    *Takes a big yawn*

Well ladies, I have had a VERY tiring evening. I have been back to Sheffield lol. I have been talking to a rather lovely man for a very short while now and we decided about 4pm tonight to meet up, he can't drive so I agreed to go to sheffield! I have to say, we didn't do anything particually special (he felt bad about it, but with an hours notice he hardly had time) so went to a couple of rather crappy bars but I have had a lovely evening.

Cost £3.60 bus £5.50 train. Got back a little while ago and was tempted to get into a taxi at the station - cost £15 but I didnt :) was very pleased.

Katey - I can completely see how debt can start in Meadowhall. It was a very good sale to be honest, unlike my local store where its all cramped in it was quite organized and the staff managed to keep the shop tidy :) Does anybody else hate the sale on shoes though, hate how there thrown onto the shelf! Have respect for shoes next please lol.

I am sooo tierd now, but have had a amazin day :) I am very happy.. yes Angela, this is the birth of Mr Sheffield :)

    Hi all

NGlady, I don't have any alcohol in the house except ds's whisky which I hate, so I can't read your shopping post properly because I need something to relax my mind whilst I read about returns :) I get the impression you enjoyed yourself shopping and bought some nice things.

So we've got a Mr Sheffield to get all curious about now - journey cost you nearly £10 so I hope he paid for the drinks??

I only went grocery shopping again (groan) because ds's uncle turned up to take him out unexpectedly so didn't go to the cider festival.

Hope you all are having a good Saturday night!

Sounds like you had a good shopping trip, NG. I love blazers on other people, but on me they just don't feel right. I dunno why!

So, what is Mr Sheffield like then?

I've had a bit of a pants day... feeling a bit crap about learning to drive to be honest. Everyone tells me what they did in their first lessons and it has left me wondering whether a) I'm incredibly bad, or b) the instructor isn't good.

CL, perhaps your instructor picked up that you were very anxious and was gentle with you.

Maybe. Don't get me wrong, the instructor is really patient and keeps saying I did well, but I can't help but feel like they're just saying it so that I don't get disheartened.

Out of interest, do you remember what you did in your first 3 or 4 lessons?

CL in my first 3 or 4 lessons, I did some very basic driving on local roads. It was primarily around industiral estates the first lesson getting to know the gears etc and as I lived in a quiet village he let me drive home.. after that I did a couple of lessons of learning to drive on the main road and I think I may have done some basic manuvering. Nothing particually taxing, it is just getting yu comfortable behind the wheel. I never did finish my lessons :) but what I do know is everybody goes @ their own speeds, for me it takes a long time for things to soak in and then im good at it :)

    Mr Sheff is lovely :)

Yep he paid for everything when im there :) we're going out for the day next weekend :)

Thanks NG. I've done 4 hours of moving off, stopping and changing into 2nd gear at 20mph. I've never actually turned a corner or been on a road with other cars, and we go up and down the same stretch of road (which is pretty much dead apart from the odd parked car). I don't know what to think really :o My brother said he was doing hillstarts on his 4th lesson.

Mr Sheffield sounds nice, where is he planning on taking you, do you know? I'm jealous of your date-making abilities, I know I keep saying this but I wish I had the nerve for it.

CL I think I went on a very busy road for my first lesson, perhaps the instructor you've got has had some accidents with first timers in the past and wants to play safe.

I think that's a likely scenario unless he wants to prolong the lessons to get more money?

NGlady - nice that your date worked out and you're seeing him again.

CL - dates. I've found in life that if you are very worried about not having something - you often don't get it. But if you don't really care one way or other, you usually attract it.

CL - He sounds like the first driving instructor I ever had. I made the mistake of having a ten block immediately as it was cheap. For most of the time he took me around the same stretch of road, doing pretty much nothing, he would be late for lessons and cut lessons short. He was generally rude to me and actually was personally nasty at one point. At one point I had a two hour lesson and he was sat for a good half an hour making a personal call, no apology or offer to pop it onto another lesson or anything.

Cl is he by any chance an independent instructor? He sounds so like my first one.

Angela, yep, I didn't really care and I met Mr Sheffield. He is taking me to York :) I love York :)

CL - Thanks but honestly i've not been havin half as many dates as I used to. So I am now crap at them lol.
