been feeling ill for a while now) but thought i should do stuff, so hung out the washing OH had put on before we left for work, and then made a sausage and bean casserole with jacket potatoes, so when OH got back from band practice his dinner was ready :)

So meal plan for the rest of this week and beginning of next week is:
Tonight: HM Chicken, sweetcorn and mushroom pie (leftover chicken from sunday roast :))
Friday night: HM Chicken curry (left over from monday night)
Sat: HM sausage casserole (leftover from last night :) )
    Sunday is unclear
    Monday: HM Macaroni cheese
    Tuesd: HM Bolognase
Wed: HM Lasagna with leftover bolognase

I think that is as far as i got, but we will prob have something with chicken thighs next week as well :)
I will get baking on saturday while OH does the hoovering. :)
WM is set to go on and finish just as we walk in from work tonight, then i will change the sheets and put another load on!!

Loads of washing up to do, but will get round to it soon as there are no clean pans!! Sorry sounds nasty, but we had friends round for dinner on monday night, and i felt really ill that day, but continued and made curry, dhal and fried aubergines. Then collapsed, on tuesday i was in bed by 6pm and didn't eat anything and last night i made the casserole and collapsed! So it will be done soon :)

Hugs to all who need them, have a good day everyone :)

Nice to see you leopardlady, and welcome missamoo!
jackio - I need your friend here - now! That's really lovely for you. I hope you have a lovely dinner this evening, and a great birthday on Sunday! Bulbs?? Well, hadn't set foot outside since early in the week until just now when I went to retreive the recycling bins from the gate - we have daffodil bulbs up that are 6" high! Really - half a ruler!! They've appeared from nowhere as DH and I were both commenting last week that in past years they'd already been visible. Ooh, lovely, my first sign of spring!
