Hi all,
Still considering the TV; will probably get it but for now:
Spent £10 in M&S on that dine in deal; never done it before but decided I deserve a treat, and also paid 10p for a new bag for life from there and 50p for a packet of reduced price tomatoes. Also with the meal deal, I'll cook both pieces of chicken together and have the spare one cold in a sandwich or reheat it in a risotto and any leftover veg I'll whizz into a soup or a pasta sauce so nothing will go to waste; got 2 parmesan crusted chicken breasts, roast veg, 2 raspberry panacotta and a bottle of wine for £10 PLUS some of the wine will go into a risotto.
Also spent £8 on a T shirt from New Look; love the design, have got rid of about 40 T shirts (well they're on eBid and if unsold will go to charity) so have the space for it plus it's giving £3 to Macmillan cancer care.
Also used Vouchercloud on my iPhone so got a Subway lunch for £2.99
That's my list of spends.
Also last night I bought a 10-way surge protected extension lead from Amazon but it doesn't count because I spent the vouchers on it I'd earnt from doing online surveys.0 -
I was just thinking the same re NGlady. That was a really sh1tty thing Tyzer posted and I hope she's okay. The last thing anyone needs is to be kicked when they're down!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

CL: see what I said in my last post about it; I think it's totally worth it.
Panicking though over the whole finance issue for university; I have no idea how I am going to manage financially; I'll be entitled to less help financially as a student than a jobseeker PLUS at least on JSA I am getting my rent paid; I have to pay rent out of my student loan...and I've already been looking for a job for 2 years....SH!!!!!!!T0 -
Hi all
Completelylost and SoukI wouldn't let somebody who has probably posted on this thread what three times? scare me off posting off something i've probably posted 400 times on
Shows that she needs some reading classes if she can come to such conclusions as to be honest I think in all of my posts I mentioned how much I liked him, and yes he treated me but I always offered him the money for things and I have too much self pride to walk round malls pointing at things for him to buy for me. So hey oh, least she won't be posting again
But you won't be getting rid of me
lol
Flickering ember - I know this isnt any help. Im crap at advise lol. But what i've always been told is where theres a will theres a waySo I am sure you will find your solution. Ya I know i told you im crap at advise lol
Angelawhats the top like?
Completelylost - your so good with your spending nowadays :S Bet the KFC was great because you don't buy things like that often
I've got really poor with my spending dairy over the past couple of weeks - cant blaime it souly on being back at work because I have evenings to do it :S I need to get back into this before I get a wage put in my bank account, because I can feel myself slipping back into naughty ways :S so must learn to be good again. On another note, I am being good as I have a money tin that im using for when I go to London, think I only have about £20 in there so far, but hey thats lunch and a cocktail
Right.... bed time ....Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Thanks NG....I know you're right...and I'll be fine, although it will be a struggle. Out of the 93 items I have listed on eBid so far, only one has any bids on it, and my Greenmetropolis account has grown; I now have 178 books listed for sale. How I ever accumulated that much in the first place is totally beyond me.0

I wouldn't think your alone there FE. I think everybody over the years acrewes a lot of stuff they don't need, when I moved last year I made mistake of not throwing things away as I moved. Now in theory I have a beautiful bedroom in a lovely house, but no because of my uge bulging wardrobes that I never make myself go through its cluttered, which is sad! but what if I need that size 12 (Im a size 16!!) black skirtLearning to be 'good with money'0

NG, I did the same. Last year, I needed 2 vans to move my stuff from one rented ROOM to another. Ridiculous. I'll be fine with one van this time and am seriously impressed with just how much I've managed to dispose of so far. Here's hoping people will buy some more of my stuff; I'm listing more today and tomorrow and maybe into next week; got sequinned shoes, another pair of trainers, 2 coats and more clothes in general to add.
In fact, I've moved house 5 times in 2 years and this is the first time I've really made the effort to be sensible and disciplined.
I think you should try selling things on musicmagpie, greenmetropolis, CEX, ebay, ebid, play, amazon and the Cash Converters shop depending what you've got to get rid of. Size 12 is a very popular size so should sell well.0 -
Hi girls
Glad we are all still posting.
The reason I wrote that I might never wear the top is the usual story, I buy things and they get ignored. Still haven't unpacked the handbag that I bought about 2 months ago!
The top is a deep pink vest with a high (ish) round neck. It has an intricate design all over the front that looks like it's been stamped with ink (hard to describe) but the middle section has some tiny gold beads sewn into strategic parts of the design. I thought it would make a change having something a bit different as nearly all my clothes are plain.
FE - have you looked into bursaries for your uni course?
Financial notebooks. I've made the first step of keeping my receipts (instead of throwing them out) inside the plastic pages of a photo album labelled for each month, but haven't got round to looking at them ever again!
Clutter, housework, house repairs, hobbies - for a long time now I've had massive to-do lists of chores and hobby projects but tend to avoid them as much as possible as I'm overwhelmed by the amount to do. This is because I keep adding more and more because I read a lot of books, websites, mags etc with all these clever ideas so decide I 'have to' do it. Because the lists are always impossible to do, I feel guilty all the time because I know I've got things on my list which are completely unnecessary and the really important things get ignored.0 -
Anglea, yes, I know I'll be entitled to a bursary. I've also applied for disabled students' allowance because I have bad dyslexia, dyspraxia and discalcula. Even then though, it's not enough. I'll have to make do and hope my books continue to sell and hope to also win things in competitions I can sell. I've won so much skin/hair care I know that for the next year I will need to buy nothing but: tampons/liners/wipes, deodorant, toothpaste. So that's one less potential cost to consider.
I've got to pay £75 for the headphones I need for my course; they're normally double but am getting a good second hand pair off a friend. The software I need is worth about £800 too but am getting that given to me, as well as a scanner and a printer so those are less things but I genuinely NEED another couple of hard drives and the TV because sometimes on my course you need to watch DVDs for research and my laptop is too delicate to risk losing my software to watch anything. I am using this netbook just for the internet.
It'll all work out...just need another job and sharpish!!0 -
This thread is rather quiet...how's everyone doing?
Today's been a busy NSD at home doing more sorting and decluttering.
Decided not to buy that TV/DVD combi but I am going to buy something of that nature soon.0
