Bank Charges Reclaiming Guide discussion

You lot make me sick - you know you are going to exceed your overdraft or that your cheque will bounce and yet you scream your heads off when the bank imposes their published charges for you doing so - What planet are you from?
Erm, bit of a rant isn't it? PUBLISHED? where? If you call the revised tables of charges that they send out periodically to all their customers 'published charges' then I don't get your point. Today those charges may say £1 a day, tomorrow they may revise them to £50 a day. So anything that may or may not be published means nothing as they revise as and when they see fit. Also, not everyone gets into trouble with charges through carelessness. No offence but, Might I enquire as to what planet you are from?0 -
i would just like to say i have been refused hardship by nationwide as my benefits wasnot getting paid into this acccount what shoulfd i do thanks do i resubmit the new letter template:rotfl::rotfl:0

Having been offered a partial settlement from Barclays, I have gone to FOS for the whole amount requested.
On what basis? Would the amount offered have alleviated/eased your financial hardship(I am assuming this is financial hardship or am I incorrect)?
Have they explained how they have come to the offer they have given?0 -

Martins template letters state you should include a list of charges, but i cant really do this,, any ideas???
Why can't you include a list of charges?0 -

Can you explain further?
Are you getting benefits paid into a different account? are priority creditors(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities) being paid from the account you are reclaiming from?0 -

You mean make a list of the charges & interest from the statements they have sent thru?0 -
I've made a list of the charges manually from lookiing over the statements they sent to me, good job i did cuz i added it up wrong first time around, i've now double and triple checked it so i know its right.
total interest - £717.09
total charges - £1440.70
total - £2157.79
gonna drive past the bank later so i will post it myself, (atleast then i know they've got it)
I wonder what they'll say...

I am in financial hardship, what annoys me is the fact that LLoydTSb have told me that the charges for a returned direct debit were £35.00, yet they have taken £385 for a returned direct debit. This has absolutely nothing to do with fairness. If something was for sale in a shop for £10.00 you wouldn't hand over £100. If a charge is £35.00 then they should have taken £35.00. LloydsTSb should admit they were wrong and stop hiding behind the supreme court ruling.:mad:0 -

ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Lloyds Tsb have been a brick wall full stop. And since the ruling have just been laughing at people. And the OFT suck! They have completely copped out as far as I can see. There seems to be virtually no support whatsoever anymore. I know there are still some 'winners' filtering through which Is hopeful for many BUT, none of these are LLOYDS TSB customers. (oops! did I say customers? I meant VICTIMS). Well I say no Lloyds Tsb winners, tiny ones maybe, but no serious figures unlike other banks. However, I would strongly suggest that people still pursue LLoyds Tsb through the FOS. It's still worth it, it still notches up the compaints and I truly believe that eventually Lloyds Tsb will be taken to task over customer complaints. I have mine in with the FOS also but as it's Lloyds Tsb I am expecting nothing more than a resounding GO AWAY! I just decided to not give up because I believe in adding a number to the complaints figures.0 -

If the published price is £35, that is all they should have deducted.
If they have taken £385, that would clearly be an error and a quick call would certainly see that addressed.
But I suspect there's more to this story ..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
