Hmm, I'm not sure what he is. This is the one though -

I think it was me who you mentioned the online dating to (or maybe I asked about it) but I've never really done anything about it... I'm so unbelievably quiet in real life, I doubt I could deal with meeting people!
Are you back on the dating scene, or giving it a break after your last experience?================Hmm, well today was a small spend day for me. I bought myself a bracelet, only spent £2-ish though. I've had a rotten headache all day, no idea why... just had icecream and it has made it worse.
The weather here was v hot today too but OMG is it just here, or is there any infestation of midgies/mosquitos all over the country?! I swear I was covered in them on my way to college. Every step I took I had to wade through swarms of them. Grrrrr I hate the little !!!!!!s.0 -
FE, how big is the place that you're currently de-cluttering?
To be fair, I do have a very big room!!
I've not seen the new room, but someone who has seen it told me it's about half the size of where I am now.
And because I may move from there in a year's time (if not before) I want to downsize as it's such a pain in the @rse having to keep lugging crates of stuff all over the UK when I don't even use most of it...so this is an end to it.
I'm taking a break from decluttering, I think, for a week and a half from tomorrow....not quite finished yet though!!0 -
CL - there is certainly mosquitos in the country now, shockin that ther coming into our climate as a few years ago they just didnt exist here!
I was SO hot at work today - the sun was bouncing on the windows and I was generally sweltering. Why did I decide to wear my hair down and forget to take a hair tie with me
I am off to bed in a moment but my god it is SO hot here!! I dont think ill be wearing a quilt tonight.
knowin my luck at the w/e when I can enjoy it... itll be cold weather lol. typical!!
BTW cl - he is rather gorgeous ISNT HE! I always found it wierd that the lovely baby was called Harry - isnt that Jess's ex husbands name lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hi girls,
FE, I think because you had mentioned in the past about wanting to buy your own house in the future, I had presumed you were already living in a house - not just in one room - especially with all that de-cluttering and filling wheelie bins. So I can imagine that it must feel really nice to have less stuff around you.
Still haven't opened the carrier with the handbag HOWEVER just as I was changing in to my nightclothes last night, I started tidying up the corner where the bag is kept - didn't quite get to it as I was very tired and annoyed with myself starting a job like that so late, but a big step forward.
TV medical dramas - although I think Jay is nice looking he doesn't 'rock my boat' LOL as such. Quite like Daniel Granger in Doctors, although there's a slimy side to his personality.
Jess's ex husband. Was he called Harry? You mean that older consultant that left years ago - I didn't realise the nasty one that went abroad was also called Harry
CL - are you any better?.0 -
Cheers Anglea. I don't know if I'll ever own a home due to a dreadful credit rating (none of it my fault). I mean, I'm being chased and threatened for debts run up at places I moved out of years ago and all I can do is wait 6 years and put up with it til it becomes statute barred.0

Hi girls,
SHOCK HORROR I'm using the new bag and I've thrown the old one out. :T0 -
:j:j:jHi girls,
SHOCK HORROR I'm using the new bag and I've thrown the old one out. :T
So the bag wasn't a mistake then? I'm glad to hear you managed to do it, anyway :T & also that you got rid of your old one. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to get rid of my old one quite yet.
As for me, I'm trying to find things to occupy myself. I've just taken apart an old computer tower (which I've been hoarding for 3yrs, even though it's broken
) and am going to take it to the tip tomorrow. 0 -
Hi CL
The bag isn't quite what I would have preferred, but now I have it, it's got to be used. I was reluctant to part with the old one but felt I needed to be assertive. I still have a few oldies in my wardrobe.
I also surprised myself by opening another bag I've had lying around for ages and I sorted everything out so my bedroom floor is free of carriers now.
Plus I did a financial errand that I'd put off for months too.
So I think a nice lie down is on the cards to get over the shock LOL (mind you the to-do list is like a blooming encyclopaedia, but at least I've made a start)
So you're another one that keep old and broken stuff?
I'm glad you are getting rid of it. I think we need to thank FE for inspiration. 0 -
Ahh well, if you do a little each day and you will get through that list eventually. It definitely sounds like you made some progress today -- it feels good, doesn't it, almost spurs you on to do more.
I have one task that I have been putting off for almost two years..! I may attempt it this weekend, as I have absolutely nothing else to do. I've also ditched another few bits from the underwear drawer (only 4). There's a lot more that could go, too...
But yes, I'm terrible for hoarding old/broken things. It seems that a lot of us in this thread have the same problem. I have... wait for it... three pairs of holey old slippers that I can't part with. How silly is that?! It's because my mum bought me them, I feel bad for getting rid of them. I think I mentioned this on the Decluttering thread a few months ago :S0 -
Old slippers with holes? LOL I hope you start that other project.
I'm recognising that one of my housekeeping sins is not putting things away the same day as using them - always leads to problems.
Or buying something that seems like such a good idea at the time then once you get home you realise how much work will be involved in using, storing or cleaning it. And I'm also fed up of my son arriving home with lots of peculiar stuff and then leaving it behind. I can't get into the large summerhouse full of his stuff, the garage barely has room and he keeps buying portable barBQ's, and leave them outside in the rain so I keep finding black gunk everywhere..:mad:0
