  • Naughty naughty, Anglea. I'm not much of a reader so books never really tempt me... I don't have the patience to read them. What do you do with them all when you've read them? I can imagine they take up a lot of space.

That is odd about all the references to owls... I would be a bit creeped out. Have you looked up what it could mean?

Today I am doing zilch apart from tidying and packing up some things I've sold. I have some things on ebay which end tonight, and actually have bids this time. So that will clear some space in my wardrobe [STRIKE]for new things[/STRIKE]. I find decluttering rather therapeutic.

Tomorrow - applying for more jobs. I found a really interesting job advert last night and have filled out the application form, but I'm not sure if it's the sort of job that a lot of people will want. Also started to enter competitions again... I used to win a lot a few years ago, so fingercrossed that my luck will still be as good and the prizes will start to roll in.

    HELLLOOOO ladies :)

How is everybody? Not spoke on here for al ong time so thought i would dig my old laptop out which has got my details for my account saved and come say hello! Over the past couple of weeks, I have been looking at this site, nd have benefited so much from the grabbit section those £5 vouchers was little miracles, I used 38 in total lol. Nope, not jokin! I have brought most of my xmas pressies, and would love at some point this week to get them all out, wrap my pressies up, send cards to the people I love from a distance and have xmas even more ready, but who am I kidding, I won't feel like digging into the garage after a day at work lol.

CL - Congratulations on your new found courage, I hope it gets bigger.. and bigger for you! I know how it feels when you are applying for jobs, but they dont even have the manners to write back and say no thankyou! So good luck with the interview, tbh I always find the ones i dont think ive done ell in i seem to do well.

    Morocha - hows you?
Anglea - Hello my lovely :) I am too very interested in where you manage to store all your books lol.

Me and DEman are going REALLY well and I am looking forward to a very special first christmas together. He is truely an amazing man and I am honoured to be with him :) awww ark at me sentimental old girl lol.

Well today, I can only describe as horrid. I was woken up at 330am this morning by somebody I live with going to the airport to go on holiday. so i got up with them to see them off, as I feel its very odd when people go in the middle of the night and you dont see them going - its my physicy I guewss. Well, I have been suffering from my shoulder for the last couple of times since carrying a far to heavy bag for work, so i couldnt get back comfortable so I have been effectively awake since 330 this morning, despite being in bed watching dont tell the bride at 4am lol. Ah well got loads done before day light haha, made me think, throughout the week I find it very hard to get up, so i dont get up until like 745 when I got to leave by 830 - I am going to try and start getting up 10 minutes earlier each day until I am getting up no later than 7am, itll benefit me as i wont have the feeling of being rushed!

Been looking at cars recently for the new year :) cant wait to finally pass my driving test, cant wait for the freedom!!
    !!!
I am going down to London next saturday with deman -were going first class (complete bargain!!) and going down to the winter wonderland market in hyde park! And hes going to treat me like a princess and get my xmas pressies :)

Anglea... I wouldn't put your wedding hat too far towards the back of your wardrobe ;)

    Hi all

CL I'm glad to hear you are managing to sell your bits, I know in the past you were worrying nothing was selling that much. How was I'm a celebrity? I just looked at the clock, after 11 and realised I missed Desp housewives again.

Lovely to see you NGlady :T wedding hat at the ready :)

That trip to London sounds really really really nice. Lucky you!

Re your times for work. I only discovered today that my watch was 15 mins fast and my bedside clock 30 mins fast - had no idea, no wonder I was getting to places on time LOL Why don't you do that?

Hope your shoulder get's better soon. When you wrote about getting woken I suddenly remembered your holiday to Tunisia - what's happened?

Good luck with your driving - and you've been really good with your pressie bargains.

As to my books, above where I'm sitting now is a shelf of large hardback non-fiction. Behind me on the floor are a few piles, around my bedroom on surfaces and drawers some more, and in DS2's wardrobe on the floor are even more. There aren't that many since I gave away a whole load some months back but they are creeping back. They are nearly all non-fiction.

When I had a look at yesterday's buys, I was surprised by one of them - had no idea that's what I bought ( gruesome crime). There was also Twilight, one other fiction, 2 self help and a cookery which I bought only for the photos I plan to cut out, which I need for something else.

NGlady - don't leave it this long until you post again. We all like a good romance and I miss your deMan updates.

    How's it going?

I finally bought a skirt today I can wear although still not 100% fitting, it's slightly loose but seeing that most of my clothes have recently got tight, at least I can put it on without problems.

I got it in that ultra cheap charity shop that sells very good makes and it looked brand new. So my grand total was -

    smart lined skirt, 2 books and a leather belt = £2.75 :)
  • Hi Anglea, NG, and everyone else :)

Anglea - you are a savvy shopper! I am glad you've found a skirt that's a decent fit. I never find anything I like in the charity shops... I've probably said before that ours are filled with raggy old ex-Primark stuff.

NG - nice to see you posting again. Aww, I'm glad things are still going well with DEman - I hope Anglea and I are invited to the wedding? ;) Well done for getting back behind the wheel too - you're braver than I am! Do you have any particular cars in mind?

I have been awful with the spending of late.
    • hoodie £19.99 :o but gorgeous and comfy...
    • top £3.99 :o:o don't need this at all
    • another pair boots £30 :o:o:o same as above!
    • black flats £9.60 - necessity and I got 20% off in debenhams
    • 2x jeggings £22 - needed these too as my only pair that fitted have ripped! plus got £10 off as I spent over £40.
So there we go. I bought other things too but I am going to return them... I drew some cash out at the beginning of the week and it's all gone, so need to recoup some of it. Also made £30 on ebay at the weekend which makes me feel *slightly* better about the non-necessities.

    hi all

CL I'm trying not to add up your spends :) you bought other things as well tut tut

    Any news from the interview?
  • ^Probably best not to add them up!

I haven't heard back from the interview, but I know the job doesn't start until January so I may wait a while. I had a call on Monday for another interview but had to refuse it, as I don't think I would be able to get there on time at 8am every morning (I'd have to use public transport and it is a fair distance from me - further than I thought). I have an interview on monday too, but it's an informal thing with an apprenticeship provider so will see how that goes.

It's been ages since I posted and I have to confess I have bought some books, but none at full price

However, I have twice taken books, clothing and other items to a charity shop and more to go.

I joined their gift aid scheme so they can reclaim the tax paid on anything they raise from donations. I had an email today - so far they have raised £37.76 from the sales of my items, this has made me really pleased and I want to take more things down. I don't have the inclination to sell things myself but this way I am decluttering and raising money for charity, as well as enabling them to reclaim tax.

    So it's a win/win situation
