    Hi all

Hello to the new members

Polly, do you have the spare cash for that Boden sale? What will you do with the extra clothes in case they don't sell on Ebay?

You know how I'm always saying I can't buy what I need? Today was different as I bought - umbrellas x 2, pink zipped top, handbag and got a free lovely smart black skirt from mum (one of her misfits bought recently)

Tomorrow I might get some more umbrellas as I'm always losing them (Ethel Austin has got the receivers in, everything is going fixtures etc -60% off)

Littlechicken, if you would like it ill happily send you a copy :) Otherwise on the amazon listing, theres the "used from £0.01" and it gives u the ability to pay for it then :)

I always loose my brollies too or carry it around unused for ages, then it seems good weather so ill remove it from my handbag for space reasons - guranteed thats the day I need it.

Angela, its bad isnt it when we get excited about the recievers being in, i got excited when Adams was closing down in the Westfields on Friday lol.

Hi Angela. You're right of course that I might be stuck with the stuff but will buy it all in my own size so that it can hang, unworn in my over-stuffed wardrobe. I know how absurd that sounds, even to me. Haven't placed the order yet but put this up here to show one of my typical dilemmas that prove I'm far from cured :o Watched 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' with my 8 year old daughter at the weekend and she just couldn't understand why someone would need so many clothes. If only it were that simple when we grew up and got our hands on cash (or worse - credit!).

Morocha - good plan might try that. I could think about what I really really want and/or need rather than just wandering around the shops - this is what seems to get me into danger.

Anglea - your stuff sounds nice, good that you could get stuff you need :)

Polly - another vote for have a think and see what you will do if you can't sell the other clothes on ebay. there's no point buying them if they won't be used or sold. you could do it like a test - let's see if I can only buy one dress from Boden!

I had NSD yesterday! :j today spent £6.50 on lunch but it was a leaving do so wanted to go.

I just thought as well, posting here is making me feel better about not spending my money. Like before when I tried not to spend money, I felt really like I was denying myself and being really horrible to myself and that I needed to treat myself to feel better. (Vicious circle) But now I'm actually starting to feel pleased when I have a NSD, and thinking about what I could spend my money on if I saved it up rather than just spending every day! Not there yet by a long way, but it feels better to be trying if you know what I mean?

Well done Supersmith.. you are on the right track.

I went to the shops with oh today and dd... we both got £10 from joint acc... i did not buy anything for myself but bought a really cute suitcase for dd (£4) and the teddy i promises her cos she is potty training and did a wee in the potty((£3) and some £0.50 cotton wool. so that's me for today £7.50 with gift from joint acc... £2.50 to save.

Had a lovely manicure today but it was a treat because I had a gift voucher. Parked for free in Tesco and then bought some groceries (only what was on my list!) with a refund from a pair of school trousers bought on Saturday. Came home with my nails done, some food for dinner and £2.50 change. If only it could always be that simple!!
  • Well done Polly. I forced myself to stay home and catch up with the chores. So NSD and all ironing, and some cleaning done.
