Hey guys! Thank you for the lovely birthday messages - they really made me smile
.
Sorry I never managed to pop on to celebrate yesterday! I was out and about and eating most of the day!
Woke up with yukky allergic conjuctivitisso headed straight for Boots and poured eye drops into my eyes every 2 seconds... luckily it was sunny enough that I could keep my eyes covered by my sunglasses most of the day! Phew!
Headed to my friend's for breakfast (mmmm, nice way to spend a Saturday morning, drinking tea and some-one else handing you fried egg and tattie scone rolls!) She got me a years supply to "Pyschologies" magazine too - so a gift that keeps on giving.
Then I headed off to the Farmer's Market, which always ends up in me buying fruit and porridge oat bars (yummy, and great for your slow release enegy! Though always gets funny looks from the chocolate addicts at work) and coffee with my ex and his mum (less weird than it sounds! We're friend's and his mum is lovely. He was going to "fix" her computer, which I knew would reuslt in him shouting at said computer and making his mum feel bad, so figured I'd go along and chat about the weather and holidays and politics and stuff
), then I headed home and opened lots of cards the the postie brought - loved one from my friend in London that had 2 knitted elephants on the front and said "Don't get 2 trunk" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Then went out for more food - curry this time. Popadums, 2 starters, main and ice cream! I could hardly walk after that!
And today I continued in the same vain. Met my friend for lunch and a mooch about the shops. Had risotto this time. Both of us are very proud that we did not spend any money on clothes (but I did eventually buy the dress from a few pages back today so I had fed my urge).
I got some stuff I need from Bo*ts and the girl at the till kindly told me if I spent another £2, I could get a £5 off voucher before she put my moisuriser through, so I went back to get the leave in conditioner I hadn't bought as mine hasn't quite run out yet.
I did get one imulse buy - a book of craft projects, which I could probably have got on Amaz*n using survey vouchers, but hey, if I can't ley myself off the hook on my birthday weekend, when can I let myself of the hook!? (Though proud to be asking the questions these days!)
I was about to say it's the only treat I've bought myself (if we gloss over the phone...), however I do have a bid on for another dressmaker's dummy... which is finising about now - hence I'm trying to stay on here and resist the urge to up my bid further!!! I will not enter into a bidding war, I will not!
Though guess where I'm off to now... I think it finished at 8, so we'll see...Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Yay sounds like a lovely birthday weekend
And you're right, if you can't treat yourself then, when can you!!
*Fingers crossed* for the dummy xxProud to be dealing with my debts - LBM Mar 2010

Grrr, was in the middle of a rambling response and then I lost it! Fat thumbs! If I "double click" (i.e. leave my finger in the same place for too long, or twitch a bit!) on the mouse pad, my laptop takes me off somewhere else... generally this only works when I am not trying to get it to work and I get taken off to some random page or other
. This confuses me constantly! Though it doesn't take much!
So the concise version:- Dummy won
- 1 exta bid, but only an obscure £1.63 or some other mad amount.
- Mike's thread - DIY SOS :T:T:T He let me know on Friday.
- Visiting down that neck of the woods to [STRIKE]be on telly[/STRIKE] help - might be hard as I'll just be back at work, but hoping "doe eyes" and asking straight away in a mysterious fashion, will have my boss agreeing in fear I go off again just as I'm getting into the swing of things
(Yes, I know that could be seen as mean, but some-times you just have to play the game
)
- Visiting IoW - might be on hold as puppy-sitting at the end of August (:D:D:D) Too impatient to wait until after that to visit. Especially if that means I miss out on The Doll's House Renovations!!!
I also went into some mad, enthusiastic "when I am a dress-maker..." fantasy thing with the dress-maker's dummy. But I'm really not sure what I was talking about there.
Oh, and I also was going to tell you I sent Martin a message on behalf of Mike to say what a wonderful community we are here at MSE and look how we've got together to rally around on his thread...
Which reminds me, I sent Martin a message a while back, asking whether there had ever been any plans to publish a seletion of DFW diaries as many of them are fab to read and they cut across such a huge selection of the population... he responded too, wonder if I still have it to copy on here for you... off to have a look...Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Here it is:
"We have thought of doing so... but the publisher wanted me to write a host of it and I could just havent got the time anymore to do that. It is an interesting idea - i may have a rethink of it though"

Aw, wow! I must ask my mate if he popped along... not only does he live London, he takes an awesome photo! If I'd known it was on, I'd have invited myself down for my birthday
.
What have I done today?...
Well I went off to body balance this morning, fell over lots, but the teacher was lovely and does a Monday night class so I'll be going to that one from now on as I'll be back at work and unable to gallavant around.
Then I cam home in in a flurry of activity I gutted the kitchen, including cleaning out and washing the fridge.
I contacted the college and sorted out my sewing classes. They don't take the money right away as they need to check there's enough people to fill the class, so I need to leave the money in the account for two weeks! Thankfully I now have the sense to pay for these kind of things out of an account that is not my bill account!
I didn't spend anything else so I thin might claim today as an NSD and "spend" the money tomorrow, as I am still waiting to hear back from the website where my order wouldn't work. Hopefully they'll respond tomorrow and that'll be that. And if they don't, it is stuff I need so I will need to go and hunt it down anyway!
All of this activity was just another ploy to ignore the bombsite that is my room. There are piles of clothes every-where (ones that have been photographed and need put onto turbolisiter, ones that have been washed but need photographed and ironed, ones that are next for the wash...) There are also books everywhere is variuos different piles (on swap site, on Green Met, about to go on green Met, pluck up courage to put these ones on Green Met...) There's also the stuff I could do to put in a garage until I car boot it... mirror, lamps, plant pots...
And then there's the general mess... pile of stuff to do, pile of books I'm currently reading, interesting, procrastinatinion pile, pile of stuff dumped from shopping/coming in, yoga mat, shoes, handbag, ironing board set up and being used as a table... you know, the usual
I try to keep it all in my room so the rest of the flat isn't scary and I don't annoy my flat-mate too much... but in reality all that happens is that I avoid my bedroom as much as possible!
And now it's kinda late to make a start so I will do the night-time shuffle to ensure I am free of trip hazards in case of a sleep-walking escapade (which has never happened that I am aware of :rotfl:).
Hopefully tomorrow I will wake up with a sense of energy and purpose!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Pilesof stuff still all over the place... was distracted by Skyping my friend in Hong Kong, we were chatting for 2 hours . Good job skype is free (she has been in Hong Kong for over 2 years now and that's only the second time we've managed to converse rather than type! Mostly because I can't work skype!)
Tried to do an online shop at MySupermarket but seemed to lose it all when I got to the check out  Not a happy bunny! Comtemplating printing off the list and just heading to the supermarket - which is less than 5 mins away. I was trying to avoid impulse buys by online shopping but I was incensed at the delivery charge so maybe I just have to be strict with the shopping list! It also means I might find things the search button thought didn't exist - like quinoa!
Just spent £50 on a weekend awayOk, might be naughty in an MSE sense, but my friend (with the adopted children) and I are going away for an entire weekend, we will stay in wigwams (actually wooden, triangular hut things) and we will go to the spa wigwam and be pampered and we will eat BBQs and drink beers and go for walk in the country-side.... and CHILL
(well, I will....she may just sleep all weekend with no kiddies to keep her awake
).
I really do need to rejig my budget! I haven't sorted it out since I got the letter from Inland Revenue and I haven't used my second job money for debt this month at all. I'm not to bothered about this as I think we all need to have a bit of fun - however, if I don't budget soon, there is the risk that I fall off the wagon completely!
And we can't be having that!!!
First day back at work tomorrow! Am terrified that I won't get up in time for it! And I will, no doubt, need to spend day 1 battling with my computer and IT! And I should probably look out some clothes and lunch (another reason to go to the supermarket now!)
Best head off then!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! My shopping list is missing from both mysupermarket and the supermarket it was supposed to be sent to! It took me bloody hours!
Harrumph! Well, I guess that's my brief love affair with online supermarkets well and truly soured!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
