Oooh - a chiropodist in the house - how good is that!!:D Loads of free pedicures and not a bit of rough skin in sight!! Still sorting through drawers and wardrobes to get started on the eBaying - it's a slow process. I've also got loads of shoes that the chiropodist would most certainly not approve of - and the feet to prove it :o
  • Well, I resisted the urge to buy a magazine when I went to Tesco earlier so I think I am doing well today. Mind you, I'm beyond broke anyway...

    Hi everyone,

How did you get on? Today I took my son to the cafe, found an overdue library book and got out an audio book so just over £10 spent. Was planning to get some more things in Ethel Austin but it had already closed down. :(

Flickering Ember, hope things pick up for you

NGlady - did you go shopping?

Supersmith - pasta - did you see in Iceland, 2 for 1 offer only 80p..

I'm reading Shopaholic and Baby and really enjoying it, remembering what it was like when I was having children and realised that it was from that time that I got seriously into shopping as I don't remember ever getting that excited about it beforehand.

Hi all, well i'm back from a shopping trip :( I thought, I know, lets go to Mansfield (Small town) rather than into the city, then hopefully I won't find anything I want and not spend ANYTHING... hmmmm

I do really annoy myself. I always look at things and think "Nah to expensive cant afford that" then I go by multiple things that add up to this amount plus. I had such good intentions with money from a return, saw a beautiful leather jacket in Oasis which has been perved at for a long time from £150 down to £50 which I could afford and would be able to probably track one down with enough phone calls - great I thought ill go home now, make that phone call... But no I went shopping!

I'd love to have the self control not to buy anything for a month then go on a really good shopping spree :) The amount of money I waste I could have an amazing one, like i'll ever have that much self control lol.

Still feeling quite proud of myself. I am no longer going shopping and thinking nothing of spending £20/30 - in primark today, I actually put a £1 item down because I didnt need it, no way i'd have done that in the past! I am actually feeling in a odd way 'guilty' about my spending, and tbh I know thats a odd feeling, but it really does help!
Ok first off - took a dress back to Debenhams, got £30 cash from it. So I went into the Oasis concession, and saw a lady wearing a dress, I thought, Gotta have it :(http://www.oasis-stores.com/Rosalind-Prom-Dress/All-Sale/oasis/fcp-product/3170067746 not sure I even like it, possible return!

Finally got a black cardigan - this is very much justified though, as I do need one for less formal interviews and I do live in bf cardigans.

    McDonalds = £4.00
Magazine to read in mc donalds = 0.69p

Easter eggs - will my sisters stop having more kids for Auntie Laura to buy for lol. £10 for four from Thorntons quite happy :)

Long sleeve cardigan, Black vest top, 5 pack of undies, short sleeve top a pair of leggings - PRIMARK £11. I very rarely shop in Primark, but they seemed good bargains, will force myself to return if any of them arent quite right :)

Total spend today: £54.89 - after returns £24.89 - bleeding heck, do you think my handbag and purse just eat my money? lol.

    Hi NGlady,

That's an unusual dress, is it the same at the back? At least since you've started on this thread, you're not spending as much as before - putting a £1 item back:T

So are you going to order that leather jacket as well?

Angela, nope im banning myself from the beautiful soft leather jacket, especially until ive had 5 NSDs to pay for it :) being very strict. Its just plain at the back :)
Well the dress is officially going back lol.

  • Hi all,

Has been a busy couple of days... no time do shop tbh!
Though today I got my desk and I am so disappointed. It doesn't even look the same as the photo (quality-wise) and it's chipped in places. Nothing major, but enough to annoy me.

I just feel really guilty as my mum paid for it :o:( and it's rubbish, even she looked disappointed. I spoke to the man who owns the web site and he said that if I want to return it I'll have to pay a restocking fee and also for it to be delivered back to them :( But I've sent them some photos of the chipping and will try again tomorrow to see if they'll pay for collection and give me a full refund.

Anyway, today I spent 60p on something from the college vending machine, £1 on some snackajacks and... that was it!
Yesterday I spent a £1 voucher on some Red bull and bought a lotto ticket.
So my spends across two days were a mere £2.60 :j

NGlady I am the same - I talk myself out of one quality purchase, then proceed to buy a whole ton of £1/£2 tat. Still, you only just went over your £20 budget so don't feel too bad.

Completelylost did you pay via paypal or anything? I am sure he cannot demand restocking fee as the item has been recieved faulty, fair enough if u chose not to want it but it isnt as advertised.
