  • Hi all,

My spends for August are dire due to a few large one-offs:
    1) £180 driving lessons
    2) £31 theory test
    3) £244 on breaks (that's two breaks, not one)

Next month I need to get serious. Starting 1st Sept (so busy for the rest of this month!) I will make more of an effort with jobseeking AND moneymaking/saving.

If I am ever in those parts in future, I will let you ladies know :) I went with family and was only really there three days (2 days were travelling). I really enjoyed charity-shopping in Inverness though :D

I saw the story about turkey. So sad :( What did he think he'd achieve by doing that? She's hardly going to marry him now that he's murdered her mother... idiot.
  • Eveningggg,

I feel quite accomplished today! I've just done another hour of revision for my theory test. I did a nice 50-minute run earlier... and I even managed to photographed some stuff to put on ebay tomorrow evening. I have a lot more items to photograph yet though!!

I'm quite enjoying CBB. I do feel sorry for Kerry though, as I think that Sally was a bit hard on her, as Kerry just did what she was asked to do. And Paddy makes me laugh, despite some of his neolithic views.

How are the rest of you? Anything interesting/naughty to report?

    Hi all

CBB - I hate it when we get repeat segments from the day before. Did you notice that shot at the end when Tara talked about how cold she was and you could see Paddy in bed? As though the covers were moving!

Also, Amy in the sauna the way she was sitting with her legs up looked a bit X rated.

Did you have enough money for all your expenses in August without getting into problems?

    Hi CL and everyone

Nothing interesting or naughty to report. I have spent 2 hours decluttering/sorting out my spare room. It still needs more work doing on it.

I have still not ordered the new furniture that I want. Things will be better when I have bookshelves and drawers (says she!) I am fed up of having a lot of things in storage boxes. If I could order it and it be here in a few days, then I would have done it but it takes a while once the order is placed.

I've been really tired these last few days, then don't sleep when I get to bed. I'm throwing the duvet off because I am too hot and then I cool down quickly and want it back on again. I think I need a thinner one - it was ok at my last house as I used to get really cold there.

I have still not done my accounts - the receipts are piling up. I have got into bad habits so I promise to do them next week - remind me if I don't post about them.

    Hi guys
I'm ill-ish again!!! I know it's stress. Had to come home at lunchtime on Friday. I got a new brown inhaler on Thursday and every time i take it i feel shaky, nauseous and head-achey, but today i feel a bit better.
Does anyone have a spreadsheet template for me for keeping updated on spending. i really need to get my butt into gear if i am ever to sort myself out. I suspect the work stress is giving me an 'i don't care' attitude as well as that usual 'i'll spend money cos i deserve cheering up'!
I am loving the proms just now. watced 'the book of eli' just now and it was moving at the end- about fighting the good fight, and finishng the race. i feel most of the time i have no purpose or direction sothat bit really got to me.
Ooh just remembered i need to list something on ebay for dad again- the item that didn't sell last time! at least i can just re-list without the trauma of starting from scratch!
well tomorrow i'm off to church, going to take the monster out for sunday lunch then hopefully do some grocery shopping come home and tidy up.
whats on for you girls tomorrow?

P.s. we should all go to the edinburgh christmas market.....my old boss used to love going and also popping along to the skating rink they set up too.

  • Ziggles - in the Debt Free Wannabe forums here, you can download and use a SOA - statement of affairs. This is where you list all your expense and it helps you (and others on the forum if you want to post it) see where you might want to try and cut back.

Other than that, I personally use an app on my iPhone called Moneybook. It costs I think £1.79 but is well worth it and you can protect it with a PIN.

    Morning ladies.

Maybe we should have a question of the day? A qondry that we have been wondering about?

    One question to pose today:

DOES ANYBODY ELSE THINK THAT THEIR LIFE IS LIKE ON A CONSTANT VIDEO-PLAYER - KEEP REWINDING BACK TO DO THE SAME THINGS OVER... AND OVER... AGAIN.

    Hi all

Ziggles I hope you are feeling better.

In relation to you and NGlady's question - is your life on a video going round and around -

I think you probably need to try changing your usual weekly routines, might help with that stress.

There's an interesting website I often read called Mooky Chick, an upbeat, wacky, modern slant on life, fashion, home, art, writing, politics, crafts, pirates, hobbies including some weird ones, lots of how-to guides.

I bet something on there could make you feel better.

NGlady - your question - I'm sure by reading my similar posts each day you know I lead a highly exciting life, full of drama, romance and adventure :rotfl:
  • Ziggles, you're not having much luck health-wise at the moment! I hope you feel better soon. Do you take any supplements? Might be worth looking into, as I used to get colds all the time but have hardly had any since I started taking various vitamins. Then again, it might be a complete coincidence :S

NG: My routine is definitely very samey. It does get boring... but I think most peeps feel like that at some point. And as Anglea pointed out, I'm another one without a very varied routine! Although recently I have done quite a lot, so hopefully that is changing for me.

I'm off out for a meal tonight... we haven't quite decided if it'll be Chinese or Indian (I'd prefer Indian for a change, but it seems the others are leaning towards Chinese). So will have to get ebaying BEFORE I go out, otherwise won't get anything done!
