Yes I was OK on holiday thank god - it isnt a very good country for being ill my dad was a little under the weather whilst there but that was brought on by not lookin after his diabeties and also brandy lol.

Thanks and hello tallgirl :)
• Hi all,
nice to see some activity on the thread.
The xmas job... urgh, basically I just had towrite the shift that suited me and they said I'd hear back in Nov whether I got it or not. Wasn't really an interview, more of a document-checking session.

NG sorry to hear about your holiday illness. Hope you both feel better soon. It's really crap being ill abroad (I know - I spent 10 days at sea whilst suffering tonsilitis, so not even any access to a Dr!)

Will catch up later xxx

Hi everyone

Tallgirl thanks for the link.

NGlady, Secret Santa. Although it may be 30 pounds online, but is it something that your future recipient would guess cost that much?

I don't want to put a damper on your choice, but if you have up to 30 pounds to spend on your gift, it got me thinking.

I remember a SS at the art club. I had bought something over the set price, because it was the nearest decent thing I could find, yet the gift in return was very disappointing. I've no idea how much it cost, but unless someone went to an overpriced store, couldn't have been more than 1.99.

However..............I've still got it to this day, over 10 years later so perhaps it was worth receiving far more than any of the others which I can't even recall. But I do remember the initial feelings when I opened the wrapping :(

I had a dizzy spell yesterday as I forgot to eat until really late, so stayed in. At least I didn't get a chance to buy another book :)

CL are you hoping to get accepted for the job? It seems like a long time to wait.

Hope you have a good day girls :)
• Hi Anglea,
You know, I'm not even worried about this job. If I get it I won't mind... and if I don't, I won't be too bothered either. Somehow the thought of temporary work is a lot less daunting that permanent... Commitment scares me a bit. I'm still sending applications for other jobs, though.

I'm sick of this weather. It's slightly too warm for wearing a winter coat, but too cold for just cardigans. So I'm opting for chunky knits with layers underneath. I hate how restricted coats make me feel...

Not a lot of other news from me, hence my lack of posting. My driving is going ok thank you. I think I've racked up 30 lessons now :S I keep doing stupid things. TBH I can't maintain having more than one lesson aa week, so I think it'll be after xmas when I pass now. Still, at least I'm trying right?!

The mentions of xmas scare me a little... I'm not big on xmas, I'm a bit of a Grinch really! :S I'm glad when it's over and the sales start :D

so I think it'll be after xmas when I pass now

Have you noticed- very positive you believe you'll pass compared to previous weeks, that's good :)
• That is true :)
I guess that if I don't achieve anything else this year, at least driving seems within reach now.
It's sooooo easy to write off 2011 altogether now... as in, put off doing things until 2012, as it feels like there's not long left of this year. My mind works in silly ways. I wish I could achieve one more thing before the year is over, and at least it won't have felt like a complete waste of a year.

So, how are the rest of you doing? I went shopping again today. I seriously need to find something else to fill my time in..!

Hi all

What did you buy - more boots? :)

I stayed in, had important paperwork to do still not finished and I started on Friday. Just when I thought it was all done, I discovered I'd overlooked some pages.

You might achieve something if you get that job CL. Otherwise why not set yourself some other goal perhaps something enjoyable.
• No, not boots :)
Just a chunky knitted cardie but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to keep it. Oh, and some jeans from Primarni which fit perfectly. And some shoes... but I picked up the wrong size so they need to be returned

Is your paperwork still divorce paperwork, or other paperwork?
You seem like you've been on with that for a long time - I don't envy you :(

I returned some stuff to DP... checked my account today and they have debited £120 instead of refunding it. Will have to get onto them tomorrow and get it sorted (hopefully). I guess this is what you get when you're a chronic returner...

Good luck with that CL - faith (remember them!?) did this to me once. I returned £60 shoes, they debited me three further times. No sign of an apology! Even when I explained that I had to travel ALL the way back for their error, not even a glimpse of a 'sorry about that' or even a 'sorry about that heres a £5 towards ur next purchase!'

Im a chronic refunder too - scares me to think whether ive ever been debited and not realised or just not refunded!!
• Hi guys. Apologies in advance.:o
Why are people so freaking crazy.?
How do people who are 'upfront' and 'straight-talking' get away with being such total tw@tholes???? Someone needs to tell these peole that they need to just wind their necks in- we don't give a monkey's about how you see it or feel like you need to tell other people about their many many faults...speck, log, eye...anyone???:mad::mad:

In other news she who shall not be mentioned is out of commission for 2 days (having an op). Giving me a reprive of this constant practically bi-polar behaviour! I can't wait to move.:j
