No microchip or collar I'm afraid. My mum and me were just calling for an hour. Half way through we put some hot mackerel out and i heard a noise that sounded just like Jack. I was so convinced it was Jack I though she was going to come running. Then there was nothing else and she hasn't appeared. My boyfriend said the same thing happened a couple of nights ago. I think I'm going to have to brave it and knock on my immediate neighbours' doors and ask if i can search their gardens myself (rather than asking them to look).
Oh Yes, this is not a time to be shy! Whenever one of mine has gone missing over the years I have knocked on doors and invited myself in to search premises and gardens on several occasions....with great success I have to say...in fact I once had to pull up a neighbours floor boards to rescue Murphy who had got into the sub floor space!0 -
The food I put out last night wasn't touched this morning. It's now the 5th day. The worst thing is being stuck at work feeling like I can't do anything.
I had a couple more responses last night to the leaflets I put through doors. One chap said that it was fox mating season and my cat was probably dead. He also said he thought some woman he knows in his grove might have stolen Jack but he didn't seem to have much evidence for this.
Another lady said she'd thought she'd seen Jack in her back garden and she'll get her if she can but the discription didn't sound much like my cat.
All the sightings, apart from this last one, are in roughly the same area and all on Sunday. Nothing really since but it occurred to me; most people are sitting at home on a Sunday and more likely to notice a cat which may be why there were so many sightings. I saw a small black white cat in my garden on Sunday which wasn't Jack and there are so many black and white cats in my road. I just don't know where to focus my efforts.
My boyfriend left late for work today and though he heard jack again this morning.0 -
I accidently locked my neighbours cat in my shed on a sunday afternoon and didn't discover what i'd done til the following saturday
But he was fine, apart from hungry, and my neighbour was obviously delighted he had come to no harm. So don't give up.You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
When the cat please, please get him microchipped. It will save you a lot of heartache in the long run. Lost cats can then be returned to their owner in the shortest possible time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
We thought we saw her this morning eating the food we'd left out for her but by the time we'd caught sight of her she was already sprinting down the garden away from us. We've also heard the odd meow coming from the surrounding gardens when we've been calling. I've been reading another thread about trapping and may try this.0

Its been over a week now. I've started to put posters up over a larger area than the leaflets. I'm also leaving smelly food out every night at the same time. The food disappeared last night but I didn't see who was taking it. Also had some drunken idiots phoning me last night. I will try and get a trap from the cats protection tomorrow.0

Be careful not to leave any cat trapped overnight if it's freezing out, movement creates heat if they can't move they may get cold very quickly.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My cat went missing for 2 weeks and I stuck up posters, put leaflets through doors , informed Cats Protection and RSPCA who gave me some useful numbers. One number was for the local newspaper, i emailed a picture to them and they did a piece in their 'missing pets' section. I had a couple of false alarms then a lady called from a village 6 miles away. I thought he wouldn't have gone that far but went and had a look around, noticed the sheltered housing was run by the same Housing Association that owns my house but couldn't see him. Two days later the same lady phoned, she had lured him in with some cat biscuits! And it was my darling, a bit thinner but otherwise fine. It's my belief he went in a workman's van and got shut in, then got the shock of his life when he ended up so far from home the next time the door opened. I know how you feel, I couldn't even sleep without him. Please try the Cats Protection and RSPCA and any other numbers or ideas they have, it worked for me. He is microchipped but it didn't help in our case.0

Thanks, I'll phone the local newspaper tomorrow.
I have a question if anyone can help. We've been keeping my other cat in because they occasionally fought and we thought it might deter her from coming back. Our other cat is going crazy and is desperate to be let out. Is it going to make a difference whether our other cat is out or not?0
