really ? now i need to ask which one was ?
My little DD speaks english perfectly ( she is 2 1/2) and very little spanish when i speak with my family at home, although she does understand what i am talking about and the cheeky monkey says " i don't understand" when she does not want to do something.

what you have wrote reminded me of something I did... My Oh was working as a sales man in the Orange phone... there was this guy who kept saying he could speak in spanish perfectly ( My oh speaks good spanish) My oh quite did not believe him.. so he and a friend arranged for me to get into the shop and speaks spanish non stop.. the guy was mortified he kept pressing the bottom for my oh to come to serve me ( he didnt now i was his wife) it was soooooooo funny, he had a good laugh... he said he did not care if the spanish flag was taken away from him.( n his shirt it means the languages they can speak). cos he can speaks german... lol

I haven't spent anything except on food. I seem to have lost my joie de vivre at the moment and I just feel that I could sleep for a week.
I hope you are feeling a bit better now and that you've managed to catch up on your sleep salesaddict. Everything always seems worse when you are tired. jhy41y.gif

  • Hi everyone. Have just discovered this thread and spent the last hour or so reading through it, not finished yet! All of you sound like me. I am a shopaholic (a bit reformed but, like an alcoholic, the disease will always be there!) and a little bit addicted to crisps. I'll post properly when I've caught up with all the posts, I just wanted to say hi.

Just one thing that has helped me when I see something I want (as opposed to need, even though I can often disguise it as a genuine need) is to think how long I have to work to pay for the item. Sometimes I no longer want the jumper or whatever when I realise I've had to work a whole day to pay for it.

I'll be back soon. I love this thread!

How do you manage with this Mippy and joesaunt?

Mippy, another question - are you going to buy more t-shirts or just leave it now?

Haha, no, I'm trying to look more grown-up at work and as I'm nearly 28 don't feel that cute T-shirts at work really work for me now.

As for bras...I never wear non-wired. I find Freya work very well for me. The guy across from me at work is a drag queen and, even though he knows a fair bit about women's clothes/makeup, can't believe how much underwear costs me.

Saw this which may be of interest:

"Well, I have a £15,000 overdraft limit at NatWest and a £8,000 limit at Santander. I also owe £19,000, £10,000, £1,000 and £12,000 (please don't make me add them all up) on various credit cards, a £50,000 bank loan and a mortgage so huge I can't bring myself to write it down. I haven't looked at my new tax bill, but became quite scared when my agent phoned me last week to say: 'Liz, you do know the Inland Revenue can make you bankrupt in a day?'"

Liz Jones does my head in - I feel she'd benefit more from therapy than a newspaper column - but may interest some.

    Hi all,

It's good to read all the new posts. Re problems with clothes with a large chest.

I don't think if you look at me you would automatically think I'm big, but my bra size is virtually impossible to get so I just buy those t-shirt crop tops from the Empire catalogue that you don't need cup sizes for. I had a huge dilemma with Sports bras and used to just wear 2 ordinary bras on top of each other with bandages at one stage!

Finally I bought a couple of expensive ones that were a B cup not an A and thought I could sew them to fit, however, I lost some weight and now they are miles too big!

I never wear underwired so this may be the reason for problems.

Lisainglasgow - what kind of bracelet did you make?

NGlady - how nice, a free lunch. Returning all those items. Do you ever use that money for something other than clothes?

Hairdresser - Like you, I also consider that we are paying them to pamper us - not talk to us. I suppose you could say you've got a migraine. Hope that you like your hair in a few days time.

Me -before I left the house I phoned Betterware as I missed their delivery last week and arranged to leave my cash under the doormat - poor bloke £6 in small coins!
Also took out bags of 10p's. I decided to allow myself a treat after no books in Feb, and bought one for a pound. When I was counting out the cash, the assistant asked if I'd raided my piggy bank. I replied she ought to be glad that I didn't have my 1p's LOL

I made a Alice in Wonderland inspired charm bracelet, with a white rabbit in a picture frame, 2 keys to symbolise the 2 doors that Alice goes through, hearts to symbolise the King and Queen and to finish I am waiting on a working watch face (I'm late, I'm late). It's my favourite bracelet so far!

@Salesaddict Hope you're ok. You need to take care of yourself. I know you've said you get up for work at 5.30am and now you're spending loads of time in the hospital too. That all sounds so stressful:grouphug:
Had a nice weekend away. Got a Windsmoor tweed virgin wool jacket in charity shop for £9.99. It will be lovely for spring.

I can't picture what this looks like. Is it something that would have cost a lot at full price? It sounds very expensive.

So perhaps you need to think about your house situation from another perspective. You have the security of your own place (to sell if necessary), and financing and looking after it gives you purpose in life.
    .

I know, I'm actually really lucky to have my own home, I know it's what many people on various threads on here are working towards. I got it 2 years ago when the banks were happily lending to everyone. I most likely wouldn't get the mortage now, lending seems to have almost stopped in Ireland for the moment. It's just that I have so little money for myself now that it gets me down sometimes.

I'm almost 32 but I'm not into looking grown up. I base my look on people like Danii Minogue. Last summer I wore a Disney/Mickey Mouse t-shirt with skinny jeans and converse or flip flops and got loads of compliments on it.

    @lisainglasgow the bracelet sounds fabulous

I think so long as you feel comfortable in what you've got on, and the figure for it, age doesnt really bear any bearings on clothing. Im in my early 20s and to be honest things i would have wore 5 years ago, I still love but i dont have the figure for anymore, if I was slim enough id be living in this seasons lovely pinks :) admittedly however a 60year old in a belt of a skirt a teen would wear is somewhat of an exception to this rule lol.
