Hi I didn't write before because have been dealing with a situation which had been going on for over a week but I didn't put 2 and 2 together so was blissfully unaware what had been happening until Friday, had to call the police on Saturday night and been having bad nights from being on alert for more developements, so if you don't see anything from me for a while it means I'm reading but don't feel like writing.

Hope you managed to get through work today NGlady. Hope the rest of you are being good :) with your spending.

New posh charity shop in the village, very nice clothes, I bought a book today much more expensive than normal for a charity shop paperback but I had 3 heavy bags with me and that 'I must get something' feeling and couldn't look at the clothes as it was nearly closing time and there were too many lovely things to enjoy browsing.

Awww Angela, hope everythings ok. You take your time and then come back to be my shopping concions again soon :) something of which I may need today, as i'm off and my looking at netbooks has found me a very good bargain and I am debating going to get. I have been wanting one for a few months now, so its not a "oooo looksie" purchase and I think I will get a lot of use out of it.

I am however going to be naughty, I am going to pay half in cash and half on a comet store card i've got which I got last year for a big puchase and paid off over 4 months :) It is interest free, and I am going to authorise a direct debit on payday for the full amount.

I managed to get my bonus yesterday - wooohooo. Nice to have a day off after all that, i've had bank holiday off but that was sooo hetic it was unreal. So its nice after a hard month to be able to chill out a little bit :)

I'd love to go to a really nice charity shop round here its all tatty bits.

hello all can i join please? im definatly becoming a reformed spend a holic but as i have so little coming in its hard to get the debts down, then something comes up wedding birthdays etc, i did have 5k of debt , then stopped for a bit and its gone up a wee bit but its still better than what it was , it seems easier for me to break it down into managable chunks!
    downfalls
    makeup
    shoes/clothes
    books
    yarn and knitting things

    soloutions
dont buy any makeup etc until its used up then move onto the cheapest of cheap from poundland..was suprised to find collection2000 and rimmel in there!
..shoes and clothes..i dont need them!..i look at them pick up what i want get as far as the checkout and put them back works for me!
books..dont buy get them from the libary i get as much of a buzz getting the call to tell me my books in than i do actually buying one..plus they tend to come out for loan the same time the books released!
and yarn and knitting things..i currently have 3 black sacks full of yarn which i am using up to make into christmas gifts and i have 1/2 a black sack that ive been selling on ebay ..so its getting there..i now only ever buy if i really need it and allways try the second hand shops or eaby first but in the 6 months ive only bought 4 balls at 80p each so not bad..

but my worse down fall is little treats for the boys..now i just don't take my purse out or only stick to the £2 each pocket money their grandad gives them

good luck to us all x

  • Hi all,
Moved into my new place on Tuesday and love it at the moment; nice cosy room and peaceful (my flatmates aren't here yet!) I am currently pursuing the removal men through the police due to them stealing from me.

Also bought a 32 inch TV for my new room....naughty but oh so nice!! Going to be shelling out more soon towards a new computer, printer, software, etc. Being good, resisting temptation to spend but have a HUGE amount stashed; I hoarded SO much stuff that I have 14 Body Shop body butters alone....so there's an entire cupboard just full of things to be used and I can't wait to start getting through them and clearing some space. It's just madness, it really is. I don't know what possessed me to lug this stuff from house to house over the years and then keep adding more to it; even managed to bin some more since I've been here.

FE. I know what you mean about lugging things around one house to the next. I have only moved once, but when I moved I found it SO hard to throw anything away, ended up getting rid of a very few items through swishing and Ebay then brought it with me. My family was so unimpressed when they realized they had done a removals van worth of just my clothes lol. It now lives in the Garage, with every intention of ebaying/swishing it, but I never get round to it. MUST start doing it though, I am fed up of clutter would really love to have some sort of capsule wardrobe where I don't own as much but every item I own is a fantasticly ME item.

If you are trying to get rid of some of your stuff - I know that body butters sell really well on Ebay particually the ones that havn't been used.

I would love a tele in my bedroom - but I always wonder, I spend a lot of time in here as it is on my computer but come out for watching some tele with mum at night. If I have got a really nice little tele on my wall will I just stop in here. So on a Social level I am not having one lol.

Got my new netbook activated - its lovely. Very small though so quite odd typing on it. Though did a little bit of typing on it this morning and am now quite used to it, so much so feels really ODD using this big keyboard on my big lapotp now!!

I have a 60 day free trial on Excel sooo going to set up a spend sheet etc later on, will be really interesting to get everything added up. Havn't set up an excel spreadsheet in a LONG time, but the funny thing is one of the things in my present job interview was I had to use excel, can imagin I nearly shat myself lol. Is it easy to set a spead sheet up? I.e putting the forumale in so it adds itself up? :)

  • If you know how to do it, excel is really easy.
