    Hello again

FE - lovely that you've updated us - 'rude not to' buy the dress ;)
That's a good way to keep track of your money with that phone app too.

CL and anyone that wants to lose weight. I know I've mentioned the 2lbs a month goal, however, just in case anyone is interested there is a method I've lost a lot of weight fast that is only good for people that are fairly fit and want to 'get into that dress' by the end of the week. No diets involved - it's just excercise twice daily.

FOR 2 MINUTES EACH WITHOUT A BREAK-
    run up and down stairs
    then jog on the spot
press ups against the stairs (my variation, it's supposed to be on the floor)
standing a few feet away from a wall - hands on wall and face up to wall and back (sort of upright press up)
    star jumps
jog on the spot and REPEAT

Do it again later in the day.

You can begin by only doing 1 MINUTE daily of each

That is the official version of the excercise - I usually miss out the
star jumps and leaning against the wall and it hasn't made that much difference to the results.

Last time I did it I lost 6lbs in a week. The previous time (with star jumps and wall) lost 8lbs.

Angela, I think that sounds a fab idea - I used to do very similar when I was loosing all my weight before. Used to have "mad 5 minutes" a few times an evening where id do that and i lost loads!

NGlady - you sound better already - is it the thought of the 'mad' five minutes? LOL

NG: that sounds absolutely rotten, I hope you get well soon.

Anglea: 6lbs in a week  wow that's a lot. You don't have to answer, but did you have a lot to lose? I'm not sure if it would work for me... I am fairly active, I mean, I have been doing at least 3-miles a day either walking or running. It's definitely helping me to maintain my weight, but not sure it's doing a lot to help me lose it.

CL, I've always been a fitness addict and often walk 6 hrs daily as well as do lots of excercises in the evenings.

The problem I've had for ages is IBS which means I often have a bloated stomach and I can no longer do stomach excercises as they set off the problem.

That's why the stairs/jogging excercise is so good for me - pity I can't do it very often - for some reason it gets rid of my tum as well as my bust :(.

For many years I've participated in stair running -buildings with lots of sets of stairs - but for whatever reason, that didn't shift the tum in the same way as the combination of excercises does.

So CL, I think it ought to work for you.

In that case, I'll give it a try tomorrow :) I know climbing multiple flights of stairs in hospitals usually wrecks my legs (in the same way running up a hill does), so will be interested to see if I can do it for a whole two minutes! I also have issues with stairs in general, having once broke my ankle falling down them :S

edit - one question, how do you do press ups against the stairs?

    Hi CL

You can start with only 1 minute (or less) just to see how your body reacts. Use the banisters if you have them.

Press ups on the stairs - I only use them because I can't do it on the floor properly.

If you can do a normal push up - its exactly the same only at a different angle.

What I do is to put my hands on the 5th step (or whichever is most comfortable I know you're taller than me) then push your body down and elbows out, keeping the back and legs straight so your face is right down onto the steps, then push the arms back and straight so you are at the starting position.

Good Luck CL I want to hear how you get on.

Straight after my last post I felt so enthusiastic that I started the stair excercising completely forgetting the late hour, so only did a modified version because DS was in his room and I didn't want to sound like an elephant :) running up and down!

It will be lovely to get shot of my tum and get into all those lovely clothes that are in the wardrobe unworn.

Hope to read everyone's updates tomorrow.

    Hi all

Today I did all my initial lot of stair/jogging/pressups this morning, that seemed ok. This afternoon I went on a long walk, then made myself a coffee and suddenly had an urge to do the second lot because I had a fear that I'd be putting it off in the evening. However, in future I'll think twice about starting it straight after a hot drink

Looked round the shops, that new shop, store 21 or whatever it's called had some nice skirts, but will avoid buying anything until the end of the month, so hopefully everything will fit better.

Now I'm thinking about those jeans I bought some weeks back that were a bit too big and I was going to take them in, might leave doing that too for a while.

    How was your day?
