I would be feeling relieved too - like a sign that it wasn't meant to be.
But I'd probably be super disappointed too :o

Flickering Ember, on my swap site last year there was a girl who wanted a Kath Kitston one of those trollies lol.
Oooo do let me know about how to buy from you chick :) Would prefer my money to go to somebody like you than a big company :)

Nooooooooooooooo!! I love Cath Kidston, didn't know they did trollies and now really want one....

However, I am more concerned with getting myself an iPhone ASAP.

As for buying my books, I sell on Greenmetropolis.com under the username FlickeringEmber and you can see all my books here: http://www.greenmetropolis.com/member.asp?id=154591 but there's a few pages of my wares to wade through; got over 130 books on offer at the moment. But you should only buy if you're going to read them and enjoy them, not for the sake of buying them if you see what I mean...I do add books on a regular basis though.

Today has been a NSD and I sold one book which I need to go and post tomorrow.

I don't think she got a genuine Kidston to be honest, think it was just "kidston style" but if you ever see a scary lady walking round Newcastle lol.

  • Evening,

I'm kicking myself because I lost my diamond necklace yesterday - details on the blog if you're interested. I'm not a careless person, just clumsy. Caught the chain by accident swimming and lost the pendant. :(

Feel naked without it - have seen something I really like (have liked it for a few years) but it'll need to wait to be a combined birthday pressie from family, just can't spend that kind of money on myself right now. :o

I've put a pic up of a cheap £5 alternative - let me know what you think.

A no spend day other than bus fares, so that's good.

    xx
  • Never been to Newcastle. One day though....

Was in Cath Kidston in Jan buying an overnight bag in the sale and never saw any trollies so that makes sense. I do, however, have Cath Kidston wellies which I bought just for Glastonbury last year!!

Bored and sick of having no money and no job. The job centre sends you to Reed after a certain period of time and literally there is NOTHING to even apply for. It's DEAD. Managed to apply for ONE actual vacancy this month, and just sent some speculative CDs around. Scary times. Hoping things will pick up once the students go home; eg their jobs open up. ;)

    Hi everyone,

Yesterday was a little more expensive than I'd hoped it was £7.92 as I went to the local shop to get some milk as had visitors and ended up with some extra bits which hasn't helped my diet!!!!!

Ref clothes I sorted out some of my summer stuff and I've decided that I will get rid of any clothes that do not fit me at the end of the year. I'm using the fact that I only had a baby 5mths ago but if I'm honest I was hoping to be alot thinner by now. Although I am back to pre baby weight!!!

Hi thats so awful :( Have you perhaps looked on Ebay? Only, you may be able to pick up a fairly priced alternative on there which could be a lot more suitable than a £5 as I presume at £5 it isnt even real silver so you wouldnt be able to wear it all the time.

    Hi all,

:o all I did was join a simple straight forward January 2010 thread for giving up buying toiletries and makeup until I had used up what I already have.
That one simple act, plus a few other things in my private life have led me to have to face up to the fact that I am a serious shopaholic and I need to stop before I am financially ruined.

It sounds so simple and logical to stop but I am finding it so hard.

I have searched through the DFW threads but I can't find any upto date help. All the posts/threads seem to be from 2007 and then they seem to stop abruptly. Are you all cured? If so can you tell me how? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks so much for any help you can give me.:)

Just found this thread and busy looking through it. Well Im more of a binge shopper than a shopperholic I can restrain myself for a while then have a sod it moment and go to town and spend on stuff I dont really need. My mum was a shopperholic and so i think I am like both her and dad who used to quote her the words that are in my signature. I do try to say these to my self when I get these shopping urges. I find if I stay away from town and do a big declutter It helps to calm me as well. perhaps seeing all that STUFF i dont need does it.

I really reined in my spending a month ago and tho I don't have something to say every day, I do read this thread most days. All of the thoughts and ideas have really helped me and although this is the 14th of the month, I still have enough salary left to see me through til payday on 25th. This might not sound remarkable but it's the first time in a very long time so to all of you contributors, a big thank you from me (and loads like me) that are watching and learning from your experiences :T
