    Hi all

NGlady - I've got an new income stream for you - setting logic puzzles - the way you described your returns and the vouchers was making me dizzy :(

Well done on being officially Miss Derby :)

So you bought 2 dresses yet you bought 4?? Actually I did understand that part (I think). Which size are you keeping?

Kerri - what do you plan on selling at the car boot?

Morocha - how are you doing with the weight loss so far?

Oh nothing tremendously exciting, I have a couple of bin bags of clothes, a bag of toys, some books, a few toiletries (amazingly the little ones I had before flew off the stall) and some general 'brick-a-brac'. I'm going with a friend who has some clothes from when her kids were little so we've got quite a selection between us.

Kerri - I would be very careful going to a carboot, particually if its clothes/etc you are looking at selling. I have a friend who does them, and anything over about 50p people just won't pay it :( she put something think it was a belt for 20p - this lady aruged she wanted it for 5p?!! So only do the carboot if you are just after the space not to raise some mullah

Have you ever considered swishing? its basically a clothes exchange. let me know if you want more details I love it :)

Angela - size 18 alas. they are supermarket clothes though so they are quite unfavourably cut on the material side of things :)

    Thankyou...

    Hi all

Miss Derby :) that is good advice for the car boot, haggling over 20p seems really funny, can't believe people would do that.

As for the size 18's, yes it does depend on the material cut etc.

Some of my clothes are too big at size 12 others tight at 18, no wonder I keep buying so many misfits.

Ahhh, thanks for the advise but this isn't my first car boot and the last one I did I made £70+ (after float and entrance deductions). The clothes actually went quite well. Some shoes etc did go for a bit of a bargain, a pair worn only once went for £3 but then, they hurt my feet so I wasn't about to wear them again. However, I did also sell some trainers, t-shirts and jeans for between £4 - £7. Some stuff did get sold for less but I'm not above haggling and if I think someone is taking the p*ss with thier offers I won't sell it to them for nothing. It's still more than you're likely to make on eBay for non-branded goods, with less hassle and a quicker return..and more than they'll earn me sitting doing nothing in my wardrobe :rotfl:

Oddly enough, it was the men's stuff (thanks OH for the donations :)) that seemed to sell better than the ladies.

Hoping the weather will be better this time - last one was in April and it was a bit showery...must remember plastic to put over stuff in case it rains this time (big lesson from previously!) :)

I know what you mean Angela! It's odd in River Island I am a size 18 normally - apart from Blazers were I am 12 but in Newlook I am a 16... apart from in Blazers where I am an 18 - there is no regularity. I am a beliver that there should be some regulations on sizing - i.e this many cm's is that size and that many cms is that size. Would make life so much easier

Woohooo Kerri - you seem to have your head screwed on and are only taking stuff you would only clutter with anyway, some people go with high expectations. Angela, yeah I know, its crazy isn't it. I had a customer that was going to go elsewhere the other day as the product had gone up a whole NINETY NINE PENCE in a year so was 99.99 not 99.00........

Don't think FE has wrote on here recently - hope all is ok :)

Souk - away for a week. . . nice hotel. . . go for it chick!!

Well thats it - weekend up already! Hate working saturdays feels like you don't have a weekend. Really going to have to make up for it next weekend :)

    Hi all,
How odd that the last post mentions me.
Well, still very busy...going to have a LOT to do in 2 weeks time when I move into my semi-permanent place. I'm also waiting for my college timetable as I am going to get either more hours at the job I have or get another one to bring me in some money and get me on the road to saving a few grand for the future.
However, there's a lot of spending to be done for the new room including a TV, laundry basket and some storage containers, as well as another pair of PJs and a dressing gown and some plain T shirts. Oh, and a voice recorder which I should be getting some money off due to me being entitled to one as a disabled student but I want a better one than the one they give out so I'll take the money as a partial refund towards the £279 one I need.
    Hope everyone's OK.

    Hi All
    How are we doing today?
@Nglady- i'm tired just reading that- 4 dresses or 2, book, vouchers. I wish i had the nous to be able to shuffle stuff around to save a bit...i'd just end up confused and inevitably overspend!
And don't get me started on sizes. I have only recently learnt to stop looking for sizes but what i like and then approximate fit/try it on...(maybe not such a good idea as i use the excuse that there's nothing that fits in most shops :D I'm and 18/20:o)
@ Kerri- only ever been to one carboot but not very good at going through stuff fr bargains etc- can't even do TKMaxx never mind charity shops/car boots!
And a hullo to the rest.
off to return some stuff to tatco hopefully will not get diverted to outfit and get the pumps i really liked last week!:(
