I agree with you - it feels a bit disjointed and does not "flow"."This site is addictive!"

I like it like this, I wouldnt have joined in if it was one big thread, they dont seem to be very (unintetionaly) unfriendly to the outside reader, heck I propably wouldnt have posted on here if it was one big chatting thread. A bit like how newbies stay away from the arms because they feel like they are intruding on something.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Is it just because it needs to be 'used' a little more? maybe everyone is holding back a bit because it's new and if it falls of the first page then it gets forgotten.0

I liked it as one. I'm not really sure where to post now. Before it seemed like a friendly get together to have a good old gossip about Amazon selling. I have never seen it as unfriendly or unwelcoming to others but i guess i have been around since about the beginning, even if i have only been sitting in the corner and not very vocal.0

I must admit I preferred it as one thread.
I don't post on here very often, but I read it most days and have gained so much useful info from it. There seemed to be much more chatting going on when it was one thread.
And even though the old thread was quite large the couple of questions that I've asked in the past have always been answered really quickly by one of the more experienced people.
I will, however, carry on reading it whatever the format.Sell £1000 challenge - £0/£1500 - No.80

I am seriously thinking of just leaving Amazon for a while and concentrating on newspapers for a while. Yes, items are selling, but I've had a lot of problems, some of which are my own fault (not checking the item properly) and some are external (supplier sent the wrong items, which I didn't verify (it wouldn't have been brand new then)), and also there's the whole "my item is grey, but on Amazon it's silver, so you can't sell it even thought it's as near as damnit the same thing.
I'm going to review all of my Amazon listings, to make sure they're all 110% kosher, remove those that may cause even the smallest problem and put them in my local paper.
Also, there's the whole thing about customers not reading the seller comment, then complaining when an item is not what they expected. I did have one very understanding one today, he's going to return the item I'll refund him and then I'll get refunded myself for the mis-sold item, but that's just one good thing that's happened.
I had a customer tell me my items were illegally being sold on eBay today. Apparently 2-way radios are illegal in the UK. Called up trading standards and they basically told me it's not illegal to sell the equipment, it's how the customer uses it that could make it illegal. Man what a week. Plus my internet died on me so that's just topped it all off.
OK, sorry for that rant, but it's all just going downhill lately. Money is one thing, satisfaction is quite another altogether.
Cheers and take care.

apprentice_tycoon wrote:I can see what you both mean, the idea of having the 2 defined threads was good but as FFN says both the fun and conversations have gone - having said that I think a few people are away at the moment - but there is something missing with this thread.
So what do others feel?
Far preferred old 1 thread format.
Easier to find and keep upto date with - can't be bothered so much now ... especially when MSE chat forums in general are all over the shop with their wonky format display ... most of the time I give up as they are pretty much unreadable without a headache ... so unlikley to search for other thread

Oh patwa it sounds like you have had a terrible week - i think it has happened to us all at one time or another.
It is a shame you are thinking of giving up amazon, I just wonder what kind of items you are selling that is prompting so many returns. I know that DVDs can be a big problem and mobile phones, books tends to be ok for most people in terms of complaints and returns.
Maybe you could explain some of the problems you have been having and we can try to help?
Unfortunately if you are listing an item that isn't exactly the same as amazon's you will find problems and likely to get returns because most customers don't read the comments boxes.
I don't know what your are selling but have you considered trying ebay?

Oh yeah so what is happening to this 2 thread thing then? It appears to be a consensus that everyone (except one new person - and I apologise to you) wants the thread to be merged into 1 so can that be arranged? Soolin can you do it or does it have to be the OP - apprentice tycoon?
It is definitely messing up the flow and I believe we are all missing out, because I have learned so much from everyone on this thread that I just don't want it to stop and I think it will as 2 threads.

Hi Kat, it seems as if the general feeling is that one thread, even though it's a bit of everything is preferable to 2 defined ones.
Soo is away on her hols at the moment so I'll see what Jo B thinks about merging it, it a BG job I'm afraid.0
