    Hi all

    I think it's so quiet because there's a shopping spree at M & S :)

Mags, re your house. Your post reminds me when I was young my Dad tried to persuade me to buy the house next door to us as it was a bargain and I was horrified at the long term responsibility. The price was extremely cheap as it was very run down and my dad was going to help out. I refused outright, but in later years it was worth a fortune as the road we lived was very posh and our homes backed the woods. I've had some regrets about that now because when I eventually did get married, I moved across the country to a life that felt totally alien. If I'd bought the house I would have stayed in that area..

Also even though you say you don't want marriage or children, doesn't mean that it will stay that way. I always said that too and did the complete opposite!

So perhaps you need to think about your house situation from another perspective. You have the security of your own place (to sell if necessary), and financing and looking after it gives you purpose in life.

Completelylost - Boots hitch - say no more :) That cake sounds lovely - although I wouldn't be able to eat it - allergic to choccie. I don't think I've heard of that recipe before.

What colour is the jacket -verynewmoneysaver? Is it the traditional colour or other?

Well done Morocha on your NSDs.

I've got to go out later to the post office will take another bag of loose change as that location is a charity shop hotspot and I've now finished my book challenge.

Hope you all have a good day.

Hi all ... me again... sorry for a slow responce, had quiet a busy weekend :) Sorry for the long reply lol. And if ive already replied to bits... sorry haha.

So to respond to some points - ive tried to pick up where i left but cant really find the point i left lol.

Morocha - if we was to ever meet for a shopping trip it would be quite a dangerous day, especially with Angelas big bags of coinage! (Very good idea by the way, I wouldn't as I would spend half the day being too shy to hand them over lol)

I think it was completelylost (Sorry if it wasnt u cant find the post now lol) who asked me about Internet dating? I have been doing it for a little while, and it is a nice way of meeting new people. On certain websites, there is the ability to send a automated no thankyou email which when I first recieved used to knock me a little, but now I just laugh them off so you do have to have the ability to laugh at it. Always be safe though, meet in public places and I guess just be honest online, talk to people and get to know people and generally have a laugh with it. It is always a lovely feeling when somebody online gives you a compliment, how daft is that?!

Ms_London what a achievement to pay all of that off! I think its wonderful how honest you are about how it was acrewed a lot of people try and make excuses for it.

I think I am a people chaser! I tend to attract the "interesting" people on the bus/train in the queue and I like to try and make chit chat with people.

Good luck EJ with the £180 to last the month. I always break down whatever money ive got, and have X per day, so if theres 30 days you have £6 per day, mix this with lots of NSD's and you have a bit to have a treat with at the weekend. I was in sheffield train station this weekend, and I was doing the walking round that papershop picking the books up thing, reading the blurb and was so tempted, but the book i wanted was huge and wouldnt have ever fit in my handbag, so I resisted!!

And velocity what a brilliant OH you have :) Really taking control over your shopping habbits. Do you find sometimes, you actually need maybe not just in spending, but other things, like maybe loosing weight etc, you need somebody to grab you by the hand and help you through it? When I was younger and lost some weight, I had a good friend who (I was at school at the time) I was friends with for years, so everyday I gave her my dinner money, and everyday she would go and get me the healthiest thing she could find from the Dinner stand therefore eliminating any risk of chip cobs!! lol. And yay a wedding :D saving up for the lovely things for the wedding is surely a lovely motivation to not spend the odd £1 there and the odd fiver there :)

Well I had my hair done. It looked lovely on the day I had it done :) But I wasnt in love with it the day after, it does take a little while. And because I go blonde, at first it is a little harsh so it takes a couple of washes for it to settle :)

Angela I understand completely what you mean about the interogation. I take a couple of magazines to the hairdressers with the hope of her not making small talk with me. It feels like I am very much paying her to talk to me :S does that make sence, i dont want that lol. So I will make a little small talk but it feels very awkward. I go somewhere with only one hairdresser, and theres normally another lady in the other chair, so the hairdresser does try her hardest to involve everybody in a convo, but i dont want to :S leave me alone haha.

I went to meadowhall. And... are you all sat down! I did really well. I took a bag of loose change i've got, and fed that into the self service ticket machine :) I had a free lunch and I returned £90 worth of things, and spent £8 on some leggings I really needed. To say it was my intention to have a bit of a splurge I was very pleasently suprised. I really didnt feel like it on the day :S Just felt too busy and I didnt have the energy :) Ah well, Money left and debs giftvouchers left for the sale on wednesday :D

Angela yeah, the boring things you dont get the thrill from I hate buying :( I did this the other day, went to Asda on the 4 for £3 deal, and brought the boring things, nail varnish remover, female things, razors etc which I hate buying, now im stocked up until about June lol.

Completelylost - How similar are you to me lol.
I am exactly the same with returning items!! I travel to the other stores too, as I keep thinking oh if i keep going into the Derby Oasis/next/whereever there going to recognise me and there going to think im up to no good, so ill go to other stores. I hate it when they look at you when ur returning things as if to say ... aha ur that crazy lady with the shopping adiction who cant afford a shopping adiction so you get ur fix then return ur fixes.

Your mum is completely opposite to mine though. I think the reason I didnt buy anything on Saturday was my mum can think of a reason not to buy absoloutly anything. Its quite hillerious really lol.

Morocha - what a sodding pig on Ebay. Similar to a situation ive had recently, admittedly mine was only a £8 lost. I recieved some shoes, and aswell as the nude colour to them, they had ink on them, I wrote to the buyer, she offered me a £2.50 refnd im like heck no! so I reported to paypal etc, well I won the case, then emailed the seller to ask for her address... guess what... no reply! so the case was closed I lost the money. Which I suppose in the grand scheme £8 isnt anything really, but it was the moral behind it!

  • Well done everyone - you are all doing really well! I got a load of jewellery bits to the house on friday as well as a new coat that I have been waiting on. The coat needed the buttons repostioned which was a bit annoying but it was really cheap! I made a bracelet and have done some other wee bit at the weekend - I didn't go out so I had 2 NSD but I have made up for it by buying a new set of scales - how exciting! I am a bit sad but I love buying homeware - I love to feather my nest!

    Why salesaddict?

I remember getting really pervy attention from weird looking men - comb overs, strange coloured bad suits :), shorter blokes whose eye line match my chest, that horrible man that wore beige shorts and used to put his hand down my back.at every opportunity.........you get all those as well as decent looking blokes :rotfl:

I wonder what mippy's take is on this subject.

I am 5' 5" blonde, blue eyed and have a 36ff bust. I have met all of the men described above, why do they think I like them talking to my chest. I can sympathise with you Angela, why would anyone want a chest like this, and I have a size 12/14 waist so buying dresses are impossible!

Not at all Mags, honestly feel sorry for women who obviously don't give a toss about their appearance and don't think they're mega confident at all, just that they can't be bothered! Just my opinion.

forgive me, but this sounds really odd to me. Different people have different priorities, and those who 'don't give a toss' may feel sorry for those who feel the need to use make-up and wear heels every day. I don't use fake-tan, don't always shave my legs/armpits unless I need to, and spent yesterday without a scrap of makeup on when I went to the cinema with my OH. I wanted to spend the time making breakfast and chatting.

Haha! Poor bust-obsessed men. I have seen men walk by me blatantly staring at my chest...then they look up to see me staring them straight in the eye. Though in the winter I'm more covered up in knitwear.

Speaking of busts, I culled half my T-shirts last night -t hings I bought but didn't suit my shape. 38 T-shirts gone. And they're from Threadless, so that cost me postage and packaging and probably customs fees too. But it felt good to let go. Just got to work out what to do with them...

I really envy you your bust. I would love a statement bust like that:)

Really? Because nothing ever fits. Nothing. I'm an hourglass, and because most shops stop their size range at 16 I can't even go up a size. Blouses and shirts are out, dresses often fit below the waist but not above it, and coats never do up. I remember reading once that most high=-street clothing is sized to a C-cup...
