Great! Is it you who lives far away from your family and doesn't like living where you do? Or was that with your ex?'The road to a friends house is never long'0

NGLady - I think the others are right, you're best off spending on something to take your mind off it, not make yourself feel guilty by spending more on clothes. Going for a meal sounds like a nice idea. I've started baking recently (haha I know, I sound like a right old nana) and find it very theraputic/distracting, and it's also good to feel like I've achieved something
If I were you I'd spent a little on some nice ingredients and bake yourself a cake.
Hmmm well, today has been an all-round FAIL. Bought a few things on flea'bay. I know, I know... One of them I saw in store a few months ago and I liked it back then, so bought it for 99p plus p&p (it was over £30 in the shop). I also bought a bag which I do need. The third item... well, I can't justify that one, other than 'it was cheap'.
I need to be banned from ebay. But then if it wasn't for ebay I wouldn't have any way to sell my stuff. Catch-22. I listed 7x skincare bits and have sold two already... I'm trying to make back the money I spent today! Have made about £8 so far, so just another £19 to make my purchases money-neutral :S
I'm going out with my mum tomorrow (providing I get an early night and don't feel hideous in the morning)... I've written a list of things that I actually *need* so am determined not to buy anything other than the things on the list.0 -
ahahha anglea you made me laugh
completelylost... you are doing well selling ur own stuff. !
Everytime i go to London, i get this feeling as i look at everything with big eyes.. like i can not believe i am here...( i like cities) and when it comes to something new to me that i do not know how to use.. i think i wonder if people can tell that i come from being around cows and sheep !... ahaha then the next thing is... i can not stand crowds... when i am in town, here near home.. it is relaxing, not many queues or anything... relaxing, walking with my dd..
I must say when i just moved here.. i can not stand to have a nap knowing that the door was unlocked.. my in laws could not understand ... i came from a big city.. so i had to watch every bit of my belongins.. hahahaMejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

Hi all
Souk, yes it was me that said I lived in an area that was a culture shock. In fact most people have never heard of it until some years ago it ended up in all the papers because of a most unusual crime - too unsavoury to write on here
- but it's countryside related!!
How are you doing today with flea-bay Completelylost?
Today is a NSD apart from the dentist - you know that abcess I had - it wormed its way right under the dodgy tooth and I had an extraction. 5 lots of anaesthetic, so it'll probably take all day to wear off. I've got vanilla slim fast to drink.
I was looking through some fashion mags before I left the dentist as I felt a bit shaky to walk home and spotted an advert that immediately reminded me of this thread.
The advert said 'do you like fashion?' - and it was for a course to become a Personal Shopper and Image Consultant. It looked interesting. I wrote down the details and can post it here if anyone is interested.0 -
Sounds awful at the dentist Angela. Hope you feel better soon. I've actually had a non spend day for a change. Have stayed in on my day off and caught up with the ironing. Very exciting!0

Hi all,
Well I did overlay this morning so that meant my initial plan of going somewhere a little distance from home (Im a geek i love train travel lol) for a wonder round and some dinner didnt really happen. So I ended up going to Alfreton, a local town to me, where I had some chippie chips open and they was lush with a bottle of coke
(£2.60 bargain lol) and then, i went into this sweet shop and they sold... wait for it... VIMTO BOM BOMS, i havn't seen these in years!! so I spent £2 lol.
Then I went into Dorothy Perkins, and brought a lovely big clutch bag. Its a lovely summery yellow colour, with padding and big enough to fit everything in. I don't really have a summery cluch, so bargain at £3
Then I went into WH smith and treated myself to the GOK book for a fiver
Then I went into Tescos, fantastic deal huge easter eggs for £3 (one with a cup a bag of mini creame eggs and a big creame egg, said £6 on shelf but as actually £3!! bargain) also as I might feel lonely tonight and fed up I have brought myself a bottle of wine to well ill be honest get drunk and forget lol i dont have much wine knowledge so brought a cheap white one
lol £3.05 (if it does its job its wine
lol)
So total spend £22. Considering i have a daily allowance of £10 anyway, an additional £12 isnt bad, was expecting it to be much much worse!!Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Well done NGLady. Which Gok book did you buy? I Love Gok on TV, but haven't got any of his books.0
