Mmm... crisps. Especially those pom bears, they're lovely. And salt and vinegar squares.
And I know, I do spend lots of time wandering round the shops, or looking at my favourite websites to see if there are any sales.
Well I've not had the best spend couple of days. Monday I went for lunch with a friend but did at least manage to go for the cheap option of a sandwich in the park, £3.50. Then exercise class £5.50. I think I might start treating this differently to my other spends becuase it's positive spends not wasting money, and I always find myself taking more money out for the class and then wasting the rest because it's in my purse. So now I've decided to have an exercise class purse, I've taken all the money for the month out and it will stay in there.
Tuesday was a NSD until I went home and couldn't be bothered to cook so had a take away curry £8.
Today I have a packed lunch so don't need to spend anything. I have a treat/challenge after work - one of my friends at work is leaving so I get to go into town with other people's money and buy presents!! I'm hoping it will give me a shopping buzz without leaving me wanting to buy things for myself.
Wish me luck!! :rotfl:0 -
Today's going to be a cheap day, just a £3.40 meal at the local cafe.
Friday - Sunday should all be NSDs. Tomorrow I need to get a daily bus pass (£3.30) and a load of groceries so it's going to be a pricey one!!0 -
Today is not going to be cheap for me! Longing after a necklace from Topshop which is £12 but even if I don't give into temptation, the 'essential' (as almost ran out) toiletries I need still comes to nearly £15, I'd forgotten how dear toiletries were!0

Ho lovelies !!
NGlady, yes it was... the real RRP is £27 and this one is brand new and sealed:D
Ummm CRIPS... i bought some for dd the day before yesterday when i took her to the doctor and she only let me eat 2 !
Swinstie73, go to get your toiletries if you really need them now. I do have an addictive personality, or like my oh says, i am obssesed, i become like this with things... be make up, shoes. ( i gonna get crazy cos i really need a good pair of sandals because everything gives me blisters and i can not buy in the high street anymore)
Flickering Ember, good for you, cheap day and eating out i want that too !

Morning all. I'm doing OK not spending - although I do have a couple of handbags on order that I bought before losing my job and I know I'm going to find returning them VERY difficult.
I have a yoga class later today so hopefully that will do me some good - and I had a microdermabrasion treatment last night so my skin is feeling lovely (all of these things I paid for pre-job loss.Save me from spending...
Sealed Pot Challenge 2008 - £1004:T 2009 - £1139 2010 - £1260 :j 2011 - £1557 2012 - £740  No 195 Target £1k0 -

Try the Body Shop's current sale and the pound shops/Home Bargains/Wilkinsons to take the edge off these costs. And also enter competitions to win stuff. I won what was meant to be a year's supply of hair things from Aussie which have lasted coming up to 2 years....don't have to buy anything other than deodorant and face cleanser for at least another year...Flickering Ember, good for you, cheap day and eating out i want that too !
This cafe is great. Big cup of tea, 2 slices of bread and butter and a big hearty bowl of stew for £3.40 plus I can read the paper there for free.:D0 -
Hi all
Little_chicken- Glad everythings going well for youIs it possible, if you really love one of the handbags to try and sell enough things on ebay/amazon etc to cover the cost of one of them? Do you possibly have your birthday coming up, and could presuade your bf/parents to buy this for you instead?
Swinstie
If things are essential don't not buy them for the sake of saving a couple of pounds, in the long run it works out more expensive as you end up thinking "Oh i really did need xyz" and you end up going to the more expensive convienience store. Worth visiting Asda, they have got a lot of the essentials on a offer of £3 for 4 items
Morocha - My feet are exactly the same, can never find sandels comfortable. HOWEVER last summer, I brought a pair of sandals for £4 from Primark only very basic gladiator sandals and i found them livably comfortable!!! I find flat shoes very hard they hurt more than heels and i can't walk in toe posts!
I do have a very adictive personality. Example, I read about this new chat site, chat roulette and went onto it for a nose on Monday night, I was on it until 4am as it got adictive :O also I think adictive goes hand in hand with routine such as im itching to go shopping today as its Wednesday and I normally go shopping on a Wednesday, but this week im not allowing myself
Soooo expenditure this week so far:
£12.50Monday (was on a birthday card/gift so a necessity)
£0.00tuesday
£1.60 Wednesday, will probably spend another £5 (On travel) as im going for an open day for nursing school later
Aim to come in under £30 for Monday-Friday. Won't be much of an achievement compaired to some peoples shopping habbits for me however its a big oneLearning to be 'good with money'0 -
Hi all. So pleased to have found this thread as it's just so good knowing I'm not the only one to struggle with this problem. I really will get started on the eBay and have decided to start with small items such as nail varnish so it's not too much hassle to begin with. I must have 50 bottles, mostly unopened and many of them good brands like OPI. Before you all think I'm a nail-varnish-aholic, can I point out that most of them were free with magazine subs from this site
so if I make a bit of money on them, it will actually be profit. Will keep you posted re this. Went to Tesco this morning and only brought cash. It was actually quite refreshing making choices based on how much I actually had with me as opposed to aimlessly wandering round just dropping stuff into my trolley. When I came home, I went onto the Clubcard website and ordered up movie tokens free using my points. Enjoyed that too and really making an effort to get out of my spend spend spend habits.

Afternoon,
Haven't been posting much... mixture of feeling apathetic and being busy with other stuff.
On Monday I tried to take a top back to New Look (I had paid £11.20 with student discount) - she told me that because I didn't have my receipt I could only have vouchers. She said 'That has gone down to £6 in the sale so that's all I can give you for it'... I had seen the top was still full price on the website and she didn't even bother to scan it before offering me the £6, so I kept it.
Anyway today I tried a different branch, the lady actually scanned the top and it was still full price! So I got a £14 credit noteI also returned a £12 top and a £30 coat and got cash for those.
I did get a mega bargain today though. Dorothy Perkins are doing BOGOF on green ticket items. I got two pairs of skinny jeans for £10. One of the pairs I had actually got on the website then returned because they were too small for me... but I tried them on today and they fit (I have lost a few lbs) :j I was desperate for jeans as mine are all too big on the waist, so I don't feel bad about this.
Anywaaaaaay! Back to the horses for me.
I hope you're all doing well???
Oh, and I think I read a few posts back about shopping bulimia and that is 100% me.0 -
That is a mega bargain CL
And buy one get one free on Sale items, shall have to pop into town, need a couple of gifts for people
Oooo on another note, im looking for a plain black polo shirt that i can wear like under dresses etc does anybody know where i could find one? I cant find one anywhereLearning to be 'good with money'0
