Hi all - can't believe you chatterboxes have already done 3 more pages since my last visit. Not sure why I haven't received any updates. Must have messed up my thread subscription button. Doh!!!

Anyways - I lost my job today so guess that will curb my shopping for a while!

OOOh! That's not a very nice second post is it. lol I'm a firm believer that these things happen for a reason though - so am quite positive. LC

Sorry to hear that little chicken, its an horrible thing :(

Completelylost - lets swap mums? I am like your mother, we will shop all day, and even if I looked in Asda 3 days ago I still need to go and have another look lol. My mum would call it her sheer hell to be dragged round the shops that long, might suggest it to her on the phone tonight and see her reaction haha.

Well ladies - I can honestly say, I don't think ive ever been so drunk :O I very very rarely drink, last time I got drunk was last July on Holiday. Last night i drank a bottle of rose wine and nearly a bottle of white wine - two bottles :( I can't remember getting in bed but i swear its a good job i can't drive, i think im a little tipsy today still :O

Day in today, need to claw some 02 phone money back plus I spent a wee too much yesterday all in all, as I ended up treating my student friend to a KFC lol.

Oh no :( Hope you find something soon, LC. I think I'd find it hard to be so positive if faced with that news!

NGLady - trust me, my mum would tire out even the most diehard shopper :o
I hope you're not feeling too hungover today :)

I really should get dressed. I have a mountain of parcels that need posting... but that means having to walk into town in the freezing cold (or pay £2 busfare). Hmmm!

Haha just a general junk food addiction!
If I walk past a corner shop, I used to always nip in for a bar of choccie or pack of crisps, I've started to reign this habit in a lot now though!

I'm also guilty of when I finish work on a late at 8pm, I'll nip to the McDonalds thats on the way home

Thanks for letting me join, seems like a lovely board, and if I can't GO shopping, at least I can talk about it!

Yep - your deffinatly one of us Zar lol.
It is daft, but what really helps me is having to reveral my daily purchasing. Yesterday I went to the shops, and I actually thought to myself "How do I explain this - whats my justification" so whilst it does come across as a bit too much info, it is genuinely helping me, as I didnt buy half of what I would have normally :)

  • Hi Zar!:j

I used to do this too... waste a bit here and there, always thinking, I can't afford a pair of shoes, so instead I'll treat myself to a lipstick etc. My debt at LBM was £42k... basically spent on clothes, makeup, magazines, wine, food etc.

Or as I like to think about it now, a 25% deposit for my flat, or two brand new cars, or 4 Chanel couture evening dresses, or 4 weeks including first class flights on Richard Branson's Necker Island or have as much plastic surgery as Jordan (not quite so appealing :rotfl:) or 84 pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes...

I always thought I couldn't afford any of them, but I managed to spend the same amount £10 here or £5 there....so really, I could have had any of the above.:(

I have decluttered, stopped stockpiling cosmetics and books, buying rubbish in the sales which I never wear etc, but the hardest battle I am fighting is not to let small amounts of money (which add up to huge amounts) trickle through my fingers. Am trying to have as many NSDs as possible.

Today though I'm off to buy a chandelier for my bedroom - £150 - for which I have been saving up all year the vouchers I get from doing online surveys... am really proud that I have kept them and not spent them on juicy tubes and blusher! :T:) I have been looking forward to my shopping trip all day!!:D
