Well it's good that you are paying things off. You will get there in the end.
I'm assuming that you wrote as per my response to your last posting. Not so good that it's 6 weeks and no reply. Presume the recorded letter was received?
In any case, I should get the quill and ink out this weekend and get your Manager's letter delivered for Monday:D
The FOS are inundated. However, don't give up. Just keep at it. Good luck
Mo
Just an up date I had a call from overseas call centre again and they said that I was due bank charges back on my account and been a customer for many years. Dont know how much at the moment as I was cut off the phone by them.
Thanks Mo for the support I shall keep you all posted of any updates:j I feel a big weight coming off my shoulders and I am not working all for nothing any more. Life feels more comfortable and affordable.
All your advise is paying off and the quill and paper working. I been depressed over these charges for years and so
fustrated. Being dyslexic does not help either. Difficult to get the info you want on paper. This forum has help me a great deal:T0 -
Hello,
Could someone offer some advice on this please? I have referred a lender who we had several loans with to the Ombudsman. The reason for the referral is that the lender says they no longer have records of whether we had PPI on the loans. Now every other loan we had with other companies did and we have successfully reclaimed against them.
The lender who I have the dispute with can tell me the loan amount, term, interest rate and sum payable and start dates but not whether we had PPI or not. As we repaid the loans, we destroyed the original paperwork. The loans go back 8 or so years, is this a reasonable position the lender has adopted and will we succeed with the Ombudsman? I heard recently of someone who had persued a claim without the details and the lender had records going back 15 years.0 -
can anyone advise me how far back I can go to reclaim. I remember going into the bank about £10 yrs ago as my card was declined and spoke to the customer advisor who said to me that he wasnt supposed to show me (but he did anyway!) that even though I had a £300 overdraft they would honour payments up to £650!!!!. I was only working in a supermarket and that was about my monthly pay!!. Would it be worth while me trying to claim these charges back, I have been through a dmp and have just become debt free after claiming my ppi back.... Thank you0

I'm in the process of calculating my bank charges to try and reclaim them from my Bank. I have three accounts with the same bank, is it advisable to do one letter combining my claims or to write a separate letter for each account?

Hi,
i wrote to Barclays regarding just over £3000 in bank charges/reserve fees etc stating financial difficulty - with the fact that it has gotten so bad that we can hardly afford to eat, bills are coming back unpaid, and that im going on maternity leave in 2 weeks meaning a considerable drop in wages and also looking at redundancy whilst on maternity, so my situation is just going to get 1000 times worse.
They phoned me very quickly after to say i wasnt eligable for refund and they are going to send a letter out confirming this.
I have just written letter to FOS so cross my fingers that they can help as it would help me a hell of a lot. if not then think i might have to look at bankrupcy

Can I ask, what was the sudden and unexpected drop in salary that you incurred that put you into the financial hardship you claim to be in?
I agree, it doesn't sound good does it? What with another mouth to feed soon and a possible total loss of salary.
You will, of course be entitled to child benefit when the child is born, and don't forget the father should also be supporting the upkeep of the child.
I suggest you post tour SoA on the Debt Free Wannabe board before things get any worse, There's lots of people happy to help you get on top of your debts over there.
Good luck and take care0 -
My account was closed and passed on to a debt collecting agency which I am paying. If the account is closed am I still able to claim charges back?0
