I don't think so.0

Guys, I have another question. We don't have a cat flap so she couldn't just sneak back in. If we're at work she's going to have to sit and wait for us. Even if we're in she's going to have to get our attention. Is this going to deter her from returning? She's never had a cat flap, she's always had to wait to be let in and out but i'm worried she won't hang around for long if she comes home and no-one is there.0

She will hang around!0

Still no news. Its been 10 days and missing her desperately. I've put an add in the local newspapers (which wasn't free). Also put some more posters up round the streets and at a local supermarket. I've found a rescue center that will lend me their trap so just going to continue to put the food out and call for her.0

So sorry you have lost your cat. I know how heart breaking it is.
I lost my cat a few years ago and the cats home gave me some good advice. They told me to go out early evening/morning when it is quiet and call for your cat, outside all the garages, walking around the neighbourhood. Apparently they cant hear you as well during the day becuase of all the traffic noise and general noise.
We did this after our cat had been missing for days and found him on a building site. We had already been out calling during the day but we only heard him and he only heard us in the early evening.
Really good luck, keep hoping x:A0 -
This thread has really made me sad.
Two years ago one of mine went missing.
I went and called his name every night (got some weird looks as his name is Bittie), put posters up, walked around the street shaking a tin off food etc.
We had given up hope, untill one night he just came in through the cat flap. He was a lot fatter and smelt very musty acting like he had never been away.
He has gone on little missing trips for a few days since but is back to normal now. I am sure your cat will come back. best of luck xx0 -
You need some re-assurance so here is a true story I posted in response to another post about a lost cat....
Think positive....she has not been found dead so she must be alive!
Ok...and here is my happy story.
6 years ago one of mine went missing. I did all the things you have done but after a couple of weeks hope faded and I became more reconciled.
Now at the time I had a job which brought me home around 2am 2 nights a week. One night I got out of the car and thought I heard a Murphy meow. I walked around and called out...then saw a strange cat slink away. Oh well.
Maybe 2 weeks later I again heard that same meow, very distinctive. Again I walked around the street calling and looking. The cries drew me to a neighbours house where I could clearly hear a cat responding to me...from the air brick ventilation under the house. I called his name...he called back
I hardly slept that night and counted the minutes till 9am the next morning when I went to knock on my neighbours door to explain that my cat was UNDER HER FLOOR BOARDS. She was an elderly lady, clearly thought I was absolutely crazy, deaf as a door post so could not hear the meaows, but did let me in to her house. I called out and heard that same faint meow again. So now i had to convince her to let me pull up her floor boards, she laughed in disbelief then sat down with a fag to watch me. I pulled up a board, reached a hand in and pulled out a very skinny dusty Murphy!
6 weeks he was missing, right across the road from me. Lord knows how he got under there, thankfully he had always been a good mouser and was right as rain after a few good big meals.
Don't give up!!!
Honest this is true!
2 neighbourhood cats went missing over the same weekend after Xmas this year....and they both turned up separately over the next few weeks!0 -
We have had some news. Yesterday a gentleman called me in response to one of my leaflets. He said my cat was in his garden. Being at work there was nothing we could do except ask him to try and feed her/keep her in his garden. We went round later and he is absolutely adamant it is her. She has been in his garden since Monday but retreats into the bushes at the end every time he approaches her. This is also where she emerges from each day and where she sits for most of the day. We called her but got no response so we've given him some tuna to feed her and keep her there until Saturday. Apparently, she turned up again today and ate the fish.
I must say, I remain extremely skeptical as there are so many black and white cats around. To top that off, I just had a call from the lady who said she saw Jack a couple of days after she went missing. The lady said my cat was in her garden this morning look a bit worse for wear but got chased off by her cats.
I was really hoping it was her at this guy's house but now I don't know what to think. I will follow up both leads0 -
Fingers crossed for you, hopefully you will find her soonMum of 2 adorable children & 2 cheeky cats who were born on 23.04.2009 :rotfl:0

Paddy if I remember rightly you posted that on my thread when Missy went Missing? It gave me hope & I got my happy ending!
OP - there are so many stories about cats being found. I really hope it's Jack in the man's garden. I had lots of false alarms but kept going and got her back in the end. Do you think the man would allow you to go around about 9pm one night? She may be more inclined to come out from her hiding place if it's you calling her and there is less noise around at that time of night.
I've got my fingers crossed for you x:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0
