Bad girl that I am, I have a washer/dryer. I only use the dryer bit for towels and dressing gowns though :o

News flash: most of the washing is now dry. :rotfl:

I couldn't get online last night, the connection just cutting out. I guess the entire world was online as it's fine today (so far).

So instead I sorted out my budget spreadsheet thingybob (downloaded from MSE cos I can't work spreadsheets) for next year. I filled out last year's until June but then it kinda fell of my radar (or maybe was flung out of my radar...) However, if I'm going to set up independently and do VSO, then I need to be realistic about my timescales and I need to be consciously saving for the different things that will be needed as soon as the debts are gone.

Two days left for my last pressie to arrive! I think it was dispatched a few days ago, but I'm off to check. Dress not arrived yet either :(. I wanted to dance around the flat in it! :D

    Hello

Sorry for the late reply. It was my working weekend so I was working - and therefore reading on my Kindle! :D I think I have an ear infection so I have been making the most of my pressies - a big, cozy fleecy dressing gown and a pair of fluffy slippers and have been curled up in bed, sleeping, reading, drinking water, pretty much in that circular order.

Tonight I decided I would try and tidy up the mess that is - as always - my bedroom, which means half the room is strewn with clothes that needed to be washed/given to the charity shop/binned and the other half is strewn with paperwork that needs shredded or filed. Why is the "I don't know what to do with you?" pile is always biggest?

I'm feeling grumpy. Which is likely due to earache and a lack of food for feeling nauseous. But I think also because I know the clutter I need to clear out is more than my room! It's the mental stuff and the stuff that's dragging me down... I need to give my flatmate notice I think. And I need to know the VSO plan is better on track than it currently is to cope with work. And I need to start back to yoga to keep me sane!

Work want to send me back to occy health. This is because I find it difficult to be in for 9.30 sharp. I'm pretty much always in by 9.40. Despite me trying to explain (as I have done since my first return to work) that it's not that I'm interminably lazy, or that I'm sitting faffing about watching morning telly and more a psychological thing that I would already have done something about if it were that easy, my operations manager seems to be in a real paddy about it and has no realisation that her checking where I am at 29 minutes past 9 might not be great for my stress levels. She thinks because I've been back to work for 18 months, I should be fine now. Great that manager's have an understanding of managing stress and anxiety, huh?

I know the only thing that will get me out of bed and sitting at my desk with a smile on my face before that time now is a new job! And given my plans, that's not likely to happen for a while so I need to get better at dealing with it.

Not figured out how I'm going to do that bit yet...

I'm sure a week in Portugal might help me work it out ;).

I hope you are all feeling a little less grumpy than me! :D (You'll be glad to know I'm listening to Glee just now and not Radiohead or anything like that - though I do like Radiohead - to make me feel a bit more festive. :D)

ETA And also lstening to Queen... take a wild guess... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM8Ss28zjcE

Sorry you are feeling grumpy and have a horrid ear infection - not a great start to the year :(

I used to struggle to get in to work on time and ended up setting the bedroom clock ten minutes fast and had two alarms. The first was set for 15 mints (really 25!) before I needed to get up so that I always had the luxury of switching it off and rolling back over for a snooze. I then didn't feel quite so bad about getting up when the second alarm went off.

I also allowed myself 15 minutes on the sofa cuddling a cuppa and watching breakfast TV and knew that I had to get by rear in gear when the forecast was finished to have any hope of getting out the house on time.

Feel free to ignore my suggestions if they won't work for you :D I do know how hard it is to haul yourself in to work when it is no longer fun or where you want to be.

Maty, I have one of those sun glow light clocks that doesn't wake me until the alarm goes. And I have another two alarms on tops of the light and the alarm. My problem is the snooze button. And the problem with the snooze button is I'm hitting it because I don't want to be there.

Saying that I do think I'm unnaturally tired for some-one of my age, given I'm reasonably fit and healthy and don't really drink much or smoke at all. I know I'm not anaemic but I think the doc just thought the tiredness was a side effect of my being anxious/stressed/depressed. Feel a bit of a hypochondriac going back though. I don't think she wouldn't think it wasn't related to stress, if you see what I mean. Plain English all the way!

And because I think I need to make sure I'm properly hydrated and eating the supplements I know help (can't remember the last time I remembered to use my flax seeds!) before I go complaining to the doc. (Cue: you all need to gently remind me to meal plan! ;))

I heard from a friend. It put my grumpyness into perspective. I'm feeling sorry for myself but there are a lot worse things I could be going through! :(

I'm doing what I do best when I am grumpy - throwing stuff out! The pile of clothes I again thought I might eBay. Life really is too short when you are as impatient as I am with these things. (Though I'm ignoring the pile of work paperwork. We don't go back to work in Scotland until Wednesday, so it can wait until then!)

I've also looked up some yoga classes over and above the ones the council gyms run (I have a subcription to them that comes off my wages, which is good value, but the classes can be very busy and I think I need at least one more focuesed class a week. Read: a teacher that will kick my but into shape. Or at least into a proper downward facing dog! :rotfl:)

Hiya Nicca - just read you last post but not read back - and I can relate to the snooze button thing which is so stress/depression based. Have you tried having two alarms, one which you know you can 'snooze' and another set a little later which doesn't have a snooze feature? Might work ..... might not ...... but worth a try
