    Hi all

    Anxiety/eating - I think people often do this because the comforting food is easy to grab hold of. What happens if it's not in the house?
    I read a tip which I found interesting when I tried it -

    when you get a sweet craving eat a dried fig. It works for me - plus there's the added benefit of a good clear out :) if you know what I mean.

    Savoury craving - eat some twiglets. You can't really binge on them without feeling a big sick.

    Oh yeah did i mention that i am a food shopaholic too (it can all fit in ma big fat belly unlike clothes:p)...i CANNOT not put sweeties, bikkies, nice things you can't cook or eat for dinner in my basket/trolley, although strangely they never feature on my shopping list.
    I would kill someone if i had to go a day without the stuff in the house!
    FIGS:eek::eek: Yukky!:p
    I'm trying the Bach emotional eating kit drops but i can't remember to keep them with me so i don't have them when i need them!

    LOL ziggy.

    Did you watch that tv show last night about the two weight loss experts in competition with each other?

    One of them said this -

    Imagine a piece of paper with a road on it that forks into 2 directions. One road then allows to you have a life being slim, fitting into clothes, doing whatever you want in life - you have to imagine yourself doing it.

    Then picture the other path full of doughnuts, sweets etc and you living the life you are now, plus how it you could look in months or years down the line if you carry on acting like you are now.

    Which road will you take?

    That image spoke to me too, and could be good for all sorts of issues because whenever you get books on tackling addictions and they tell you to imagine your ideal life, they don't tend to make you picture the opposite - how bad your life could be if you carry on in a similar way.

    So for shopaholics this could be mountains of unopened shopping bags and clutter, stacks of unopened bank statements.

    I'm off to the shops now, need some more figs :)

  • Finding today particularly difficult. I really want to shop and buy something to make myself feel better. This hasn't been helped by my DP store card bill coming today (£0 - hooray!) with 20% off voucher in it. It's just sat there tempting me to go and buy the jacket I want but don't need, and really can't afford if I am to get out of my O/Ds.
