  • Hi all,

Anglea - well done (for clearing out and not adding to your collection). The weather has been so bad recently that I haven't been out much at all, so no opportunity to shop!

Haven't heard back about anything I've applied to - a bit gutting really. I guess it's just a reflection of how had the job market is at the moment.

I'm saving up my vouchers so that I can buy the watch I've been lusting after for about 18 months. I know I'll love it even more if I know that it was technically 'free'.

Frogletina - which charity shop is that? I like the sounds of that... being able to find out how much they have benefitted from your donations is a nice touch :)

It is age uk. They give you a card with a donor id on it which is then put onto the tags in the shop, so they can total up what things of yours have been sold. Everytime you donate you just show the card to them.

  • Hi NG,

The snow is awful here too... i'm sick of it already (not that I've ever liked it!)I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday.

I'm hoping to go shopping this week too, though there's not much I need really, apart from some trousers. That seems cheap for a Radley umbrella. I always ruin umbrellas after a few weeks so I tend to stick with £1 shop ones, haha.

I'm still looking for a job... sick of being told I have a good chance and then being told I was unsuccessful. I feel like I'm never going to get a job.

How are the rest of you? x

    Hi girls

NG - lovely to hear from you, I was wondering when the holiday was supposed to be, even wondered if you'd cancelled because of your new man. Good luck with your shopping trip, are you still into returns? :)

CL, another way to think about your job search is that perhaps now isn't the best time for you to be going out to work in this weather as you haven't been well in recent months. EVen if you started something soon, the weather could be causing all sorts of disruptions and hassles not only for you but those you will be working for.

CL - I bet you're glad you already bought all those boots :) are the soles ok for the ice?

    Hi Frogletina :)

I found problems with mine even though they are rubber soled so only have one pair of shoes that I can walk without fear -black lace up flats,I wouldn't be able to leave the house without them.

    Hi Anglea & all

I've had a busy day and I went to see my son who is recovering from an operation and later I went to a W I party

I bought a homemade little wrap which will be a Christmas Present, so I did pay for that and some raffle tickets. But nothing won, and nothing bought to clutter the house up.

I don't want to clutter other people's houses up either - I find it difficult to buy presents for people, but have to get several presents for members of my family. My thinking cap is on

  • Hi all,

Frogletina - I hope your son is doing well after his operation. I have the same problem when buying for others... I hate clutter, so I always think twice about buying things like ornaments, gift sets, etc.

Anglea - yeah the boots came in handy! Although I did buy myself some new wellies which are gorgeous, from Office. I gave my mum my other pair, as she liked them more than I did... so I don't feel too bad about that purchase.

Hmm, I would really love some kind of work placement. I found out about an organisation that sets you up with work experience in good places (NHS, local council, etc) - they pay £40/week but the placements are usually short and local which would mean no travel expenses. Plus I would be applying for paid positions whilst doing it. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I'd be eligable for help from them :) Feeling slightly more positive now!

Also STILL waiting to see someone about my health problem. Thankfully don't feel as bad now and have put on a couple more pounds but it's still annoying how long I'm having to wait.

Not sure what to do today... apart from helping with the sunday roast, I don't have anything planned. How about the rest of you? x

    Hi Completely Lost

My son is much better thank you. He had a rather risky operation to replace a disc in his neck, but it went very well and he should be able to return to work soon.

    Hi VG,

I had wondered how everyone had been getting on from the 'old regulars' on here.

Well done on the weight loss. Hopefully you can learn from this relapse that getting a new wardrobe of clothes doesn't mean buying the shop! LOL

Frogletina, glad your son is ok.

Good luck in getting more information for work CL. Did you ring about the NHS placements?

I've been good lately because of Xmas, then 3 bills last week which I never anticipated  now a problem with the council tax has ocurred, so no books or misfits for the time being (famous last words).
