Hi girls
FE, I'm telling you off for that image
I'm in a hurry so will return later - CL have you done your theory??????0 -
Update on decluttering
I now have books in 9 storage boxes ready for when I get a bookcase. What has surprised me is that I have only one box of fiction. This has really surprised me, I thought I had more than that.
I have too many diet books, so I might offload some of those as although most of them are probably ok, if I don't take any notice of them they are a waste of time. A good lock on my food cupboards would do more good!
I have taken two bags to the charity shop. I will go through the books one box at a time and see which ones I can offload, but I have many favourite books which I don't want to get rid of. I once had a set of Encyclopedia Britannica which I gave to a friend, when I moved from a house to a flat, who will use them more than me. They were rather a waste of money, I haven't told my ex I don't have them any longer - but he had no room for them either.
FE, hope you have enjoyed your fun evening, at least managed to get some of your jobs done, if not all
CL, theory done??
Ziggles - public speaking! I'd run a mile from that one
N Glady, how is the tidying going?
Anglea - not been affected by the riots but there has been some in a district in my town, but not so likely in the area I am in - thank goodness
Hope everyone is ok, I still have a marathon of ironing to do - amazing what I can find to do to avoid tackling it.
I baked a cake yesterday for my neighbour's birthday which was today - it had been ages since I made a victoria sponge cake and I was not sure it had turned out right, but I filled it with jam and buttercream and we had a slice each this morning and it was delicious. Not Rachmaninov

Well, what I day I have had!
I ironed for hours - and moved loads of things around in my wardrobes and now have one bag of clothes for the bin and two for the charity shop.
However, I decided to put the bin bag outside the door of my flat and take it down to the bin later. And as I did so, my door slammed shut! I stood there feeling rather bemused - and I was there in bare feet and a dress I just use for around the house.
I rang my neighbour's bell who has a key but she was out so I had to go down two flights of stairs to another neighbour's flat where I was invited in, thank goodness
I put a note on my door as I had a feeling a friend of mine was visiting. He did arrive and I borrowed a pair of slippers from my neighbour, 2 sizes too big, and we walked to see a friend of mine who has a spare key to my flat, and when we got there she had just got in. Phew. So we walked back again (and my neighbour with my other key had just got back too) and so finally I was able to get back in.
On the plus side, I had a nice chat with the downstairs neighbour, I must remember to take her slippers back. And I saw my friend who I have not seen for ages (we used to work together) which was nice as well. Everyone had tales of when they locked themselves out too. But what a stupid thing to do!Not Rachmaninov

Hi all
My goodness FE, what an adventure, things like that always tend to work out in the end even though at the time it can seem like a comedy film where things keep going wrong.
I'm always telling myself off when I open the door to get the milk in, wearing just my nightdress. Luckily it's never happened, but I have got locked out on other occasions.
You'll never be able to declutter your clothes without remembering.
Some months ago I got a call from a stranger asking if I knew a certain person - my ex MIL. She's got dementia and had wandered out and the couple that found her were worried about having her at their house. I tried telling them about the spare key and said she would be ok in the house because her son (BIL) would be there later. And I knew ex also goes later at night.
Good thing they didn't find the key, because unknown to me BIL was away for the night. Anyhow, they eventually turned up at my house with her. And ex collected her later on, but at first I couldn't get hold of him on the phone either.
A week later, I found out from BIL how they knew my number because MIL doesn't remember anything like that. Apparently they rang up someone in Spain who lived next door to them to get hold of BIL's number.
Yesterday I tried on loads of shoes and felt exhausted, nothing was comfy, tried on a Per Una skirt - too tight on the hips but waist ok and finally bought a vest top in the sale.0 -
Hi everyone thought I'd tell you something funny that happened today.
I went to the pub with DS. I was wearing my tight jeans which I got into after going on the scales and mysteriously losing 6lbs. Kept getting asked out LOL even offers of food, drinks you name it.
No one I'd ever go out with mind you, isn't that the way.
FRI forgot to mention in my last post to you, I'm glad the cake turned out well.0 -
Anglea, am I right in thinking you don't have a photo of yourself on Facebook? I'll check you out in a second again anyway but I don't believe I've seen what you look like. Good for you though.
Hi everyone else, just reading and running now...anyone who has an 02 phone and likes books; download the Priority Moments app and if you find a book you want in WHSmith which has a sticker on saying it's part of the deal, download a code and get it half price. Got the paperback of Mini Shopaholic yesterday....first book I've bought in a year and I'm definitely going to read it once (carefully) and then sell it on.
Not had time to comp or eBay much this last week so need to get on with it this week...that and redoing my CV as I am getting nowhere with the current one and it's frustrating.0 -
FE - let me know when you list mini shoppaholic, i will probs bid0

Afternoon girlies - ill write on here properly later, im just doing a 'oh crap im really skint, why do i keep shopping' budget and doing a tidy up.
I went through a couple of months of being really great with money but that seems to have disappeared and now I am a 'hey its in my purse splllurrrgeeee' habbit again - i think its come from not actually seperating my money into weekly pots anymore and it just being in one pot, so beging of the month ive got what seems to be a lot, so i splurge and do a lot of 'ill get this drink/snack/etc' when out with people.
MUST TRY HARDER.
my only small defence is my wages was almost £300 less this month so could explain why I am a little poorer - but if i was inteligent/a grown up/controlled I would have took this into account and been more careful - especially cos I knew last payday too that this would be less this month and should have made relivent changes
