I LOVE Threadless tshirts. What did you do with them? I don't think I could part with mine (I only have a few).
edit: thought you'd binned them, then reread your post.

I had a LOT of T-shirts. I put them up for sale on a forum I post on - I still have loads left as there were 34 to go! But I've made some cash on something I would never wear, and other people get something they will, so it's all good.

Does anybody else ever have the "urge" to overdress? Today, I am going shopping and Im just really itching to wear this Aline (sticks out skirt) and basque top with knee boots and tights lol. Completely overdressed for Derby, but im itching to do it lol.
I also love the boyfriend cardy looks :) Love to dress it with some jeans, im too fat for skinnies tho lol.
At the moment, I tend to dress in Dark Colours :) Thing I hate about dark colours is, I have really bad sirisis on my neck, and naughtily when im nervous or something I itch it, so it looks really really really bad lol.
First time ever though ive wrote a bit of a shopping list for staples I need to buy :)

  • I'm probably quite bit older than most of you, and it's difficult to know what to wear. I can't wear very short skirts or leggings now. I can wear knee length skirts with thick tights and I have got 2 pairs of skinny type jeans which I can wear with longer tops.I've have got a pair of Uggs which are so comfortable. My charity shop jacket was expensive but it's in great condition and Windsmoor are very expensive new. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it during the Spring. Would have had a non-spendday yesterday but OH wanted to book to go to cinema for his birthday on Saturday. Trying to work on the non spend days!

I'm wondering if a basque top is what I think it is as I would have thought that you are going out underdressed, not overdressed - what are you putting on top of it?

verynewmoneysaver - I like Windsmoor too.

Another cost of being well dressed - When I was much young and working I used to always wear all the smart, classic brands which cost a fortune then discovered that some people I knew started doing some work from home making skirts for these companies, so I could use their discounts - that was good. However, I was horrified to hear how little they got paid - pence !! for making the skirts.. And contrast that to the staggering prices in the shops.

mippy -Lol about your colleague. He must also have a good bank balance as I remember going into a shop that sold high heeled boots and shoes for men and they cost a fortune.

mags - I rarely go to the city as it's £10 bus fares and I always return without anything as there is too much choice with clothes, it gives me a headache as I want to buy everything :) Plus there is WH Smiths and I 'have' to to get a book or a number of expensive mags..

    Have a good day everyone.

Basque top as in the dress is fitted lol. I havnt got it out the wardrobe since last september and its less fitted than I thought. Oh god as anybody seen the new trend?! You wear underwear as outterwear :O

It is harder to shop in the city/big shops. I went to meadowhall on sat and i couldnt find anything cos the shops are huge, derby isnt so bad and mansfield although tiny you are guranteed to find an outfit :)

Haha, no, I'm trying to look more grown-up at work and as I'm nearly 28 don't feel that cute T-shirts at work really work for me now.

As for bras...I never wear non-wired. I find Freya work very well for me. The guy across from me at work is a drag queen and, even though he knows a fair bit about women's clothes/makeup, can't believe how much underwear costs me.

I love Freya too, they fit really well and I especially love the Arabella, I have it in every colour they have made.

Two of my best friends are drag queens and they are ace for tips on makeup etc. I love them dearly! They often pinch my tops as they fit them.....:rotfl:

I live in boyfriend casrdies! I have one in browndark/green/black/grey and I've just ordered one in purple as I have decided to try more bright colours (well, purple is bright to me :o). As for being too fat for skinny jeans - I am a size 16/18 in trousers and if anything, I think they make me look slimmer than I do in bootcut jeans :)

I'm not sure how/if it's possible to cut out little expenses like these, yes they add up but I find it's so depressing to not be able to buy absolutely anything. It's not always practical either. If I am out shopping for a few hours sometimes I need a drink or to sit down for a bit, hence the coffee shop habit.

I'm quite girly but I wear all of those things too. You could wear the flat boots, opaque tights with a tea dress and a boyfriend cardigan.
That's true... I find it impossible to not spend at least £5 a day on things like that.

Oh, and that's the sort of look I am aiming for - just a vest plain jumper or tea dress with tights and flat boots. I said above, I have soo many boyfriend cardigans so really only need a dress. It's finding one that I feel comfy in that's the problem.

Really am going to make more of an effort with colour though. On Bigwardrobe I'm trying to get some more girly clothes - at least if I don't wear them, they haven't cost me anything and I can always swap them again.

Anyway! today's spends are £1.09 - on a can of sugarfree Red Bull. I won't be going out again so that's all I'll be spending today. I did try on a nice long top in Asda - stripey with a big skull in the middle. It had shoulder pads though, which I wasn't sure about.

That top sounds nice, might call into Asda on the way home :)
