Oooooh, well, I loooooove Carvela and Kurt Geiger and this is where most of my money goes. I bought a pair of KG that were once £400 for £89 in the sale. The shoes are usually around the £140 mark but in their sale you can pick them up for around £50. I also love Office and Dune but their sales for me are not as good. I'm a size 4 and this seems to sell out soooo quickly as well! I also buy shoes from topshop and wherever does something I like.
I'm currently working up the courage to buy a pair of louboutins but I don't think i'm quite ready yet!:o
Now I just need to wear them all more often as they are all party shoes and my day shoes are c rap! lol:o
what a fantastic bargain. I don't save my shoes for going out as I rarely go out. I work in an office so I wear them then. I suppose people may think I overdress(if they think about it at all:)) but I don't really care as to some extent I like to please myself. I never save anything for best in case best never comes.:)0 -
Are people sale shopping because they love bargain hunting or because of lack of money? For me it's lack of money. I love nice clothes but can't afford the sort of clothes I like at full price. So I make a limited budget stretch as far as possible with sale buys.
I get a real thrill out of finding a bargain. Even if I had the money I would still shop this way. Do you think that is strange or wrong?
I rarely pay full price at Primark either! I search through the sale rails there too! Today I got 2 plain longline tops there for €1 each RRP €6 each.
I do this too. My sister told me off as she says they are cheap enough at full price.
Dune if I had the money and for special occasions.
I spend more on shoes than on clothes but I don't have that many shoes. Real Uggs, converse, havanian flip flops and flat leather boots (TK Maxx) are my capsule shoe wardrobe. I always have a few pairs of Primark ballet flats around the place as well but I don't like cheap shoes much as they are uncomfortable.
I have heels from Karen Millen, Dune and a pair of (fake:o) Laboutin's with the red soles from ebay. lovely.
Was just thinking my tights/stockings are sometimes the most expensive thing I'm wearing:o Often the dress will have cost €5/7 on a sale rail and the tights will have cost €12 (70 or 80 denier opaques).
I love nice tights and stockings but I always try to get these in the house of fraser or Debenhams Sale
Edited to add: This thread needs pictures (like the toiletries thread)!
I could not do this. Everything is too crammed in at the moment.
How about you?

I think that's a good way to think about things... I always keep back certain items for 'best', but I never really go anywhere that's worth dressing up for, so I shouldn't bother saving them.
I have a lot of lovely things, but I always feel too dressed up in them. Even though they're probably not dressy at allso why do I even bother buying them???

Hello all
Salesaddict re shoe inserts. As mentioned before, I live in flats due to foot problems caused by years of unsuitable shoes (everyone, beware it could happen to you).
So instead of a shoe collection - I have an insole collection instead! The most comfortable I've found for ball of the foot troubles are Scholl Busy Bee inserts for women. About £10-15 depending on where you go.0 -
I'm with Vivienne Westwood on this one i.e 'When in doubt, always overdress' (I think it was). I'm always out and about and love dresses and heels. I have a total fear of looking scruffy and feel a bit ill at the thought of ever ending up looking like I've given up! I just think it says so much about how much you value yourself and feel really sad when I see frumpy or dowdy women who obviously don't prioritise themselves. I don't think this has much to do with money either.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hi all
Completelylost - if you buy this T-shirt - will it be different from your 200odd others? 200 - hope I'm not right LOL
And what was so important at Body Shop I have to ask?
Since yesterday my son from the care home is on a visit so it's been cafes non stop and lots of cakes. Also got a toffee cheesecake defrosting for later:mad:
I was a bit stunned how much money I spent eating out Thursday and today, far more than normal.
I was thinking about this forum while looking through the mags in the cafe, seeing if I could see any of the clothes etc you're all talking about.
You're not far off the mark when you said 200 tshirts
Have to admit that I don't need it, I just want it.
I am with you on how expensive eating out is. It's only when you get home and add it all up, that you realise what a total rip off it is. I am trying my best to stop buying food when I'm out - I've even considered taking my own sandwiches with me. I know, I'm sad... but I'd rather have the extra £2 to spend on myself:o

I don't wear heels because I'm veryyyy tall, but I do make a little effort (not so much with my clothes, but definitely with makeup). I guess I look a bit slobbish sometimes, but it's usually when I'm feeling rubbish rather than lack of time or anything like that =/
I have to agree about it having nothing to do with money though - thanks to Primark and other cheap shops, most people have no excuse not to dress half decent.0 -

Oh dear, we probably wouldn't get onI can't access my wardrobe as it's so full so only wear stuff I can pull out.

Oh dear indeed! All my clothes live on individual wooden hangers and there are sections for coats, dresses, trousers etc :rotfl::rotfl:'The road to a friends house is never long'0

I wish I had your wardrobe Souk. Sounds fantastic.
I've got one of those stupid narrow but really deep built in cupboards that you need very long rubber arms to reach the back LOL
Of course it wasn't a problem when I had less clothes - can't remember when that was of course.0 -
Yikes... you are organised, Souk. Not a bad thing at all.
I can't (or maybe choose not to) do neat, though I don't live in a pigsty either and know exactly where everything is... organised chaos is what I'd call it.0
