Hi folks...Looking for some help here!!

I have been with the LTSB since i left school, i'm now approaching 46 yras young ;-)

Anyway i had submitted a claim and about a week or two later all claims were put on hold and i recieved a latter stating that i wouldn't be getting anything!! :-(

At the moment i'm finding it difficult to pay some bills and some direct debits are being returned, my wife and i are using our CC to buy stuff for the kids and sometimes to even pay bills.

Anyway i would like to know if any of you have had any recent results with the TSB??

I have also read that someone wrote directly to the CEO of the TSB and managed to get a result.

Is it still worth re-submitting a claim? or should i write to the CEO (if so could i have the address please)

    Many thanks

And a Happy New Year to you all!! :-)

I, too, was with LTSB since leaving school but I dropped them a couple of years ago because they were so unhelpful.

My response is back in the thread a ways but I've had good and bad results from them. The main accounts people rejected my claim for charges off-hand (as I expected them to) and the loans people sent me forms for PPI claims (duh) BUT the credit card people accepted my request completely. At about 99% of the amount I asked for, EVEN including all those little £12 charges they're "allowed" to make. This has given me leverage on the main accounts people.

Don't take "no" for an answer. Their first response is ALWAYS "no". Just ask again, with another reason - even something as simple as "I'd really like to sort this out with you rather than the Ombudsman".

That's my advice, anyway. But then I've been fighting Lloyds for over 3 years.
  • Had another success with cc PPI reclaim - Barclaycard - £15537 Very Very Happy so far claimed back £22237.00 Thanks so much for the encouragement and support from everyone on here.

Could anyone that has been successful possibly share their financial hardship letter with me, as I have so much to put down but need some guidance as I really need the money back.

Am happy to Paypal a 'drink' over to someone for the help?????

    Thanks
  • Just checked the amount paid to me from barclaycard and they've paid me twice. They found in my favour £8269 but I still had A o/s balance of approx £1455.00. They sent me a letter two days after paying me the original refund into my account but two days later sent me another letter saying my bcard account was now settled in full, and my account was in credit to the tune of £6700 and to telephone to arrange a refund of the credit amount. Which I duly did! What shall I do? Sit still and wait? How long do they have to ask for their money back?

    morning all.
after reading through alot of the information on the site about reclaiming bank charges i've decided that i have nothing to loose by trying a claim myself.bank charges have become one of my biggest worries and i believe i qualify on the grounds of hardship and the fact that i am stuck in a cycle of charges that i can't break out of.
anyway, this morning i spoke to a very helpful lady at barclays and she is sending my a list of all transactions for the last 6 years at a cost of £5.
i'll let you know how i get on.

Hi I put my first claim in with TSB back in September, the claim was for a loan I had only paid for eight months then paid it off. I had the claim upheld 12th December and the money in my account on the 19th December. I still have another two claims in with TSB which I should hear about in the next couple of weeks hopefully they will be upheld too!!!

    Good luck and keep trying

I have not had success and I'm still waiting to hear about my claims(been a hard struggle up to now and some are with FOS now) but I believe that no one else's letter would be of use to you as everyone's circumstances are different.

Hardship happens for all sorts of reasons.
Basically people reclaim their charges on hardship grounds because:

    1) During the time of the operation of the account (even if it has been closed) you were struggling to pay your bills and everyday living costs because you were out of work??

    2) Because of illness you were unable to work and found you were getting into financial difficulties which spiralled out of control??

    3) You were in a low paid job and were finding it your living costs exceeded your income therefore the bank charges left you in a situation you could not get out of.

Some or all of the above might apply to you and of course, there may be other factors involved to declare too. Sit down and think long and hard about why you incurred the charges you want to reclaim. As well as being in financial difficulties now, to be able to put in a claim, you must have also been in financial difficulties at the time the charges were added otherwise the banks will not entertain the claim and just think you have mis-managed your account/s.

You need to state the facts just as they were and as they are now in a straightford, truthful manner. Check out the hints as to some of the possible reasons on the FOS financial hardship area of MSE site.
You don't have to be a literary whizz, just write it and send it off.
