I know Mags :O I have never had a pressie off a guy before, even my ex of a year never did anyting like that. To be honest, im hopeing this was a one off gift and he isnt so frivverlous (SP) normally as I would like somebody responsible for their money to be honest. He does make very good money, hes a Pharmasist (sp) and pharmacy manager, so just hopeing maybe he had a little spare i dunno!
Yep shall give everybody the next installment lol.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hello,
I've been lurking on this thread for ages, so thought it was about time I said hello!
I really enjoy everyone's posts and am finding myself thinking much more carefully about what I buy now.
I've started a shopping blog (which you can see by clicking on my user name on the left if you're interested) to record the things I buy in the hope that it'll make me think a purchase through before I actually buy it and will also be able to look back over time and see whether things were wise buys - do I still love it, am I still using it etc.
Thinking before spending has got to be a good thing, so thanks for opening my eyes to how much money I've been wasting.

Hi there,
Glad to see you've delurked
I've bookmarked your blog, it looks interesting! Not sure I'll be able to contribute anything particularly constructive as I usually end up justifying everyone's spends for them
But anyway, welcome to the thread.=================Right now I'm feeling tired. I've done my washing, been for my run, listed a few things for sale... actually done stuff, which is amazing for me - especially on a Sunday.
I really hope things don't go t*ts up for me towards the end of the month. I'm thinking that maybe I should treat myself to a something this week... just so I don't go crazy and spend a ridiculous amount in one go. On the 22nd I'm going into the city with my mum so not sure whether I should save for that instead?

CL why not wait til you get to the city and buy something fabby then? X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

NG lady - love the post about your date, give the guy a chance do you not find as you get older you need to get to know someone to fancy them?? Although I've been with my husband for 13 yrs so I don't really know alot about the dating thing but just think when I was 18 things were so different to how I would think now if I was on the dating scene....
SA - hope you sort things out with your OH. I remember when my OH got depressed very out of character and I nearly left him and then found out it was the drugs he was taking which gave him these side effects so hopefully you can get it all sorted..........
Well I'm off to town today to buy some bits from Morrisons, a diary and a meet with friends so a drink etc...
I'm going to have a sort out of my wardrobe but one thing I've always wondered how many clothes is to many????0 -
tlb2408 I think as long as you honestly know and can wear ie fit into everything that's in there then it's okay...if not it's time for a sort out!
Well going to have an NSD today. Got a friend coming for tea tonight but got all the food and wine in already!
Enjoy your days all X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -

We_shop_therefore_we_are - Welcome welcome welcome. thats my idea exactly, to start a spending blog
Shall have a look at yours later. Yes CL is good for justifying my shopping too, I just return the favour lol.
CL - why not save a set amount each day so say £3/£4 each day that you don't go shopping into a little "shopping fund" so when you go to the city on the 22nd that money will be your guilt free splurge?
TLB - im only 21, but I do see what you mean, I am getting slightly less bothered about them being the next Brad Pitt to be honest.Learning to be 'good with money'0 -
Welcome back salesaddict. Sounds a great date NGlady. I'm off to parents for a couple of days. Will try to be careful with the spends and catch you all when I get back.0

FE - ineresting that a glass of wine costs £3 almost the price of a pair of PJ's. Still everyone needs a few treats.
Well, I had another £3 glass of wine last night and that was my total spend for the day; I don't drink a lot so that does me just fine, besides which, if I bought a whole bottle it would go to waste as the fridge isn't big enough for it so it'd get spoilt.
Today's spends, on a MSD: 85p on a bus ticket (I can get child fare still!) and £2.24 on enough Diet Coke to last til Wednesday and a bar of chocolate.0
