My cat has been missing for 1 week - She's Been Found

I Left the food out last night at about 9.00pm then called her for half an hour. I also out the hoover bag contents over the garden. I checked at 11.30pm before I went to bed and the food was still there. I got up at 2.00am to check and the food had gone. God knows whether it was her. We left food out the night before and it wasn't touched. I'm going to stake it out tonight and see who is taking the food. My mum says she will come up and call for Jack tonight as well.
I'm going to leftlet and poster a wider area tonight incase she has gone further a field. She's very small and I wonder if someone has thought she is a kitten and taken her in. Although, i can't imagine her going up to somebody else.
Leah, I read you story and it gives me hope. Tonight will be the 5th night. I feel like my life is on hold.0 -
Was really hoping for good news
Don't give up hope though there are so many stories about cats coming home after months even! I don't really have any more suggestions but am keeping my fingers crossed.

Really hope you find her, and she has just been hiding away somewhere. Dont have any advice but didnt want to read and run as my cat disappeared for a night once and that was bad enough. Best of luck.0

I can understand how you feel. On Saturday there was a kitten of about 6 months old crying outside my window. I opened it and it was really crying to be in. i was getting upset for the poor little thing. My OH said to just leave it alone but i just couldnt. Out i went, Jarmas on, coat, hat, scarf. The poor little thing had eyes like saucers. The trouble was i couldnt bring her in as our cat would have had her by the throat.
I took her to my next door neighbours who are cat lovers and they fed him along with their 3 other cats, he was absolutely starving but there was an obvious problem with his back legs, he was not in any obvious pain but his legs were like Bambi's when trying to walk. He settled there for the night and my neighbour took him to the Blue Cross Centre.
The vet saw him there and no obvious broken bones but had obviously suffered a trauma to its back but they will try to rehouse him.
The point (sorry, this has been so long) is that i have not seen any cards in any shops, (there are lots of little newsagents round here)or heard anything about a missin g cat, so i can only come to the conclusion that the cat had been abandoned. The state fo the poor baby was awful. I purposely didnt put cards up myself because i thought the owner certainly hadnt fed him properly and the cat was far better off where he was.
Hope yours turns up soon.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The trouble is cats are such independant creatures, they have no idea you are worried about them. There have been so many desperate owners on these boards the same as your self and then days and days later there is an update
and the cats back. Try not to worry too much, they are really good at looking afterthemselves.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

sorry to hear about your cat, mine went mssing after new year gone for 4 days, then just strolled in like nothing had happened.
is your cat microchipped or have a collar?
sorry this might sound awful, but you should also contact your local council, environmental services, as if your cat has been run over (sorry to say it awful thought), they do keep registers i work for a coucil and we log all animal details, our dog warden will also scan for microchip's.0 -
No microchip or collar I'm afraid.
My mum and me were just calling for an hour. Half way through we put some hot mackerel out and i heard a noise that sounded just like Jack. I was so convinced it was Jack I though she was going to come running. Then there was nothing else and she hasn't appeared. My boyfriend said the same thing happened a couple of nights ago. I think I'm going to have to brave it and knock on my immediate neighbours' doors and ask if i can search their gardens myself (rather than asking them to look).0 -
Oh no, do your neighbours have sheds in there garden?? Its an easy mistake for them to climb in unnoticed, when my neighbour moved i was worried my kitten was going to go in her house and be locked in as he is so bold, so had to lock in the house till delivery van gone.
Fingers crossed you find JackMum of 2 adorable children & 2 cheeky cats who were born on 23.04.2009 :rotfl:0 -
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you .
One of our cats , smudge a tiny girl went missing a few months ago . I was frantic because she is small and quite timid with strangers. We looked everywhere for her and asked our neighbours if they had seen her. The next day we asked again and turned out she had got locked in there garage (right next door) they have a tumble drier in there and leave the door open when using it , but with her been so tiny they didn't see her the first time when they looked around. She was hungry but unharmed. If we hadnt had another look she could have been in there for days.
Great idea re-checking with everyone , and as said try and get them to do it whilst you are there, cats are so good at hiding...JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200
