I tend to go at least once a day. If my Post office run is early in the day and i get more sales (ebay or Amazon) before lunch then i might do a second run the same day.

With Amazon I like to post out quickly so would never leave it later than next working day after purchase and my ebay sales turn over quite quickly so I can have a good few parcels every day anyway.

What irritates me though is that Amazon require us to send our books out in 2 days, yet I'm still waiting for them to despatch some things direct from Amazon that I ordered 2 weeks ago.

a few got damp in my boot - i have dried them and they havent gone mouldy but are crinkly any tips on what to do or should i just list this in the description and try and sell them anyway?

I would list them as 'Acceptable' and state that they are water-damaged in the description and be specific about where the damage is visible.

Obviously price them accordingly but make sure you will still make a profit after fees and postage costs. :o

If they aren't saleable you could always try to swap them at www.readitswapit.co.uk as mentioned a few posts above. :)

Thank you I will try that! you can still read them and turn all of the pages etc so I think someone will buy them, - and they are very cheap onthe postage too! If i cant sell them on amazon i might try my luck justs elling them through someone still at uni!

 Sat on the floor, listing a load of books, and coming across sellers who have more than one copy of a book to sell listing each one individually. I seem to remember reading that this isn't allowed and that when listing, they should be marking the quantity box? Am I right? It is very annoying when they are somehow selling these books at 1p, and taking up the whole of the page!! These are new books, so there shouldn't really be any damage to note, and their listings each have identical wordings...

Yes Bella you are right and it is very annoying - a lot of the culprits seem to be bookshops as they are more likely I guess to have multiple copies. And yes, their descriptions often don't vary from book to book. I know if I try to relist a book or something I've already listed by mistake then I get a reminder that I already have the item listed so presumably these people ignore that. :naughty:

    Hi Bella,

Please feel free to report this seller to: sentinel@amazon.co.uk

They will remove the duplicated listings and make sure the seller takes up only one spot on the page, they are page-hogging which is not allowed under marketplace rules, so whenever you see it please report them and it will make things better for everyone. I usually see a change the same day or within a couple of days.

Just wanted to make it known that I don't like the 2 amazon threads, I liked it when it was just one long thread, I don't know which one I should be using half the time and we don't have anywhere near as many posts as we usually do, I would love for it to be merged into one if everyone is in agreement?

    If not just ignore me!

Hello. Had a good day today. I sold a CPU, Oscillating Desk Fan, another two pairs of 2-way radios and another floppy disk drive.

BTW, just out of curiosity, how do you join the official Amazon/eBay club?

Also, anyone agree it's high time a 'Beat the rip-off shipping charges' club was set up? Saw a company charging £22.50 for next day delivery today. Needless to say I was prepared to pay a little more for the item to pay only £10 for the next day shipping.

    Cheers and take care.

    Hussein.

I do understand why the split was made - so that the 'FAQ's' could be easily identified from the chat and I think it was a good idea. It is much easier to find the questions and answers.

But I tend to agree with Kat, some of the 'fun' seems to have gone and the chatty 'conversations' don't seem to be there anymore.

If there was a 'poll' I'd vote for it to be merged back into one.

  • I can see what you both mean, the idea of having the 2 defined threads was good but as FFN says both the fun and conversations have gone - having said that I think a few people are away at the moment - but there is something missing with this thread.

    So what do others feel?
