I was in the charity shop today too - but giving rather than spending.;) I was following FE's shining example...CL - I had a 'must have' craving buy, only a pound in the charity shop but I had to get something before leaving it.
This evening I've had to shut all the windows because the manure is being spread around locally.
Well done on your NSD
Did get a bit carried away in Paperchase though and bought a new cover for my phone. My other one has broken...:(
Save me from spending...

Hi all
Anglea, thanks for that tip about internet privacy.
Only a handful of my "real life" friends know my username (eg link it with me) so think I'm ok.
Been busy trying not to spend money...got a lot of spends coming up with the storage and removals as well as things I'll need to buy for uni but trying not to think of that at the moment.
More things to bin/give to charity when I can next be bothered; taking a break from it for a week or so.0 -
Hi all
Little Chicken, what did you give away?
On the subject of FE's shining example, I'm still wondering about the exact dimensions of your room if you are still finding things to give away. FE, tell us the truth, the room you have is ginormous?

You can take it into the shop or post it.
I have sold to them via their website (around 18 months ago) and had awful trouble getting my payment - I waited about 4 months for the cheque to come through! Though that was one bad trade, I had many that went through fine - I just haven't used them since, so not sure what they're like now. I know they were having financial troubles a while ago so I personally wouldn't risk sending valuable items to them.
I have heard that they only pay cash for a certain amount of items per day, so you have to go there early to get the cash price. Otherwise you'll only be able to trade for other merchandise.
HTH.============I'm having an expensive week unfortunately, through no fault of my own! I have to pay out around £100 in unexpected expenses... boo hiss
Anglea - what did you buy at the charity shop? At least your money went to a good cause instead of lining the pocket of some greedy business man

Anglea, no idea of the dimensions but it is a big room. I was, though, in one 1/3 of the size for a year before I moved here, and am now moving into another tiny room. I've always coped but I want space and I like to know exactly what I have and get rid of clutter. Sold another book today which helps.
Rattlesnake, CEX is best to go into the shop. Money is rather pants though; eg 30p for a £20 CD, but it's the best you'll really get. Cash Converters only gives you 10p, no matter what you've got.0 -
Hi all
CL - I bought some Tarot cards to use for papercrafting. However, when I opened the pack at home they weren't at all as I expected - a sort of strange hand drawn effect with printed descriptions in boxes on the top of the cards - yet another bad buy .
Did you have the spare cash for you added expenses?
FE - your new room will be lovely without all the excess. It's amazing how much we accumulate.0 -
Thank you for letting me know. I will hopefully have time to pop in at the weeknd and take a few bits there i need the money and i got some old games i no longer use so i may aswell try and get something back for them

I am trying to have a no spend day today but it hasnt really gone to plan as i ended up buying some eggs to hatch out so that is going to be my only spend till sat (as i got to get a hair cut).
My NSD are not going to well at the moment why is it that when you just get yourself sorted out something else comes along and takes your money

Hi Anglea - Just things that I thought wouldn't be worth bothering ebaying. A few books, some candles, a few bits of clothing, a Liberty tote. Hopefully they'll make something for Oxfam.
I've booked in to get my hair cut on Friday. I can't wait. I got a fab deal on mycitydeal and the salon looks quite nice. At least if it does go wrong you guys won't be able to see.:p

Rattlesnake - dare I ask - eggs to hatch out? Anything to do with your username? Perhaps I don't want to read your answer so why am I asking? (scratches head)
LC - good luck with the hair cut.
I stayed in today so NSD.0
